I have recently bought this device GAlaxy s3 i9300 and running it on rootbox 3.6
The android version is 4.2.1 and kernel I'd siyah 1.8.9
Now my s3 is a 16GB one.I also use a 64 GB sd card.anyways.why does it show two storages as 16GB when it is one single storage?I've attached a screenshot below:-
your'e getting this at settings>storage ?
Nope.only in task manager and other non system apps that show storage info.
And yeah I had a galaxy s2 16GB which included 2 GB internal storage +11.5 GB internal SD card +external SD card
Whereas in the s3 16 GB I have just 11.5 GB internal storage
If the s3 is 16 GB normally 14.5 GB is available.so where is the rest of the 3 GB of storage?!
Odp: [Q]Why does my galaxy s3 I9300 have multiple storages?
Maybe the app is buggy...

Is the SD card FAT32 formatted? If not, there is your answer.

You didn't get what vim trying to say.my external SD card is fat 32 format and it works fine.
My question is about the internal storage
If I have 11.5 GB which I can use and 1 GB allocated for the system then where the hell is the remaining 2 GB ??
11.5 gb is normal. I have the 16gb LTE version and I only have 10.9 available. It's totally normal, don't worry about it.

My S2 is 16G version of Europe stock ROM XXKE2, recently Hong Kong stock ROM is out.
I believe HK S2 is 8G internal.
If I flash my Europe S2 with Hong Kong ROM ZSKF1, do I loss 8G storage ?
As recently I flash my wife Galaxy ACE Hong Kong version with Europe stock ROM 2.3.4, as Asia still do not have gingerbread ROM. It work just fine, of cause ACE has same internal storage, so no issues.
thanks
James
No you cannot wipe hardware by flashing .
jje
you will still has 16g size, and partition size unchanged?

Guys, I've put the cwm.zip on my external SD card to run the clockworkmod and root my galaxy s2 without change the kernel and without the yellow triangle. And now I'm wondering if this external SD cwm works to flash custom Roms, because its gonna save time to me.
Thanks a lot

Yes it should...

Yes, you can flash ROMs and other packages form external SD.
Even with the stock kernel and the stock firmware 4.0.3?
Cause, I know there's some kernels that could brick the phone when you try to flash Roms with them.
The stock kernel is not that case, right?
Just remembering... My recovery mode is the stock. I use de clockworkmod only when I install it from the external SD card. So that's OK to install a ROM like cyanogenmod by this way?
I'm kind of afraid to mess things up
Thanks for all the help guys

All stock kernels for 4.0.3. Firmware are safe. Kernels for 4.0.4. are problematic.

I think you mean CF-Root kernel? Each other kernel for 4.0.4 is safe.

search for threads related to minitool partition wizard. also, you will need a rooted phone.
Hi,
I need Samsung galaxy S2 Gt-i9100 Kernel with Swap partition allow.
I have S2 with Jelly bean 4.1.2 installed.
I need to increase RAM with my external SD card, however I am not able to do because of Kernel not compatible with Swap partition.
Thanks
