I was hoping someone was able to do a Dark Edge kinda theme like the gold one. I just remember having the droid one and it was a AWESOME looking theme. It made the phone look so clean, and i think it would be amazing to have for the Atrix. If so please let me know!!

The only reason i love this theme is that it made the phone look awesome!! when it had the whole dark look with the nexus style wallpaper it was awesome!! So please let me know.

They got some pretty tight requirements for using/porting their themes:
"THIS THEME IS NOT TO BE REDISTRIBUTED, MODIFIED, RELEASED or UPLOADED as your own.
If you would like to use any portion of this theme or port to a device/ROM we don't support, send an email to our team @ DarkEdge support.

Ya im not a big fan of the adw launcher themes for dark edge iv tried them and they dont like as clean cut as what they have! So if any one can in any way please do let us know, its an awsome theme! and im sure many of us would love to see this on the atrix!!

Unless they've filed in court or have a poor man's copyright hidden away there is no such thing as ownership of a theme. It's more a respect thing.
Poor man's copyright would be a stamped, mailed (post marked), unopened, copy of the files needed to prove ownership should it be taken to court. The judge would open the envelope and check the date/time stamps.

Yup, way we would do this when I was back home in the UK is to use airmail paper which is also the envelope, and mail to yourself. That way whatever you want to copyright has the date stamp from the Royal Mail on the same document, and not on a seperate envelope.

I have a purchased livewallpaper from the market (hence, its paid app). i ripped the jpegs that make up the livewallpaper and am using them to create a bootanimation for my theme here on XDA. the only way i will be altering the images is by placing my theme logo in them.
if i have a email granting permission by the developer of the live wallpaper to use these images for a free theme on a public forum.....is this considered warez if i do in fact use it for my theme?

I believe Warez is defined as full software packages redistributed in whole without fees or royalties to the original creator. Not sure using a piece of the whole would constitute Warez, although with a paid app I would definitely seek perms and/or keep that email on file.

Most devs are ok with using their work, as long as credit is given where its due. Cross my fingers for ya.
I wrote music for many years (for TV mostly) all intellectual/artistic rights are about the same and follow the same rules.
All pictures/ art/intellectual work if published correctly are copyrighted so get permission, In the law you can give credit (even if no formal permission is given) if use is for a public nature and no one is profiting from it, BUT, this exception a tricky one and many people often step over this line and then end up begging for forgiveness. Essentially, the threshold is : did the original artist/etc being identified as the creator or is the modifier gaining notoriety as a result from someone elses' work.
Simply put, Get permission much easier, or take the original work and modify enough of it to make it your own (somewhere in the 30%-40% range)

Remove the .zip from the end it is a plane jane apk file. not an updaet file. you can stick it in an update.zip template file or try putting it in the system/app folder and setting permissions.
Ok, so here is like my first attempt at changing over to something completely different with a common theme in mind. I have to give credit to 10tonhammr and ktt16 for their original creations of these apps. I will be doing more themes for different movies and games, and maybe even taking some request if you like them. Please keep in mind I am very new at this so it will not have sparkles on it but it will look different. Hope you all enjoy, let me know of any issues you have.
Big credit to Admiralj21, a huge help when it comes to this.
Install: Wipe cache, wipe dalvik, flash and enjoy.

Nice work! To change that contact image in the dialer from the guy with a ? to something else you need to go into the blur-res.apk...I forget the image name but I think it's ic_thb_... WORD.

Hey man, what tool did you use to change the color of the icons like the arrow and delete button. I have one that I use, but its not really efficient and it takes too long for me to modify anything.
You can use GIMP. But for my theme i used illustrator and Photoshop.

Since I do this at work I can't install many programs for graphics so I mainly just use Microsoft Office Picture Editor to do most everything. It's nice because if you wanna keep the pictures and just change the color it's very easy with this.

Oh ok, thanks to both of you for that info. That will really help speed up the process of theming, so I won't spend so much time on one thing.

I was actually gonna see about themeing out some more apps, but seeing if someone could possibly do the scripting/code on it because as much as I try I just can't get it at all. But I wanna make all the apps themed to one thing and try that. If you would be interested in that let me know and we will see what we can come up with.
P.S. Would you know how to change the color of the numbers and words on the dialer and in call?? I'm guessing it is in the xml's because when I change the color of the pictures it doesn't change on the phone. I want to make a white modern warfare 3 dialer/phone apk but a white version. I just want to get the numbers black in it and I can't yet.

