Simply honey XE pro to simply honey 3.6 revolution - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I like the 3.6 revolution, can anyone show the way to flash.need someone who can advise.

probably best to odin to 2.1 but can do it without
go to recovery
wipe data/factory reset
clear cache
flash 3.3 first and reboot
then flash 3.6 straight away with the CWM app as an update (no need to wait 10 min or whatever)
let it do its thing then your good to go
he's releasing an update sunday (3.8) so could just wait till then

Just came back from oversea.
Very thank you for your explaination.
Thanks a lot.

i dont understand your reply :-
3.3 there if you need it then flash light/med/large through rom manager
is it i can choose light or med or full package rom
or
flash light rom first then med rom then full package rom?
sorry for asking.
then do i need to disable lagfix before flashing?

when i did it the light had to be flashed first but i think you can just flash whichever now
could always flash the light first anyway then whichever over just incase, it wont wipe
you can leave voodoo on but i disabled it just to be sure
he put 3.9 on last night but pulled the DL link because people were having problems, think hes going to put it back tonight

[Q] NEED HELP ASAP droid eris rom/root

Yesterday i installed Kaosgingerbread rom to my eris and it worked sucessfully...but i found out that all of my apps are gone EVEN MY APP MARKET the only app i have is superuser so now there is no market to get rom manager.! WHAT DO I DO?! i need help asap please if you are reading this help me an and if anyone knows what to do reply or something!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much//// o yea and also my messeging works but when i try to add a gmail account it wont load successfully to..
You need to find the appropriate gapps zip file and flash it along with the new ROM to get market back. Flashing a new ROM will almost always delete everything on the phone.
OK i am kind of new to this sorrry for being a pain in the butt but can you explain it more because i really like the rom and all but besides the fact that i dont have the marketplace it sucks...so if its possible can you explain step by step and if not would it be possible to contact you through something like xbox or maybe email?

Most, but not all of the time anymore when you flash new ROMs you have to flash the GAPPs (Google Apps) package immediately after flashing the ROM, before you reboot into the ROM. Otherwise things like Market and GMail aren't there and you have a crippled phone.
You have to start over from scratch from recovery doing a factory reset/data and cache wipe and then flash the ROM and then the GAPPs.
Enjoy!!!

Not really true. When i flashed my rom I reboot to homescreen, then flash gapps from recovery. No need to reflash the rom.

AFAIK, this advise given by most of the devs in their ROM threads was based on some reports, from time to time, that people who hadn't flashed the GAPPs before booting the ROM, and flashing it after caused their phones to not behave correctly. Flashing it immediately eliminates any possibility that someone might have a problem with that particular part of it, so it's wiser to be cautious and just give the blanket advise to do it immediately than to chance that with some ROMs or some phones, problems might arise.
yea well.. anyone wanna post a tut. on how to do this or something

Download the gapps file from kaos thread. Place gapps zip along with the Rom zip to the root of your sd card. Reboot into recovery. Wipe/factory reset. Wipe dalvik. Flash Rom. Flash gapps. Reboot. Enoy.
That is very true. You'll get the jist of things when u flash roms more often
wait i havent done anything yet but is there a way to restore my phone just back to factory settings?

Reboot both devices (with the phone unplugged from the computer to start with) and try again. Also, you can mount the SD card via USB directly from Amon RA or Clockwork Mod Recovery. Something like Mount USB-MS in Amon. In Clockwork Mod, it's in the partitions menu.

I flash all 100% by Odin, when I restart the phone the old rom it is the same before

I flash all 100% by Odin, when I restart the phone the old rom it is the same as before.
All isntalo app after reset back to its previous state.
Anyone have any idea of what can be??
I am with the 3.0 rom villainrom
check in phone settings the version, if is villainrom or not
Also notice that most roms looks exactly like the stock one, but with hidden tweaks.
If you sure 100% the rom didnt installed, you prolly missed / done something wrong from the install instructions.
Anyway villainrom is a clockworkmod package if im not wrong, not a odin package that's prolly the problem
From villainrom thread:
"VillainROM Installation Instructions
To follow these instructions we presume you already have access to Clockworkmod recovery, and are able to put the zip file onto the SD card, and flash it."

