Just follow the instructions in this thread... since you mentioned you are having a Indian SGS II it should be running the XWKE8 kernel so use file that corresponds to your kernel.

Searching in XDA is not very difficult plus reading beforehand is an awesome practice
You should first ROOT your device, see this:

1 st root ur mobile = that is getting administrator rights
then install custom recovery like clockworkmod
then you can download any rom(compatible) and flash it to install

I recently bought a GT I9100g from China and need a step by step idiot guide to change the ROM etc to a UK variant.
I have tried searching google and many other places for a simple guide. The phone is currently using ICS 4.0.4

hey guys i have an samsung galaxy s3 i999v but i dont see a forum on xda for that type i wanna root this phone so i can flash costom roms etc ,its on 4.1.2 so can someone please help me out on my first step
