I can't flash a theme on Gingeritis 1.0 - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What am I doing wrong? I downloaded the new ax6 green theme and when I flashed it after wiping dalvik I get stuck in the boot screen, am I missing a step?

Phone issue? Or ME issue?

When I had a captivate, anytime I flashed a new rom it wiped my phone. Now it looks like the theme is applied but all my applications, settings, texts, everything stays on the phone.
Also, I just installed the cherrypi rom and I don't have a camera app. Tried reinstalling and still nothing. Does launcher pro mess with roms? Didn't think so but checking...

Happened again, I flashed alien and it changes the build in settings but it doesn't remove anything. Kenn says that it removes bloatware but nothing was removed...

You need to wipe before and after flashing custom ROMs, bro.
If flashing via CWM, wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik... before and after.
If flashing via fastboot, do a "moto-fastboot -w", after flashing the rom.
Alright in CWM I select wipe data and wipe dalvik. It still doesn't wipe anything. I thought this was weird so I asked. I may just do it from boot (hold down after power on, select recovery, etc.). Ill try that and see what happens. Its just going to wipe from internal right?

You have to use tenfar's cwm to wipe. If you're using Rom Manager's recovery then the wipe doesn't work.
The best way so far to clean data is start phone in fastboot mode (turn on phone with vol down key pressed, then press vol up) and using command line send fastboot -w, if you need to delete other partition you can use fastboot erase <partition>, then fastboot restart
Thanks, I know what I did now. I updated CWM from the market and reflashed to a different version...it was working fine after I unlocked my BL, and then I thought it just stopped working. Thanks for the help folks!

Rom Manager and Boot Manager question

When using Rom Manager and flashing a new Rom through it. Does it automatically wipe phone and the caches? Same question with Boot Manager does it automatically wipe my phone and the caches when switching Roms? Or is it better to just use the recovery and wipe everything before flashing a new Rom?

Unable to flash ANY custom ROMs?

I can't seem to flash any of the custom ROMs and get them to run, they all hang at the bootloader (it says unlocked at the time)
I'm on rooted, unlocked, stock 2.3.4, and I've tried all the major ROMs multiple times (I'm positive they flashed correctly, and I've tried clearing/not clearing both caches, etc.) but I can backup and restore from CWM just fine
I couldn't find anything like this for the photon, but I feel like I'm overlooking something very simple
If it hangs pull battery, put back in press pwr+vol down, go to android recovery (by pressing down till you see it) then press vol up. Once I recovery wipe system/data and reboot.
See if that works.

maybe try to go back to complete stock and start over again
I've done both of those things
No luck
What is your cwm version? Try to use the latest on Joker's cm9 site.

I'm using 5.0.2.8
When I flash his recovery and try to enter it, it just goes into RSD mode
I use jokers cmw v3 I think that's newer than what you have

5.0.2.8 doesn't work to flash roms. You need either romracers cwm (5.0.2.7) or jokers v3. Jokers is a zip that you can flash from 5.0.2.8, then hit reboot recovery and you're set.

Hmm
Format data/ factory reset
wipe cache
go to advanced menu
wipe dalvik
go back
Install zip from sd (internal or external)
Also... you need to know if your current kernel version works for the rom you're trying to flash!!!!
MUUUCH CREDIT TO JOKERSAX KERNEL VERSIONS!!!!!!!
LOOK FOR VERSION 1.3
Also.. look for the Rocko 2.0 rom... works on my mopho..

Won't pass boot animation after flashing rom.

I've flashed the Cm Nightly, then the xperia rom. I cannot flash a ROM? I can really, but stays stuck at the boot animation screen. Just unlocked bootloader, and flashed that bat file for recovery. I did factory reset, wiped dalvik and cache, still stuck. I don't even have the stock one. Does it matter if I have s on? Am I missing something?

Amm first of all I'll recommend you to flash 4ext recovery.
Then if you have branded amaze then it's ohk you can flash the ics firmware and then simply wipe all partitions via 4ext anđ flash the Rom..
But if you have unbranded amaze then s-off is must and then further steps..
Have you done this! ?
If not then do this and for working device flash gb Rom if you have not updated yet

Already fixed. I installed TWRP v2.3.3.0 and flashed some unofficial Cm 4.2.2 rom and gapps, then flashed boot.img via adb. Now I have another problem. I have no internal storage. Only about 2gb.

This is just crazy, I'm going to attempt reflashing. Just bought this phone used yesterday. My battery went from 85 to 54 jut by booting to recovery, then to 9percent

I recommend using 4ext. I would also recommend starting from scratch. Put it back to stock and start over. Also wipe your battery in 4ext and calibrate it after flashing any rom.

I did. Everything works after a restore to stock, I just can't get any kernels installed without creating a boot loop.
