Got my extended battery today and put it on the charger. Once it got to 99%, it doesn't want to go that last 1%. Battery monitor widget shows it at 2722/2750 for the last 4 hours with a 200mah current the whole time. I've restarted the phone and cleared stats but that has done nothing for me.
Try powering the phone off and letting it charge until full, the light will turn green when done. Then power it on and let it charge again until full. That should do it. First charge until full may take a while.

Same thing here, I just rebooted my phone.
THUNDERCATS ARE GO

The phone was freshly charged overnight. I was using the internet while listening to music through (3rd party) headset and since the 3G signal in the building was kinda ****ty I switched the phone to EDGE (GSM only). Then I quit the Settings menu and opened Firefox, tried to load a web page and at this point the phone froze. I'm not sure if I restarted it or it restarted on itself but after the boot the battery was showing about 40% less. So I turned the phone off, pulled the battery, rebooted, same reading.
I used the phone for a while after that and now it's showing critically low battery and I'm wondering what should I do now?
Is it really so low on battery or the reading is wrong?
Can 40% battery disappear just like that and what could cause it?
Should I charge the battery or let it discharge until it turns off by itself?
Battery screenshot attached.
Perhaps a battery calibration issue caused due to the crash, my advice would be to drain the battery all the way down to zero and let the phone turn off, remove and reinsert battery and proceed to charge till full and then turn the phone on again. Hopefully issue should be a one-off and now resolved.

happend to me before on my htc desire hd..battery pulled and battery stats dropped down the gutter..just let the battery die and charge fully or even just charge it up to 100% from where u at now..doesnt matter it will fix itself...
My phone was doing the same thing, it was rebooting or shutting down two or three times a day, usually a few minutes after taking off of charge.
I have sent it back for a replacement.
Do not drain the battery to zero. There is not reason to go belox 10% charge, as you could damage the battery if going to 0. These are new batteries much smarter then old ones.
You don't need to drain to zero but it won't do any harm if you do. Probably a wee softwre glitch. Wouldn't get too worried about it.
a good option is battery doctor - its a free aplication from the market...
let your battery go down to 20% and then open the app in charging mode...let it charge(dont close the app during the charging process, just keep it open)...woallla.. u have made a full cycle charge - easy as that...
For some odd reason my phone won't charge past 98%?
I've tried clearing the battery stats but no change.
Any recommendations? I know its only 2% so its not much of a big deal.
Download Battery Calibration from the market and see what it says that your mv level is. it should be at or very close to 4200mv. Charge it over night and when you wake up check it to see what the max is...then hit Battery Calibration and don't charge it till it dies. My suggestion is to use it normally for the day and then play games or watch videos when you are ready to kill it. once you kill it let it charge all the way up again, then see what it charges to.
I'll let you know how it works out in a day or so.

This helped me with that issue
Funny trick. When it. Hits 98% connect it to your computer, mount it as none. And let it get to 100%. Then let it stay in the charger for 5 minutes after

Even when it says 100% it may not be charged all the way. Better to go by mV, 4200mV being full charge.
u don't have to download anything. just go into dialer and type in *#*#4636#*#* and open battery info. if u fully charged your phone, it should be at 4200mV. leave it plugged into the ac charger and remove the battery. hold in the volume down button and enter android recovery. erase battery stats then insert battery and reboot. should be fixed.
Im unlocked rooted running wetdream. Ever since installing it, the battery indicator wont show charge beyond 95%. When charging with phone off, it reaches 100% but as soon as I power on, it only shows 95%. I've done battery cal app, let die completely twice, charge overnight, pull battery while still plugged in (which I never got missing battery notice for) and wiped battery stats in recovery. Is this something I just need to learn to live with or anyone have any other ideas? Btw, im loving nottachs wetdream rom. I know this has been posted elsewhere, I've tried all those tips. Just wondering if there are any new tried tips I can look into. Tia

Have you tried a fresh reflash of the ROM after you did the battery calibrations?

