[Q] Help with phone being awake almost 100% of the time - Optimus One, P500, V General

As the title says, my p500 is awake almost 100% of the time. Even with the screen off (please look at the attached image).
The only apps running at startup (used Startup Manager app to check it) are Go weather, Maps, Market, Minimalistic text and Quick System Info Pro. On my home screen (Go Launcher EX) I use Go Weather, minimalistic text and Winamp widget, nothing else.
Is there somewhere I can look at or maybe some app I can install to see what is causing it?
I'm using Mik's CM7 6.5.5 and franco.kernel v16.1 bfs (this one gives me almost 30% more battery life than the newer versions) and running at 729/245mhz Smartass.

Uninstall maps and you'll be back in action
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

I can try that but I've always used Maps and it never happened before. Sure it eats some resources but I dont remember it causing the phone to be awake.

Uninstalled maps and phone is still awake.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

Reflash the kernel. And I agree with you.I found the V16.1 better than the later updates

PROBLEM SOLVED
I was planing on sending the phone to repair on monday, but at the time and with the phone here i didn't want to give up so i thought of rooting it and reinstalling the firmware, but nothing worked and the phone didn't recognize that it was connected to a computer. So i kept search other ways to reinstall the firmware and came across a website that talked about a "secret menu" code for the phones and i remembered that this phones must had one and that from there i could do something, i did. From there i did a factory reset and, unlike the ones i did before by going to settings-privacy, when the phone rebooted it told me right way that it was connected to the computer. I also tested the problem with the screen light and so far, so good.
So, if anyone else has this problem(sannielyk reportedly had) what i did was entering the "secret menu" code : 3845#*500# and did the factory reset from there.
Apparently it was a software problem or something that wasn't installed right by the lg service. But so far everything is good, and i hope it keeps that away.
Thanks for the help

I think I've found the villain. I started manual proccess of uninstalling apps and letting the phone sleep for an hour or so to check awake times. After I removed Live Holdem Pro the phone finnaly slept through an entire hour.
Still have to test through a complete battery cicle tho.

the app that cause that problem is "radio fm"
after i uninstalled it, my phone is a new phone

So why do you need help?

I too have the 100% Awake problem, i manually killed everything but with no luck...

Yes, I have tried it. It helps when you do not use 3G/HSDPA. As soon as u enable internet and browse the net and after that disable the internet, the Fast Dormancy process starts to drain the battery again and again. Disabling the Fast Dormancy does not always work.
I swhitched to 2G and then it stopped draining the battery, but it is not the solution, as I can't live without 3G/HSDPA... Don't know what to do

Trouble with root apps.

Is anyone having issues/know how to fix root apps hanging? It only happens with root apps but I open them and they are just a black screen, so I wait and eventually force close. I think all my root apps have done this at least once, but mainly have problems with:
CPU Spy. 8/10 hangs.
Autokiller memory optimizer 2/10 hangs
Set CPU 1/10 hangs
Use about 8 others but they have only done this maybe 1/100 so not too much bother.
Am wondering if its something to do with superuser apk.
CPU spy is really bugging me, any help/advice much appreciated.
Edit: CPU spy works fine once I get it going, until I reboot, then it gives me grief again.

First when you root your x10 you need to restart your x10 before rooting any app.

What is your phone running at the moment, a ROM or SE Firmware? And your baseband, so I can figure out your problem better.
Did you overclock with set cpu, that can mess up things?
Am running wolfs v006 with custom kernel, however these apps used to hang before I installed new kernel. So yeah I use overclock, but only last couple of days and had this problem like forever lol. Same issue on Z's freex10 beta 4.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I have an idea that is a slight idea, how about you reflash the ROM and not put any modifying system apps on the phone and carefully watch which apps you put on the phone.
Did you do a nandroid flash back up to restore your settings in the ROM? Also, did you properly wipe full system, all caches before flashing the ROM? This could of been your issue too.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Yeah I have backups for about 4 different roms so that's no prob. I think its autokiller doing it tho, will uninstall all root apps and try one by one.

Settings app not opening

I've noticed that in the last couple of days, the Settings app doesn't work properly. At times, when I open the app, it just opens for a second and goes back to the home screen. After some time, the problem goes away on its own. Sometimes, taking out the battery and rebooting the device helps. Sometimes, it doesn't work. Anybody help me out here?

