This is more like a request than a question. If I remember right stock Android had input dictionaries for every country. Correct ? Well, if so, why then do the custom ROMS don't have 'em ? I'm looking in particular for the romanian dictionary. Can anybody point me in the right direction or upload them. Thx.

incearca sa folosesti alta tastatura din market... sunt destule optiuni.... una buna ar fi smart keyboard pentru ca are si mod compact...
Mod. Edit:try using another keyboard in the market...there are plenty of options...good one would be smart keyboard that has a compact...

Ciao, M.
My wife using X10mini for 2 months now, she did not notice that she actually using Chinese keyboard all along. Until recently she ask me why the keyboard not able to pick up simple English spilling auto complete her typing.
Then I realize that, even she using English letter input, but it is not the same as correct English keyboard.
This X10mini was purchase in Hong Kong, the 2.1 OS was loaded with Chinese keyboard.
How can I change it?
Please advise.
thanks
James
when you enter to keyboard settings check on default one and then check the language you want to use, I have my OS in spanish and the keyboad in english
hope it helps
thanks for reply, in default selection, there are no other choice apart from chinese.
Does your spanish / english keyboard does auto complete with english spilling? if it not, it is spanish keyboard, not english.

Hello!
I am French, but my English is not very good.
his is my question:
With the ROM CM 6.1.3 V053, I have five office (Screen).
But it is too much for me...
It is possible to have fewer offices (Screen) ? if so, how ?
As with the launcher ADW.
thank you.
"why do French people always excuse themself for their english... Don't get me wrong, you got all the right in the world to excuse yourself for your english.."
but, lets stay on topic, you say you use ADW Launcher? Doesn't that usually have 3 homescreens standard?
anyways go to phone settings, ADW Launcher settings, And.... it should be there somewhere
Well the five home screen is a feature of the arc launcher which cannot be modified. So if you do want to change or rather reduce the number of home screens then install secondary launchers like ADW or LAUNCHER PRO.
Hope that helps you out

Salut coupaing !!
Bonne continuation !
Quick translation :
Hi mate !
As said before, you cannot change that feature with the ARC launcher. Nevertheless, here's the way to have less than 5 screens with ADW launcher (this cannot be done in "preferences") :
1) Push left physical button
2) Hit "modify" (or something else in the english version, don't know it at all :/)
3) Chose the screens you wanna' remove !
P.S : sry 4 bad english too

mmmm, he said he had ADW launcher.. and to modify the settings of that launcher, you do need to go to 'phone settings/preferences'.. what you so gently call 'modify'
but alright

I think we will have to wait for months until spanish dock become available. I'm have preordered UK dock from amazon uk.
After rooting and modding the keymaps, i found out the correct method: go into settings, obviously language, then go to configure input methods then into the 'asus keyboard' options and deselect auto based on system language and either only use or add spanish (us) (spanish spain will change a lot of your symbol buttons, us wont) then when typing, just select the ASUS spanish keyboard (input lang selector in task area), then to do the ñ, hold alt when pushing n, the same is for vowels to get the accent and hold alt+shift for capital letters. ü, Ü are mapped to the y, using the same method also.
There ya go, a method that doesn't require rooting or any of that jazz. I put the effort into figuring this out only because I'm taking spanish classes. this also seems to make it so you can just push ' then the vowel, (like with an actual spanish keyboard) but didn't seem to do that in all apps, honestly I don't like that because i use the apostrophe a lot, but i can just change between eng and esp.
EDIT:
pushing the ' button before the vowel will work in everything it seems, i just didn't notice it until after becuse i had been looking at keymappings and just noticed the alt+key mappings. also ~ before n works, etc... o it's like a spanish keyboard with the added alt+vowel / etc... mapping.
Also, this only works with the ASUS spanish layout, the android spanish keyboard, swype, slideit, etc... will not work with this.

Sort of a suggestion
I can't help you directly with Arabic or Farsi but i have enabled mine to handle Japanese, so it is possible to use other languages than Latin based alphabets.
My suggestion is that you go to Market and look for Arabic & Farsi soft keyboards. They will usually also come with support for the most popular Arabic/Farsi IME.
The other thing I suppose is that you want support for Right to Left text display? I am not sure if an Arabic IME will come with that support. For example, Japanese can also be written vertically with the columns going from right to left. I haven't found support for that in any of the IMEs. So it will be trial & error.
PS. IME = Input Managing Editor

thanks for answering ..
when i install the keyboards the words on messaging or the web browser in Persian language are shown with space between hem
any Idea
Have you checked in settings? It might have a setting for automatically using space to save time, especially if you mix it up with words in an alphabetic based language.
