thanks guys i hope to see this possibility in future becausa some app does,t exist yet in android so it would be a nice possibility to have two os.
@mattfmartin :yes i know HD2 but i,m interested in evo 3d hardware too
I highly doubt you'll see Windows Mobile on this phone... Windows Phone 7, on the other hand, might be a possibility, but I still find it hard to believe someone would do it. I don't even see where anyone's attempted to do it to any Android phone.
Bragging rights.
I don't see why so many people dog Windows mobile OS's, when so many of them run Windows at home. There are just some things an programs that can't be run on Android. That is changing since Android is becoming very popular, but there are still some things that Windows phones can do that Android phones can't. If it happened, which is very unlikely, I would probably load it on my phone just to have it, but would probably never run it. I even switched over to Linux on my laptop a year ago and only use Windows when I am creating invoices since the program I use is for Windows only.

My dad had the HD7, but didn't like the OS. He took it back and got a Samsung Galaxy S 4G, even though I told him not to get a Samsung phone.

FWIW, I could give a crap less about running other mobile OS'd on the 3D, however, I would very much like to see actual windows (XP or 7) on this. Then we would have a tiny tablet PC, and a killer phone

Tried to unlock the bootloader through HTC's site and got an error code. Since the phone is not release I'm guessing unlocking it is not supported as of yet through there service.
Where did you get a Rezound so early? I want mine now!
nevermind.
Think HTC's bootloader unlock will work or will it need to be hacked off?

Apparently there was a glitch in Verizon's main system that allowed people to pre-order the phones, and it was open for a few days while dozens maybe hundreds ordered the phone. Many people got it with 1 day shipping.
It's been fixed as of today (or yesterday) so no more orders until the 14th.

Slightly larger then a Thunderbolt.
Always thought the 4.3 screen is the perfect size. The hardware looks killer. Why just a 1650 battery? The Thunderbolt came with a pittifull 1400 battery,, bumping it just 250 isn't very much. Maybe they added battery helping software to help aid the battery last longer. We hope, I want this bad ass phone, it has everything. This will be killer with ICS on it.

temp root can already be done, but we need S-OFF to unlock the bootloader to install kernels and ROMs.
I believe it's still possible to install ROM's with S-ON, not exactly sure though. I know you can't install custom kernels, radio's and other good stuff.

You saw a picture of droidtheory booting up ICS on his own personal phone....
A.) we still have no fail safe, not even his roms are available for download
B.) did you look at the picture at all? He doesn't have any service, on top of the fact that it will take a long time to incorporate blue-tooth, 4glte, camera support and other things.
C.) Its not the official ICS, so no, im not wrong.
But i never asked for the official ICS and also most phones don't get service when a rom first boots...

They are refering to the official ICS update from Motorola for the Razr, which according to Motorola, will be about six months from now.
I'm sorry that my first post adds nothing to the conversation. I've just been reading through the forums and looking at everyone's experience. I'm upgrading from the CrapBerry Storm2 to the RAZR this week. I've been looking forward to the upgrade.

Motorola officially said that the Droid Razr was getting Ice Cream Sandwich "in the first half of 2012".
To an overly enthusiastic customer, that means it's coming January 1 2012 @ 12:01am.
To a customer-screwing company like Motorola, that means June 30 2012, with a bunch of delays that push the date out by 3 weeks to July 2012. Call me jaded, but I no longer believe anything Motorola says until it actually happens. And even then, I have to wonder whether Motorola intentionally did something good, or if it was an accident.

If you're coming from a BB, this will be a ridiculous upgrade. Heck, even the Thunderbolt was a silly good upgrade from a BB. ICS will just be the eventual icing on the ginormous cake.

I just wanted to know if there will ever be an official release for Android 4, as this seems to be the way forward with Android devices. Thanks.

anything new?
Anything new on rooting 2.06?? Is there really no other way (such as using ruu or alternative pc work) to restore to an older firmware which is rootable? There must be SOME way.

If you jtag your device you can revert to the old firmware and unlock and root it. There is no other way.
future?
that sucks. Whats the outlook for a likelihood that they will find a root method for this update? Is it just a matter of time or is it worth jtaging?

Everyone can wait for this phone to be rooted once again , but I would bet that most of the Devs involved have moved on to rooting more in demand phones at this point . I am S-Off , but if I wasnt by now I would have J-Tagged because honestly I wouldnt hold my breath on a Root to be found at this point . I could be wrong but I doubt it , This is just my two cents .
Several devs are still working on it. They are having trouble unlocking the bootloader on 2.04. 2.06 is even harder from what I have read. They have root but its only temp from what I can tell. It won't stick because of locked bootloader.

Temp root would at least allow us to remove the bloatware, which is one of the bigger annoyances for me. I'll go searching for that information, but if you happen to know where to look, I'd appreciate the link.

Nope. /system is write protected. To the end user(you and me) temp root is all but useless. That's why wasn't released. All it has a use for is finding other exploits/making them work. It's likely that the new s off method starts with temproot.

We have s-off. Just have to wait for beaups to complete and release it.
