My S2 is 16G version of Europe stock ROM XXKE2, recently Hong Kong stock ROM is out.
I believe HK S2 is 8G internal.
If I flash my Europe S2 with Hong Kong ROM ZSKF1, do I loss 8G storage ?
As recently I flash my wife Galaxy ACE Hong Kong version with Europe stock ROM 2.3.4, as Asia still do not have gingerbread ROM. It work just fine, of cause ACE has same internal storage, so no issues.
thanks
James

jje

Is there any official ics/jb update for galaxy s2 middle east version??
Also i heard in ics ram gets reduced to 600mb does that affect performance??
What if I flash indian firmware(im currently in india but my phone is.frm middle east(uae)) will.that brick my fone?
Have you checked www.sammobile.com? and no, you can flash any region's firmware on your device. Have you considered rooting your phone and using custom roms?

No, you can flash any unbranded firmware. It doesn't matter whether its from Germany, Italy or Antarctica. It won't brick your phone. However, make sure you flash the proper firmware, don't download a stock ROM for the G version if you have a non G version, or a carrier's firmware.
Edit: there is an official ICS update for Saudi Arabia of ICS 4.0.3, but no jb for s2 anywhere in the world yet.

Dear all,
I think I have soft bricked my S3. I had stock Hong Kong 4.0.4 installed but for quite a long time the 4.1.1 update was not made available for Hong Kong region. So I flashed stock rom Pakistan 4.1.1. Afterwards when the Hong Kong 4.1.1 was released, I flashed again to Hong Kong from Pakistan. I have done flashing my S3 and Galaxy Note many time without any problem but now, my S3 is giving me problems. There was some problem with the hong Kong rom (android system sometimes stucked) so i flashed back to Pakistan but ever since, neither of these ROMs are working anymore. When I complete the flashing process, and the phone restarts, it stucks on the Samsung logo. I tried to flash custom rom like Cyanogen and MIUI and they work fine but not the stock roms. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks

+1 :highfive:
I am searching for the above stock firmware as I have recently updated my Xperia GO to ICS but the battery life is terrible and the phone doesn't perform as well as it did before on GB (yes I have factory reset it etc).
Hence, I would like to flash back to the original firmware if I can find the correct version. My phone was bought here in the Philippines but the only firmwares I can find from searching are from India or Russia?
Thanks in advance!

Yeah I saw your post. Your Firmware is Russian right? Will that be okay on my phone as I bought it here in the Philippines. I'd ideally like to get the original firmware it came with if possible...
I have recently bought this device GAlaxy s3 i9300 and running it on rootbox 3.6
The android version is 4.2.1 and kernel I'd siyah 1.8.9
Now my s3 is a 16GB one.I also use a 64 GB sd card.anyways.why does it show two storages as 16GB when it is one single storage?I've attached a screenshot below:-
your'e getting this at settings>storage ?
Nope.only in task manager and other non system apps that show storage info.
And yeah I had a galaxy s2 16GB which included 2 GB internal storage +11.5 GB internal SD card +external SD card
Whereas in the s3 16 GB I have just 11.5 GB internal storage
If the s3 is 16 GB normally 14.5 GB is available.so where is the rest of the 3 GB of storage?!
Odp: [Q]Why does my galaxy s3 I9300 have multiple storages?
Maybe the app is buggy...

Is the SD card FAT32 formatted? If not, there is your answer.

You didn't get what vim trying to say.my external SD card is fat 32 format and it works fine.
My question is about the internal storage
If I have 11.5 GB which I can use and 1 GB allocated for the system then where the hell is the remaining 2 GB ??
11.5 gb is normal. I have the 16gb LTE version and I only have 10.9 available. It's totally normal, don't worry about it.
