I'm working on theming and customizing my Atrix. I've been using Minimalistic Text and Tasker for a few things. I've got it setup to show me specific notification types. Is there a way I can set it up to show me the notification bar if I tap it? Or even set it up to show current signal strength?
Thanks
I think that it's not possible to do that with minimalistic text, but you can try Zoom, a flexible widget made by the same guy that made Tasker.

Why not just use something like Elixir:
Elixir

I'm currently using LauncherPro Plus with the notification bar hidden. I wanted to be able to tap something on my home screen to bring it up, but I may try Elixir and see how it goes.
i know it's not the same launcher, but on Go Launcher EX you can set it to swipe-gestures on any of the dock buttons (ex. the apps button) hides/shows the notification bar

In settings you can set it so the home button hides/shows the notification bar when on the homescreen.

In launcher pro plus, if you long press on the app drawer button, and select swipe gesture action, then select Show/Hide status bar, it should do what your looking to do. Works awesome, doesn't get in the way of anything, and all you have to do is swipe up on the App drawer launcher icon. You can also set your messaging/phone icon to show missed sms/calls. Took me a while to find that feature, hope it helps.

Hello,
I have got WidgetLocker today..Now how to change the icon's (Lock icon Look and other's) and if we add a Widget to it how to remove it?
Thanks in advance and if I posted in wrong place sorry
right now it looks like this.I don't like this look how to change it?you can see pic Below

You have to actually launch WidgetLocker from the shortcut added in you App Drawer.
From there, you can edit the lockscreen to your convenience.
Long-click on a slider will allow you to (re)move it.
Right-click on an empty region of the screen will allow you to add widgets, shortcuts, sliders...

You need to install a widget that provides such notifications.
I highly suggest SMS Unread Count, provides notifications for Calls, SMS and GMail, plus you can customize the icon.

I came from Samsung and really miss the Menu Key at the bottom.
Z Ultra menu key is at the top in all programs and really a pain to get the finger there.
I found 2 Mods in Xperia Z forum and I think it may be work on my rooted Ultra as most of the things are same.
But, we don't have CWM Recovery and can't flash. Anyone able to try below?
4 Button Nav Bar: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386741
5 Button Nav Bar: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399012
I know Ultimate Dynamic Navbar, but it is not like real Navbar and cover-up the items(eg., Keyboard) under it.
Cheers!
You may try 'Auto Hide Soft Keys'. You will not need the cwm to install this app.

Thanks. But, I don't want to hide soft keys.
I just want Menu Soft Key in Navigation Bar(Soft Key Bar).
That one can make it happen, but as well as hide soft keys when you dont use them.
By the way, in my view, most menu still remains the same position on the top right of the screen, wherever appears the menu button.
So, hopes u know what i am saying...XD
Thanks. Auto Hide is quite same with Ultimate Dynamic Navbar and cover-up the keyboard.
But with UDN, the stock Navbar can hide and make Android think it has Hardware Menu Button. So, menu boxes show at bottom.
Just what I found out and still not found what I need.
Cheers!
I am using UDN, I think the App is Fantastic :good:

Have you tried installing the Xposed Framework + GravityBox?
Here's my setup (sorry for the screenshot; I'm a big Loki fan)

The leftmost button adds a sort of favorite app launcher that houses 8 apps you can predefine using GravityBox. The rightmost button is Menu and launches the menu on other apps as well.
I found that the transparency doesn't work though; the color must be hardcoded in by Sony. It's a problem that I'm willing to overlook because I have the extra two buttons though.
If you use an alternative launcher you lose the ability to double tap to sleep.
Using Nova Launcher Prime (and maybe other launchers) and a screen off app will give back that ability, but then you loose smart unlock.
The only way, with Nova, to turn the screen off and keep smart unlock is to double tap the notification bar or press the power button.
I've made a small app that simulates the later, it just "presses" the power button.
Using Nova's double tap gesture to run this app will give you back the double tap to sleep ability without losing smart unlock.
Unfortunately, you'll need a rooted phone for this to work. Sorry.
If you find this useful for you, just download and install the attached apk.
Nice, thank you!
Very nice, been looking for this forever. Nothing on the app store can do this!
i use nova prime, i double tap the screen to switch it off using the greenify shortcut and my smart unlock works as always....

This doesn't seem to work anymore in MM. Shame...
There are double tap with GravityBox or More Shortcuts (Play Store) without root.
Nova can anyway.

P.S. @wedge666
I tested your app, it is very good.
Needs no authority except root.
But why is it so big? I have found in the App over 900 0Byte files.

That's not the same thing at all. In fact, that's the reason this app was so great. This app mimicked the press of the power button alone. It didn't activate locking if just tapping the your power button wasn't set to lock.
There are many many apps that turn off the screen and lock. This one allowed you to not lock.
Maybe the gravity box option was like this, but definitely not the nova option.

And what do the many 0Byte files in the app?

I've been using LauncherX Prime and Tasker to get this done on all my phones It's a cool idea to simplify it, though.
Also sported in Action Luncher 3 if you enter settings..
You can add app screen off and tap on it anytime to turn off phone
After this update my navbar stays white. The themes do not effect it like usual and my options to set color are all white??? I factory reset after the update and still remains the problem

Go to the playstore and type in the search bar Navbar. Download the first navbar app that pops up and this navbar app should allow you to customize your navbar app to make it all black. Let me know if this works for you.

Tried a couple of the Navbar apps, didn't change it from white. I wonder who at Samsung saw that as an improvement. Makes my home screen ugly. I hope Nova comes up with something to fix it.
Hi guys,
Long time root user on every other device I've had, patiently waiting for our device to get root. But I did want to let you guys know how I corrected the white part over the navbar following the latest update. If you use nova launcher, you can set a gesture to hide the dock buttons, it's just a toggle (I have mine set as double tap swipe up) and it hides the buttons and makes the background of the nave normal again.
Lemme know if you have any questions.

I can change my navigation bar to six different colors other than white. You may need to activate the option to hide the navigation bar at the top of your picture before the colors become active. Personally, I his the bar and then just have to swipe up when I need it.

Is there any mod or something to lock the phone when I tap two times on status bar?
There is an in-built widget in miui to lock the device. Just add that widget to your home screen and you will be good to go.

What widget?
What about tap on the home button? Available on each screen, so as good as double tap on the status bar. Nova Launcher, even free version, can do this - in gestures, assign "lock screen" to home button, 1st tap will get you to the home screen, 2nd tap will lock the screen. On the home screen, 1st tap already locks the screen.
There is an option to set custom key to screen lock
I set that to lock screen on long press of home button

If you have miui rom no matter 9 or 10, stable or developer, you must have this widget. Just tap and hold on home screen, then tap on widgets and there you will see this widget. It is the lock screen shortcut in the form of widget.
Go to "Settings "> Under system and device, go to "Home screen & Recents" > Under "additional settings", enable "Double tap to lock screen".
It is valid only if you're using Poco launcher