How did it fix it for you? I tried it last night and still only reached 95%
No need of any app. Just drain the battery till it powers off. Full charge without switching it on. Should get the 100% bck.

i had same issue too, tried a full wipe or flashed different sbfs, but it didn't work at all.i guess it is gingerbread's fault.this didn't happened in 2.2.

I never had this on stock, but with the 10% changes in battery, would I have noticed.
When you are installing custom ROM, this is expected. You can try this,
Steps:
1. Drain your battery till gets shut off, then charge it till it says "Fully Charged" irrespective of 95% or 100%.
2. Once charged, Reboot the phone in recovery mode, keep the phone plugged into charger
3. Start it in Recovery mode using CMW, then remove battery stats
4. Switch off the phone
5. It show battery icon with %, with plugged in remove the battery
6. it will show missing battery icon, then insert the battery.. it will show 5% or 20%
7. Charge it for 3-4 hrs, then reboot the phone, you will see 100%
This Fixed for me...
Hi I've been using Neutrino for weeks and have not been able to get past 97pc battery using all techniques on xda. I finally fixed it yesterday when I installed clamsysns 1.5 kernel and charged over night and it was back to 100.

Just an update. I installed the newest version of wetdream yesterday. Got it to charge to 100% then thru resetting up phone and such, dropped to 18%. Recharged but didn't make it to 100% this time. Got to 95% but 4200mv, so I assumed full charge. At that time it was bedtime, so decided to just plug back into charger for the night. This morning it read 100% again. So its basically getting its full charge, just not showing all the time. A glitch I guess ill have to live with.

i am trying to do this, but no matter how long my phone stays connected it never says fully charged, just keeps showing the animated goo at 90% on top of battrey, it can do that forever, should i try what you said even if it does not say fully charged?
Ever since around the time i downloaded a battery indictor to show the %age in the notifications, i have been having some odd experiences.
It says its 100% charged all the time but it runs down to 1% within and hour and stays on 1% for a few hours.
But a few days ago, things got worse, now it doesnt ever charge, i plug it in and it says discharging. I left it charging overnight but it never charged. I have to plug it in and out a couple of times before it actually charges. And im pretty sure the battery doesnt last as long anymore.
Anyone else have this problem? I deleted the app already, put device on and off, unrooted, problem still there
is this a faulty battery?
go on pc companion and repair the phone. If this still happens then send it sony most likely a hardware fault
Did you try resetting the battery by switching off the phone holding the volume up button for 5 secs ?? Its as same as pulling out your battery.
Good afternoon!
This happened to my sxs during the first charge, when it charged up to 53%, no matter how long I left it on the charger. This was fixed with a simple phone restart, and never happened again since then...

Yeah tried that and I think it fixed it but I still can't get it to charge, just found out that once it reaches 100%, it discharges but doesn't stop discharging at 95% but instead doesn't charge until flat

The best option is to send the phone back to Sony
There are always be bad phones like 1 of the 10000. Maybe this time it hit you..
I've been having a really strange battery problem. I will have between 50% to 80% battery life. I will open facebook, either the app or through the browser, scroll down post for 1 to 2 minutes. Phone will say "You are now on emergency power please plug in to charge phone immediately", and then the phone will shut down. I plug in to charger I will be at 8% to 12% and charging. Leave on charger for 5 minutes will be up to about 16%, disconnect charger and reboot, phone will reboot and be back at 60% to 70%. Last night it would do nothing when I put on charger. Pulled battery, and rebooted, back to 70%. I'm unlocked, rooted, s-off, running Tachyon 1.2, I have the extended battery. Any ideas on what is causing this?

I could be that your battery is just shot. The first thing I would try is resetting the battery stats with an app like Battery Calibration and see if that helps. Other than that, try a Sense Rom and see if it correctly reads the battery stats. If that doesn't work, try a different battery.
Thanks, I tried the battery calibration last night, seems like it has made a difference so far, My battery is also getting some age on it, so I'm going to get a new one, just in case.
