I used to have a somehow similar issue with phone app on every 2.2 rom i tried (2.2.x and gb were fine). Didn't found out what was the problem but I used Dialer One wich is a dialer app from market and that was it. Never had this issue since I start using that.
I flashed ciaox's OpenOptimus Rom on my Optimus T but today I tried to dial a number and when I tapped the dial button it just closes the app and home so can't dial numbers from the dial pad only stored contacts any help with this bug

It's got something to do with 3G settings or something like that. When I used 3G and internet, then I had the same problem. Switching to Airplane mode and back helped.
Now I'm not using any 3g or 2g internet on the phone besides WiFi and problem hasn't occured any more.

Having a problem making calls. When I dial via Google Voice, or by clicking a number in my browser, a +1 gets added to the number, and as a consequence I get an error stating the network is busy. If I delete the +1 before dialing I have no problem connecting.
I've played with various options that I found, to no avail.
I'm running Liquid Gingersense 1.6 (happened on 1.5, too), and I honestly can't remember if it happened on my stock 2.2.1
any help?
I'd guess it's a problem with your ROM. I run the current "stock" software (rooted, minus bloatware). I have all my Google Voice numbers entered as E.123 numbers, e.g. +1(800)555-1212. Works fine, as it should.
+1 is the country code for the USA.

Double post.
I'm aware it's the long distance code (and that I double posted..wasn't sure where I'd get the most traffic).
Problem is that i get the error "network busy. Please try again later". This happens even if I manually type the +1 before a number. So really the fact it's getting added isn't the problem. But it is superfluous.
So my question, part 2, should be: do you think it's still a ROM issue or a VZW issue.

Hello..
I have upgraded GO sms to latest version which solved double sms problem on ICS firmware of Galaxy S2, but I noticed one problem with this release of GO SMS.
When you click on contact icon in GO SMS list, a popup appear with Call, Detail... option.
After clicking on Call. GO SMS shows you possible numbers to call. But with the latest release of GO sms I cannot see phone numbers. Instead it shows me some garbage text..
Did anyone else facing this problem?? Is this because of GO SMS of a bug of ICS.
I am using I9100DXLP7 version of ICS
Updated to latest GO SMS pro this morning and I don't experience the same problem - sorry

this one also has the same problem
I'm having the exact same problem. However, I'm on an HTC Inspire running Gingerbread (CM 7.2.0-RC1). I assume this is a recent bug in the app, and it will (hopefully) be fixed soon.
Hello,
First of all, thank you for you all for you so good work !!
I have installed CM9 Beta4 on my Legend. Everything is OK (included GPS), except the reception and sending of MMS.
I tried everything I could find on google but I didn't succees to solve my problem (the default parameters of CM9 are good).
My operator is SFR (France).
Is there a solution or should I leave CM9 for CM7 ?
Thank you for your answer.
I tried with CM7 and it works ....
The stock messaging app does not work for mms, you need to use 3rd party app. when I'm on zeubeas rom I use handcent, you can also use go SMS but I personalty do not like go SMS anymore since its recent updates.
When using handcent you must change the settings in handcent and make it the default app to handle SMS and mms.

Thx ranger4740 but it didn't work ....
I tried with Handcent, then with Go SMS Pro ...
You also need to have mobile data turned on too, this is a common issue in cm roms. You will also need to check with your carrier for your correct apn.

Even with data turned on it doesn't work .... and for the parameters of APN I tried different parameters I found on google.
My carreir gives the parameters too for my phone (always the same parameters, except for the APN) but nothing works ...
I am condemned to retourn to CM7 ....:crying:

sorry I couldn't help
Sometimes I get lazy when sending MMS on CM7 regarding the toggling of mobile data, so I just share whatever image I want to send to the URLy app and send the link instead. Much faster than turning on 3G, selecting the image, waiting for it to send, and finally turning off 3G.

Thank you .... I will try.
But the problem is not the sending but the reception ...
OK, I think I found the problem ....
I deleted all APNs, I rebooted the phone and creates only the APN for MMS..... and it works !!! MMS can be send and I can receive them.
But when I create the APN for data it didn't work anymore ..... I am obliged to delete the data APN and to reboot the phone ...
I continue my investigations ....
Some news on my problem of reception MMS.
I receive a MMS message asking me to download the attachment.
When I click to "download", the icone "3G" (or "H") flashes 2 or 3 seconds, as if there was conflict with the connection of the data 3G (when 3G is active, no icone when 3G is not active).
I always look for a solution....
Thank you guys

Have a rooted and Romed ATT LGOG that was running CM10.1. Sometime in the last couple days my contacts app started force closing when I was using the dialer. Did all the normal..deleted all my contacts, re-synced contacts and still does it. So I tried a different AOSP Rom and it does the same thing. So today I went to extreme and flashed back to stock JB and it still does it!. Now on the stock ROM it won't do it until I use the smart dial, select the contact and tap dial, as soon as I tap dial it force closes. I can dial out any other way and it works fine....Does anybody have any idea what is going on?
My jellybean rom has been creating a lot of issues with the dialer.
When i try calling someone, it lags in dialing. When i get a call, and slide the green button, the phone still keeps ringing and gets stuck.
Is there a fix for it?

Bro, there are not many users complaining about this so may be its something on your phone, one thing is to go to Apps/All and clear dialer data, the other thing is to hard reset the device if you didnt after flashing JB.
I've been experiencing the same problem on my Xperia GO for months!