I am not really sure but this might be happening due to a virus or malware. Which RoM are you using?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Stock Gingerbread. 2.3.4!
Try installing any free antivirus and scan your phone. I recommend Netqin
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
It can also happen if you apply a wrong patch, or flashed something that was not supposed to be flashed on a stock ROM.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
No viruses, never flashed or patched anything! :|
maybe because cache is full, can make phone become crazy sometimes.
moreover u said ur on full stock rom without any modification. pure stock rom stores cache in phone memory and it'll be full and cluttered overtime.

[Q] Tab won't stay asleep

My Tab won't stay asleep. It randomly wakes up for a few seconds (5-10) then goes back to sleep. I can't seem to pin down a rhyme or reason as it doesn't always happen, but it does happen often. My main concern is battery drain. I'm running Task 14 with a boosted theme and stock kernel. I've reflashed the Rom but the issue still exists. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can try?
Your Not Alone!!
I would like to know also, as I have spotted mine do this too on occasions, anyone got any ideas out there please?
BTW, I am also running a Boosted themed Task14 with Pershoots kernel
I am not sure in this case, but I guess it could be an app you have installed. You should monitor with task manager which tasks are running and switch them off temporary to find out which app cause the problem.

I put both cpu spy and b.b.s. along with watchdog on, and can't seem to spot anything weird. Nothing is hogging a lot of juice, and it has plenty of deep sleep time. When it does a random wake up and I use the TouchWiz task manager it shows no active apps and Watchdog only shows minor things in the background, I'm not familiar with b.b.s. or cpu spy, is there something I should be looking for I am missing? Thanks for trying to help me figure this out.

Thanks for the tip. Yeah I use b00sted's ICS theme. I noticed the other person in this thread with the same problem is also using one of his themes which points in that direction except that I believe they are pretty widely used and tested themes. However I will probably remove it when I get around to reflashing the ROM as I think that's the only way to remove it to see if that solves the issue.
In case anyone was wondering, I think I got the problem figured out. I use the honeybar app to bide my task bar. When I disable it, I no longer see the problem. (it's been a couple of days and I haven't caught it lighting up yet.)

[Q] Help - Detect App(s) randomly turning the screen on

As per the title I get a strange behavior with the screen randomly (every 30 mins) when in sleep mode.
It happens both with data and sync on and in flight mode.
I'm on the latest fw of my intl. S3, I had this issue since the beginning.
I'm rooted.
How can I detect what is causing it? Is there an app?
Tx for your help.

It happens both via 3G and Wifi (where my ICS Tablet does not have the issue).
More importantly it happens in flight mode.
Thanks but I think it is an app or an OS part.
So, is this the cause ??
Happens with me too, but I am unrooted to try this method.

I have not tried, but I don't think it is a network related issue as it happens also when in Flight mode (everything switched off).

I tried in the past with no luck.
Partial wakelocks gives to me a huge numbers of apps/services. I do not see the option to have "the last one that caused the screen to go on".
Can you help me to narrow the search?

I had the exact same issue, and the same question a day or two ago.
I did what a previous user stated, I traced back my steps and uninstalled the latest apps I had installed and then installed one by one and found the one causing the problem. Unfortunately I cannot remember which app it was for me, but it can be any one of them.
Guess there must be a way to log all current system activity to a file and once it happens, check the log?

My worst is network location locator that drains my battery, only just installed bbs yesterday so not sure what all the wakelocks mean or alarms or anything else.
I know media is your downloads and you probably have your apps on auto update.
Doesn't have many instructions.
You must have a very low screen setting for 20% mine is at least at 70 and that's when I have it on auto brightness

You have the media scanner bug. There is no real cure but formatting the external sd card can help.
The simplest solution is just to force close it. It should not return until you reboot .
It's a Samsung issue so until they fix it we just have to live with it

Sorry was late here when I posted, I should have explained.
Run the app from the app drawer, hit the disable Media Scanner button. This will kill the media scanner everytime you reboot (if you are roorted, assume you are). To rescan for media just open the app and then close it.
Check after a reboot to make sure Media is not chewing up the battery. It works for me under JB and also did under GB.
If you use Tasker you should be able to achieve the same thing. So you could just kill that process with Tasker and either run it and kill it at certain times or the author of the above also has an app just called Rescan Media which you could just run via tasker at a given time interval. Personally never found the need but I guess it depends on how much media you actiually hold on your device etc...
