Best kernel for Das BAMF 2.06? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody have some advice for the best kernel to run with this ROM?
I came from Das BAMF 1.7 with great battery life and speed, but the TH craving had me moving to 2.06 remix. I love this ROM, but I have two issues: slow battery charging and my battery life is way down. I wiped stats after flashing and rebooted during charge. The charge got a little faster but I have to do that every time. I read the threads in development section and it said it could be the governor or the kernel, any advice?

It should have come packaged with imo's 3.0.1 test 1 lean. They'd the kernel you need to use.

Try plugging your phone in and rebooting it. It should recharge fast then. There is a bug that cause the phone to charge slow until you reboot it.

I have done that, but I have to do it every time. A bigger concern is the fact that my battery is draining twice as fast as 1.7. Any advice? I love this rom, but I need better battery life.
BTW I changed governors, but no improvement

I may have a prob with my download. BAMF toolbox crashes when trying to look at battery stats

[Q] Which ROMs/Kernels for battery life?

For you users that have had the time to run a lot of different ROMs and Kernels, what has given you the best average battery life? I know a lot of this is relative but regardless.
I've tried liquid and BAMF and didn't find much of an increase over stock life. For each one I charged to 100% and used it for a ~17-20 hour period and compared. I've also tried a few under volted kernels.
I cleared all the caches and wiped battery life stats too for each rom.
+1. I think imoseyon's kernel might be working best for me with a max of 1.2Ghz but I haven't done that much testing.

I totally agree with you on imoseyon's kernels. His newest kernel, the 1.92, running at 1-1.2 Ghz is super stable/responsive but has, at least so far, given me improved battery life as well.
As for the rom, I'd have to go with either BAMF or Tesla personally.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Okay next charge cycle I'll try imoseyon's kernel.
Right now I'm back to debloated stock and running adrynalyne's undervolted 1GHz and seeing a bit of an increase in life.
Imoseyon's leankernel is doing it for me. I am using the stock rom with it and my battery life is better than when I was using the stock kernel. It is by no means a miracle worker but the improvement is very noticeable.

Back to froyo, need kernel suggestion.

Ok, so after flashing every new gb Rom, I've decides to go back to a froyo bases Rom because they're way less buggy, and get better battery life. However I remember that in the olden days when I was running bamf 1.5 I also ran imoseyons kernels and got insane battery life. I mean I could go like 16 hour and still have half a battery. I'm now in bamf 1.8.6 with new mr2 radio, but with the built in kernel, the charging time don't seem as fast as I remember and the battery life doesn't seen to be as good as I remember. Does anyone that's back on a froyo Rom have a suggestion on what kernel to use? Or a link to the old imoseyon kernels? Would those older kernels support the mr2 radio?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Here's the link, and yes they work. I'm running it know with the OTA radio and BAMF 1.8.6 and I love it.
Are you running at 1.4 GHz or in "battsaver" mode?
I'm running 1.4 "Normal"
Cool, thanks. I just loaded this up and it runs very well.
Ok, thanks. I'm running the lean in battsave mode. So far so good. Thanks.

ROM question...

Is there a better ROM than CM7?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Do you want funtionability or wow factor? I vote powerwash v1.2 for functionability and JT's Vanilla gingerbread for wow factor. I will warn you... there is a issue with gingerbread leaked roms(cm7, miui, vgb, aosp) frying sd cards.

I agree, if you want everything to work correctly and be iron clad go with Froyo based roms. I personally like the Evil Fascination. But the Com Rom2.1 has more features and customization. But once JT figures out the GB roms they will be what you want.
This where I'm a bit of a n00b...
Right now I have CM7 build #19 (the last two haven't downloaded for some reason, they get stuck at around 20%)..
I like the themes I have gotten my hands on with the CM7. I've been told CyanogenMod is the way to go always.
I did have an MIUI ROM for a little while until I got CM7.

Im getting almost 2 days battery life on powerwash with normal usage. If im constantly web browsing, downloading files, or excessive talk time, then 12-14hrs. Basically it seems like my battery life almost doubled vs stock.
Here is my setup:
Powerwash v1.2 rom
otb-fusion kernal
ec09 radio
Remember you wont get the best battery life right after flashing a new rom. Takes a couple charge cycles...

