yes, it works with any iphone compatible headset... i've used my Astro A30's to make video calls on the TF
Mine does not work either. Neither in Skype nor in GTalk. It acts like there isn't a mike in the headset and uses the built-in mike. Same head-set/mic works on iphone and Galaxy S phone and on Galaxy-Tab...
What ROM are you running? I can confirm it indeed works. Built my own splitter cable so that I could use a separate mic and earphones with it.
Thanks!

Update: 2011/06/21 ---------- RMA'd my transformer due to the headset connection mic not working---
Received the new unit today and the mic port works great... I guess they've been in a bit of a hurry to get these eee pads out the door... Thank you to newegg for responding quickly and no charge.
Cheers, hope this is useful to you all, if it's broken, get it replaced, a.s.a.p.

It's work great with my JLAB jbubs J3M.

..Gtalk and Skype. And the Bluetooth Motorola S10-HD works too
As I hate earpieces in general, especially when using them for prolonged time.
Do anyone have a suggestion for a good headset with normal padded ear-muffs (unsure what they are called in English)?
The alternative might be to buy 3.5mm headset/mic to 3.5mm adapter (2xTRS to TRRS) and use one of my existing PC based headsets. Found one - see http://www.amazon.co.uk/Steel-Serie...GY/ref=sr_1_50?ie=UTF8&qid=1307990319&sr=8-50

Hi,
I didn't see anyone complain about their bluetooth headset audio quality, so this might just be my issue with my jawbone II. The jawbone is about 2 years old, so not the top of the line, but I get a lot of hissing and noise when using it. Is that just my jawbone, or is that typical of bluetooth headsets?
I thought it was digital, so should be pretty good?
Thanks.
Blueant [email protected], and T1 are clear as day
I use my moto s9-hd. No problems here.

Blueant Q1 and Moto S10-HD both sound fine.
Plantronics voyager pro+ here and its crystal clear. I talk on the phone a ton and it works great except for occasionally dropping the connection and reverting to the phone...spent all day on the phone friday and it happened a few times. Other than that no issues.

Had a rocketfish headset that sounded great and worked well for a couple months. But, you get what you pay for. After about 4 months it stopped holding a charge.

has anyone done this? i tried the stereo audio cable, male on both ends, to the mic port...nothing.
tried a three ring (left, right, mic) cable, male on both ends, from mic jack on phone to pc output and still nothing.
i did read about another guy trying to get audio from a separate mic during video but didnt get a solution.
anyone? can it be rigged to work?
je:good:
Play it through your speakers while using the phones mic ?
You did say from pc to evo right? Then why would you use the mic jack on the pc? Try the headphone output.
What are you trying to accomplish if I may ask?

Ok, fyi for the record.
The HTC Mic port is NOT standard. I used a standard plug with left, right and Mic to record a professional voicemail to my voicemail greeting. I actually had to dial into my voicemail from a Samsung phone and record the voicemail greeting. The port on the Samsung must be standard as it was the only phone it worked on. Tried iPhone 4, HTC evl lte, and my wife's Samsung old school little slider phone. Voicemail came out great...too bad I couldn't use my own phone.

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a bluetooth headset that integrates well with Google Now? I currently have a LG HBS700, but it will not work with Google Now.
Thanks!
Mike

Are you able to use all the GoogleNow functions, e.g. ask for directions, send a text message, etc? Did you have to tweak it at all to get it to work?
Thanks!
Mike
Jawbone.. they are pretty Much the best bt headset you can get. They have all the functionality you could need.

my blue ant T 1 seems to be working
My Motorola Sliver Elite only works while in-call or listening to media. No commands work at all.
Seems BlueAnt headsets work
None of my Motorola devices work. I use the MotoRKR T505 in my car. No voice commands, text messages don't read out. BlueAnt does have a mobile app to use with their devices.
I have actually used my Xbox 360 wireless headset. The one with Bluetooth and it works exceptionally well..

This is a pretty handy thread so I will add mine to the list.
Jawbone Prime - only works for calls. no commands.
darn! I have the original Jawbone and it's paired with my DNA. Ihaven't tried with calls yet but, it won't give any other audio? Music etc? Also not having luck with my RocketFish RF-MAB2
I don't think it is the headset. It appears to be an issue with the way bluetooth is implemented.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34348
I purchased a Jabra Extreme to replace my Jawbone Prime. Works just the same. The mic is not used for any voice input other than phonecalls.
I'm wondering if the people that say their headset works really did test with a voice-to-text app.
I have been using the BlueAnt Commute http://www.myblueant.com/products/speakerphones/commute/
It is working with reading the text messages but I cannot figure out how to voice call a contact. The instructions do not work on the DNA. Instead of searching the contacts, it searches the yellow pages and web for the name I provide.
Just wondering if anyone uses this with Skype, and what their views are. How does it sound on the other end? Are the onboard mics good? Has anyone used Skype with a Bluetooth headset and if so which headset?

Never tried Bluetooth sorry but my wired headset, mic works fine that was meant for phone.

Oh im not an apple fanboy trust me..lol..but..i do know the ipad works great with the headset i have while skyping..worked withou a hitch. I have an acer iconia a100 and a500..neither work with the Bluetooth while skyping. I just hate wires and plan to skype from the road. The headset i use is for truckers..a blue parrott b250 and it has exellent noise reduction. I wonder if its just an acer thing..maybe asus will be better for skype and bluetooth.

Overall it works fine. But if connection is bad quality on other side is bad and you do not see it. Quality on prime stays perfect.

Can any owner comment on how is the sound thru the Dongle.? I want to use my Bose noise cancelling headset which has a 3.5 mm jack.
Do the Dongles have a Digital to Audio Converter, like those for the Pixel 2? It would also be nice to be able to listen to wired audio and charge the tablet at the same time. There are lots of dongles that support this. Most of the dongles dont have a built-in DAC.
I'd be interested in an answer to that question as well. Just pre-ordered my MediaPad M5 Pro model including the M-Pen as well as the Keyboard-Case. Would be great to know how it works before it arrives.
Sent from my HTC U11 using XDA Labs
The sound is very good, equivalent to my nexus 7 2013. I don't think the dac is in the dongle, I believe it makes contact with analog pins inside the usb-c port, but I could be wrong. No idea about charging at the same time, that's definitely not possible with the included dongle.
I bought a dongle that let's you charge and listen to music but it was just a cheap one and you can hear static when charging but I think that's because it is cheap