Don't theme non-stock apk's...the updates are consistently changing them back to the default..it's annoying, use a launcher, and then change the icons out one by one...it's faster and easier.
With regards to the #'s and text, it's probably in an xml file that you'll need to learn to code. It's probably not that hard once you've figured it out, but I think it'll be much easier after. I haven't had enough time/dedication to do it...I prefer a dialer in black anyway..
For a theme I would prob only want to theme the stock apks unless someone asked for a specific non stock apk theme. Otherwise you would just be putting stuff on there they wouldn't want anyways to just have it deleted.

Aww, haha i'm on Playstation3, but i'm thinking of buying an xbox too. Which scripting and code was it you needed help with, the edify scripting? But yeah that sounds pretty interesting.
Yeah I haven't figured out the black numbers yet either because I was going to release a clear dialer, but haven't yet because of that. KTT16 is probably right though, it may have something to do with the xml documents. I just haven't taken out the time yet to figure it out, things have been a little busy.

Oh ok I see, yeah coding is not the easiest but i've gotten better. Yeah I can do some of the coding for you, just keep in mind i'm still learning too. But other than that sure I will help you with what I can.
Hopefully, we can all learn a little bit and create some more good looking themes.

Yep that is what I hope too. I'm also hoping that the xml files are set up like html since have do have a background in it. I will look over them soon and see whats up.
I have 3 in mind that I wanna work on. Mainly an all modern warfare 3 theme (maybe a white and black version) an all black based theme and an all white based theme. My top favorites anyways. I have a feeling I can figure out how to change the colors of the numbers but not much else within the code. But im up to help with anything. Im working on getting another laptop so I can use all my programs to make better graphics and some bootanimations.

Lmao I hear ya. I have two desktops now (one pentium 4 and one an amd 6 core with 12 gb ram :0 this thing is a beast) but I use them from regular computer and the other is for recovery old hard drives and stuff. That's why I wanna get a nice laptop so I can work on stuff away from home too.

Playbook was a flop but its screen overlay was very impressive and praised alot because it was one of the most interesting features of that device. well now this is coming to Android and might be integrated into future devices also. can't wait to get this app. very clean and slick looking. plus not a pain to set up like Hubs. IMO this is like Hubs taken to the next level. even has face unlock for having different profiles. just like a PC. so your kid or someone else could open it up and have their own profile and be limited to what kinds of things they can access based on what you allow. Looks very promising and coming very soon.

+1..Hubs looks too complicated and/or time consuming to set up, just watching the youtube video instructions made me quit. I would gladly pay for something like this in a heartbeat. I can imagine an Ipad owner sitting across from me watching this in action while they just scroll through enlarged icons. Android for life!!

I really hope it will be. but if this is as good as they describe in the article, then this might go deeper than what an app could provide. might be something that has to be integrated into the framework. Regardless if its integrated into future Android devices, our great developers here should be able to easily integrate it into their roms. or maybe make the Chameleon overlay a flash able zip or something. I really hoping for a simple app install though..lol. we will have to see how this turns out. this could be a game changer for android. I love the hubs look but way too much involved to set it up. this is something that would be implemented easily and not need as much time setting it up. plus it would be slick moving and look better.
this kind of reminds me of that cornerstone multitasking setup. but integrated as a homesceen UI.
they do say though that they want OEM's to support it so essentially it would be like sense or blur as it will be integrated.

It looks amazing, but it doesn't seem to have the same range of customizations as we do now. If we could perhaps trigger the overlay with a Bezel gesture (top down like on the Playbook), then yes, I would be all over that.

Now THIS is what I'm waiting for. All launchers kinda look all the same, just different widgets.. This is something completely different, and I can't wait to try it out. Will gladly pay good money for this, hope i comes with instructions, or as a stand alone app/launcher..

Just sent a pm to ask the use if he has permission for themer MyColorScreen.
And the rate paid fro themes. As my thoughts are the same as your theme devs do all the work for someone else to gain.
And if I wanted money for the work I do I would have a donations button. But I don't I do what I do because I enjoy it and to give used that can't a choice in theme much like your self, create a theme and share.
