Hi, I watched many review of evo 3d but I still do not know where this phone has got a speakers and how many is it?
It has a slim speaker just to the right of the 3d cameras.

More than likely mono. I don't understand why, in 2011 are HTC Smartphones not utilizing stereo speakers. My LG MM-535 back in 2005 did it and my Samsung MM-A920 in 2006 did it, what in the hell is going on here?
Im disappointed too. no stereo speakers, no gorilla glass no rec in 1080p. Im not sure about this phone

Alright, it's 1080p playback. Still has gorilla glass though.
I believe the processor is capable of recording in 1080p. It is mentioned that it is capable of encoding and decoding 1080p video. So this should be fixed through a firmware update.

The processor is a MSM8660, in the specifications sheets, it is mentioned that it is able to decode and encode video up to 1080P. Now megapixels should not matter (I believe 5 is more than adequate) when it comes to shooting high definiton footage. I think it comes down to whether the sensor is capable of doing so. Now my expertise doesnt lie in photography, so if anyone does know if it comes down to the sensor and the lenses, please inform us so. I do know that the processor is capable of doing so.

Different screen technologies. The Evo uses a parallax screen which blocks one eye from seeing what the other eye can see which creates the 3D effect. See here for more info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallax_barrier
Hence when you close one eye you lose 3d because you arent seeing one of the images at all. And when you are looking at 3d media if you change the viewing angle a lot the image will flutter.

because the 3d on the evo is a gimmick, and 3d on tvs is not.
TV uses glasses with a shutter IIRC, wherein the glasses simulate a left/right motion or up/down (or both) 120+ times a second to help create the 3d effect.
Or I could be totally wrong, I'm just trying to recall what I was told....
Shutter Glasses are vital signs for creating a 3D effect. The shutter glasses are basically an expensive pair of glasses, which has a layer liquid crystal on lenses that turns dark when voltage is applied. Infrared help in signal transmission to sync the Shutter Glasses with the 3D TV set and it’s electronic circuits controls them in creating the 3D impact, when they are worn while watching TV.
The content for 3D are basically pulled out from three major sources.

All I know, my head hurts when watching too much 3D on an in-home 3D TV.

Proximity... You'd need to remain in a relative position to have optimum viewing of the displayed media for the EVO 3D.
I can sit in almost any location where our 3D TV is located and have a decent view of the screen still.
EVO 3D, I have to keep it in a good somewhat consistent location to view it decently.
The wikipedia posting above has a lot of good information for how our phones work.

Because the screen on the 3vo requires your eyes to be between certain distances from the screen, and facing it head on in order for the effect to work. With TV, people will all be watching from different angles and distances, so it won't work for that.

Toshiba is working on glasses free 3dtv. They had a prototype of them at this past CES in January. It worked pretty good and you didnt have to stay in one spot or view it face on.
I can't find the link (more like too lazy right now), but it was just out at a convention in China I believe...
Lenticular lens lay over sheets to be placed on devices up to 23" for an affordable price are coming out in the near future it looks like.
Glasses-less 3D TV's are just around the corner... We're not that far off in technology land.

Pretty sure the Rezound only outputs at 720. I could be wrong though. If you have a "smart" TV, it should downscale...

Well...Sony has not even attempted plasma in years. Specially not the past 3 years. If your TV is a bravia and that old it is more than likely an LCD, though could be a LED. They had a few LED models 3 years ago. Like the XBR8.

Doesn't really matter. If you get a 1080p television, it will downscale. Also, on a small TV that's less than 20 inches or so, you can't really tell much of a difference between 1080 and 720. I'm sure someone will argue that point, but I personally can't.
I'd definitely recommend a Sony or a Samsung, though.

Hey people first off all I would like to say that I recently bought myself a new shiny S3 and so far love it. The one thing however that disapoints me is the quality of camera. I had an iP4s before this phone and I must say that it took much much better quality pics than S3 especially in low light situations. The difference in quality cannot be unseen, the pics are supernoisy even without zooming. So I'm asking, is it possible that I maybe got a defective camera on my phone? This fact really annoys me because I tend to use camera on my phone quite often.

theres been huge comparisons between the 2 cameras. Theres a thread on here that compares them in a bunch of different conditions and if i'm not mistaken the S3 edged out the 4s (sorry i dont have time to link it right now) .
GSMarena did a camera test S3 vs 4S vs OneX vs PureView and the results were (from best to worst) Pureview, S3, 4S, OneX
I guess it just depends on the way you take the pics but i have heard of some models shipping with bad camera modules... Could u post some pics maybe so that we have a comparison

Hello. I haven't used the camera much yet but i would have the iso off auto and set as low as possible. Image size at 8mp and quality set to superfine. That would be my starting point. The few photos i've taken so far didn't look rough like the one shown by op. Play with the settings and see if there's an improvement.

I was watching the new Star Trek movie in 3D in the cinema yesterday and I was wondering if you could watch Real D movies (like most of the ones in the cinema) in 3D on the Nexus using the passive glasses that they provide?

Has anyone done it?

I think i'm correct with what i'm going to say, so correct me if im wrong. You are trying to watch, with 3d glasses, a 3d film, on a NON-3d screen. Is that true? :silly:
It's like trying to make a video with a potatoe.
Lol, ok. Please correct me if I'm wrong too but there's no such thing as a 3D screen at a cinema. It's just a flat screen and the 3D comes from separating the colours slightly to give an illusion of depth. The N10 screen has more than enough resolution to achieve this precise separation and I just wondered if anyone had used it to view 3d on it. How awesome would that be?!

I suppose a 3D effect could be gained on virtually any device by using Anaglyph 3D - parts of the image are encoded in either red or blue, and the viewer would have to wear passive glasses to see the 3D effect. You would be hardware limited from displaying any of the "good" types of 3d...refresh rates aren't high enough and it simply isn't the right type of screen for lenticular 3D (as with the Nintendo 3DS).

Passive glasses need a polarized screen. The nexus 10 doesn't have a polarized 3D screen.

PS: Close this thread?
The difference in the cinema is that each image is passed through a polarising filter that matches each of the two on the glasses.
The light projected is polarised and the screen is irrelevant.
On a device that emits the light however you would need polarisation built or synchronised active shutter glasses.

This post might be kinda pointless, but am I out of my mind or does the evo lte have awesome quality recording compared to other phones or what? I've bounced between the Evo, a GS2 , a GS4, the One, and now back to this and none of them come close to the Evo , specifically I've noticed recording at concerts audio is very clear with very little crackle from speakers at all. Idk what kinda mic they put in this phone in particular but it should be in all phones lol.