Quick question: with this ROM, where do I go for themes?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
In the theme section... there isn't a lot of themes on this rom tho. This rom is a daily driver per say.
I like MIUI better than cm7, it's got all the same things working (and broken) and runs just aas well but i really like the look and customizability.
This damn cm7 has made me feel like I'm going deaf at 28. The radio is so quiet.

Best ROM for battery life?

Well Ive been running CleanROM DE for a while now and I like it. Problem is the battery life is terrible for me. I've tried everything and I just cant improve it. I get about a 10 percent drop in an hour with light to medium usage. If the screen is on I can literally watch he bar drop.
what other ROMs can I try that seem to have good battery life?
Either of Chingys roms.

Agreed, I get amazing battery life on ineffabilis deus with the latest ics firmware.

+1 Chingy's roms.
I know the hardware varies slightly on each individual phone, but I'm getting the best on either Ineffibilis ROM, and also the last couple of Joelz BAMF roms.
how does chingy roms compare to clean rom dev in terms of battery life?
Are the ineffabilis GB ROMs? Im on the ICS firmware?

Thanks had a feeling that was.
I get fairly good life on newts one xxx rls. I got about 10 hrs today while streaming over 4g, texting, 2 calls and some Facebook. I'm sure I can get better battery life after I get over the excitement of sense 4
I have CleanROM DE 1.4 and it's the best battery life I've had, which leads me to believe you should be looking more for a different kernel. I've tried upwards to 10 different ROMs. I'm using the 3.13xx kernel he posted in Post #2 of that ROM thread.
Also, just a note, upgrading the firmware helped tremendously. Not just using the patch, but taking the dive and flashing the RUU. My phone got better with both battery life and heat.

Have you tried recalibrating the battery? It sounds like you have a bad battery or something.

Calibrate the battery how? by running it all the way down and recharging it? Yet that happens a lot actually lol
Is there something that can check the health of the battery? what MAH is left and things like that

Battery Monitor Pro is great. Even logs all that data and has nice graph. It also allows you to swap batteries and also the battery data with it so each spare battery you have is correctly calibrated.

I hope you don't mean recalibrating by clearing battery stats in recovery, cause that does absolutely nothing for battery life.

I was thinking the same thing.
Anyone test out any of the new ROMs on the new base...any help to battery life?

Mean Rom ICS vs. Viper Redline ICS

I'm trying to figure it out which ICS rom to flash based on battery life and I've narrowed it down to Mean Rom ICS and Viper Redline ICS, and I was wondering if anyone would mind posting pics of the battery times.
MEAN ICS v2.0
I'm currently running MR ICS 2.0 and I'm getting pretty decent batter life. I'll have a screen shot in the morning as I haven't actually measured so I'll do an overnight test and have the screenshot up in the AM. I haven't tried the ViperROm though.
I use MR also. Pretty decient useage and i get a solid 15 hours out of it. I tried Vipers ICS in the beginning and was getting about the same. Im not sure what he has changed since the first release. I would post a pic but i just switched back to a gingerbread Rom. ICS to me has some bugs and GB i was getting better battery life and faster performance.
Hope this helps
Any one have pictures ?

I went from Viper to MeanRom and never looked back. Even using Viper's CPU Control I still don't get the battery life that I do from Mean. Not to mention Mikey is focused on one sole device and Viperboy's attention is divided by at least two (3D and 4GLTE) maybe more I don't go to all the forums. Also, I use gps a lot my phone (Hardware Ver 2) runs a lot cooler with Mean then Viper when using the gps for hours upon hours. I've even used it for a 14 hour singe day drive once the screen was never off (I did use a car charger of course lol)
MeanROM.
Thanks!
Thanks Everyone! I decided to flash Mean Rom!

Or it could be what he has on his Screen. For Example he could have an alternative Launcher with one homescreen and a clock widget. And also i heard that if you use a regular black wallpaper it could save you quite amount of power. So maybe could throw in a Black Wallpaper in there.