The rom is the flash 3.0 villainrom own by cwm. .. Zip
everything I do, factory reset wipe, wipe Dalvik cash, everything seems ok at the time, but after a reset back to normal 5 days ago.
Never leave the rom villainrom, I can flash any rom either by Odin as the cwm and when reset back to the state five days ago.
I ask the descuplas very bad English.
So if i understand, dosnt matter what rom you flash, you always end up to have villainrom installed?
Weird.
Try to odin flash a stock rom and see if it overwrite the villain.

Question for someone new to DX2.

Hi guys I'm new here and I have some questions. Now, I know we're supposed to be rooted /stock before flashing a rom. What if I just loaded up the deodexed 2.3.4 and flashed the pulldown toggles? Does this still count as stock and I got ahead and flash a rom like this?
Also I enabled tethering via this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182940. I'm not sure how deep that setting is. Will I lose that if I flash a rom like liberty or eclipse?
Thanks in advance!
Mod, hack, and/or tweak to your heart's content while stock. Just be sure to wipe data/cache/dalvik before flashing another ROM. You don't need to be on stock before flashing any ROM as long as you wipe 1st. Even if u don't wipe and something fudges up you can always flash your NAND (backup) and you're fine. Oh, if u don't wipe, pls don't comment your issue b/c the first question will be, "did u wipe at all?". Have fun!
That tethering mod is permanent so i hope you kept the original files inn case you ever needed to send the phone in for a replacement..

[Q] Wrong Rom on the 5.0

Hey just asking if anyone has done this before. I accidentally flashed the wrong rom on a galaxy player 5.0. I think I used one meant for a 3.6 or something like that. After that I re-flashed with the correct rom. However, I'm having issues booting. It doesn't boot on the first try and seems to think it's charging. So something's wrong with the boot sequence there. The player also seems to suffer from poor battery life and sometimes from a full charge period starts up stating that it has 90% charge. I just wanted to post this here if anyone knows a quick way to fully wipe it down and re-flash. Otherwise, I'm going to try and restore it to stock samsung, re-root using odin and flash back up to the CM 11 Rom i've been using. Thanks in advance.
Try a different ROM, like Carbon 4.4.4

Can you enter recovery? If so restore your back up assuming you did made one . Can you enter recovery? If so restore your back up assuming you had one. if not flash new ROM/sideload ROM by using adb..before installing new ROM through recovery to forget to wipe system..

um not sure exactly. i would say try Wiping data, cache, and dalvik cache then flash the rom, kernel and gapps again.
or if you want to completely restart with stock rom and kernel flash this via odin. only for us version >> http://www.4shared.com/zip/hFJmoXTiba/YP-G70-UEKI8-Stock-USA-Meticul.html
all credits go to Meticulus for making that

Anybody getting the notification bar not working in fact it doesn't matter what app is open but the top won't work for a bit then it'll work again?
It did it on straight up stock with root. I've redone the recovery and flashed this ROM and its happenening again. It took a while to do it like a few hours or so. Any thoughts?

Its not just notification bar, its anything at the top like settings buttons or tabs. It literally just did it again for 10 mins after booting from being off. Its working normal again. Weird.

I just got home and asked the wife if our tablet had been acting up lately and her response was no. I did have a slight issue with my brightness and volume slider bars disappearing but that was the original stock rom. That was fixed by reflashing using Odin.
I assume you tried a factory reset and all the other standard fixes?
Sorry I can't help you more. Good luck
Are you familiar with kernel development? I see there are custom kernels for other galaxy tab models and even other SM-T23X models but nothing for the sprint variant. Or would anyone have any resources for me to possibly learn how to build my own ? thanks
work great in my tab, thanks for share mate!!

PS - I had recently gone back to factory defaults since it had been so long since last rom I felt i needed security updates.
I can't believe not one person has posted and said if the rom worked or not. Its been downloaded 50 times so I assume it must work.

Did you create a custom kernel? What method of root are you using (system-less, or full system root)? @moonbutt74 is working a custom kernel for the t237p, but not really sure how long it'll take...

This is a systemless root method, so if you factory reset you will loose root and have to reflash the beta 2.66 root zip. The kernel source has not been released yet for our device so until we have that there will be know custom kernel.
