I dont understand something
i passed my nokia pictures to the computer, and when looking at picasa - it knows the real date and time which i took the picture.
BUT after copying those pictures to the GS2 using keis, the time for all of the pictures is the time which i passed the pictures to the phone.
any solution?
please, im a noob and not a progammer, i'll be happy with a simple noob friendly solution
thanks

I am looking for such Windows Application since a time, have you found any way to see the icon. .
i'm looking for...
i just tried a Droid Explorer but i can not found a way to explore on the Actual PC. then i have try an other Windows program called Icon viewer but than only works on a dll and exe files, i try changing the extension but didn't work...
the only way that i think it should other that writing a windows applications is to use the emulator with a Virtual Device, then run a File Explorer APK and look in to it. i did but i try to find where is the SD Content in to the PC and i think i found it in to the /User/.android/avd but no lucky putting the apk file on it, i will check it later but i think that one way to do it, i need to read more about the content storage when using the emulator..
Maybe someone could make an addon for Total Commander. Should be very possible to have it extract and use the icon inside the APK.
It already has addons for Blizzard MPQ files, C64 emulator files and Amiga emulator files. Seems very possible that it could get an addon to show this icon as well. I use it to browse APKs already.
i was checking File Expert and just notice you can share or see the SD card content from your PC, but also notice, the APK's you can see how the actual icon for the app looks like...
is there someone could make a modification to this that we will be able to see our Hard drive Apps also?? or could be also good to have a chrome or firefox extension that allow us so see the icon of the app, i'm not expert on this...
regards

Hi,
how do i get access to the wallpaper directory. I would like to replace on my tablet the original wallpapers with custom ones. I do not want to crop or use the Gallery for wallpapers all the time.
My tablet is rooted and i have read somewhere that the directory should for the wallpaper should be
/Data/Data/Com.android.settings/Files
but somehow i cannot access. Every time i click data nothing happens.
Thanks
Just place your wallpapers on the sdcard and you can use them. I think the stock wallpapers are in the launcher apk. Some custom ROMs and DocRambone have taken the wallpapers out for optimization.
I believe they are in the framework-res.apk
system/framework/framwork-res.apk

THANK YOU for asking this question! I have been looking and searching for a way to find my wallpaper (with no success until I found your post). Your path worked for me.
My steps:
I used Solid Explorer as the file manager
Then using the toolbar on the right-hand side of the screen, I went to Jump > Device > System root.
I located the data folder and clicked on it. I was then prompted by Superuser for admin permissions.
I then proceeded to data/data/com.android.settings/files where I found a file called "wallpaper" (no file extension).
At this point I copied that file to my Pictures folder and added ".jpg" to the end of the file name.
Suddenly, there was that elusive, original file, of the photo I had been seeking for so long!
I had taken a trip out to the "sticks" to a cabin that my family owns. I had taken lots of pictures, but through the course of several events all of the pictures (save this one) had been completely lost. As a result this photo became very important and iconic to me. Thank you Internet, and thank you indianx for posting the question. I now have my picture back and secured.
Hello,
I want to share a little program with you guys
GalleryNameFixer as the name said is a program to 'fix' gallery photo's names (eg in SXS, or Desire S).
the original name of the files in SXS is DSC_XXXX... no comment on that...
My program searches the DCIM folder for files, take theirs last modification time (creation time IF the file wasn't edited!!) and name the file like this: YYYY-MM-DD_HH_MM_SS[_X].EXT.
the [_X] is when 2 or more pictures was taken in the same second (the X starting from 1)
PS: If the 'preview only' chceckbox is checked NO files will be renamed!
PS2: It will delete all the files in folders named ".thumbs*"
Hope you like it

What do you mean by 'unusable' ??
I have some in preview, and the rest in file without an extension, and impossible to open it as an image, nor on the pc.
a corrupted file.

I've tested this app on 2 phones.
Can you tell how many files show the app?
And how many files you have in subfolders of DCIM folder.
Your phone is Xperia S?
The application indicates 173 files, and although two sub folders.
In reality there may well have nearly that many files.
Yes it is a xperia S.
I remade a test, the operation well, but the preview mode is active when the checkbox is checked or not.
In short, I advise those who want to try to make a backup before.

This is not posibble
I tested this app on one more phone - tomorrow I will test on 2 more.
the phone is xperia x8.
Everything go well, no errors, files have a good new name.
I really don't know why you have files without extension...
Here are some pics.
I tested again, the operation has functioned properly, I do not understand why.
Strange
hey there,
first of all, im running AOKP ROM 4.4.4.
today I took many photos using the deafult camera app and I know they are on my device .
for some reason i can see them on my device but can seem to find them when i browse the device via the computer.
I already checked im going to the correct path of the photos...
another weird thing is that I managed to find some of the photos I took today, but no all of them..
also, this ROM dosn't seem to have the option to move the place of anything (Really weird)...
what can I do to fix this?
thanks in advanced.

You should create a thread in general Q/As section.....
Your photos should be in DCIM folder or depending on your camera app. If you still don't find them go to gallery and go into properties, you will find the path.

try downloading a file manager app from store and move/copy them to another location, maybe you can see them that way. I use ES file explorer
Have you changed the directory of the where you save your pic's from camera ?
