I am on Mik's Cyanogenmod 6.5.4 beta with Franco's v16.1 BFS kernel + ZRAM. When tested on SavagedZen 710/480, my max Quadrant Advanced score was 1688. On an average, it is between 1430-1470 on Smartass....
hmmm it is great.
Mik's Cyanogenmod 6.5.4 beta with Franco's v18 BFS kernel + ZRAM. Smartass 748
Mine is between 1300~1400.
I'm wondering how some people can get up to 2xxx!
I think it says in my signature but 2200

BTW just done a Quadrant bench @729/480 (smoothass) with franco's 18.1: 1527
My best score was 2692 . (710-768Mhz)
My best was 1911 without stagefright in 2.2 with franco 18.1

Okay so I've been playing around with different roms and kernels and I can always tell when a Rom worked because I get a whole new look and have to restore all my data. I tried the Manhattan project and knew that worked because setCPU allowed 1.6 however I went back to JACS 1.2 (setCPU back to 1.2 allowance) but now I'm trying the new core kernel. My question is how can I tell what I'm running? In settings it always says, I think
2.6.29, just curious. I mean I successfully go through the the setup process and reboot and can assume that I was successfull but you know what they say when you assume, ass, you, me.
Oh and I know something is working great, thanks Team Whiskey, because this is what my benchmarks look like.

If you have an oc kernel u can use quadrant standards info tab too see your cpu max range. If u don't have an oc kernel you can use set cpu information tab and check the kernel version. It should say linux version 2.6.29 them who ever made it.

Thanks for the reply but I understand all that. My question concerns for instance going from JACS kernel (1.2 OC) to the new Core kernel (also 1.2 OC) so in this case I'm still showing 2.6.29 kernel version and 1.2 max is there a way to tell the difference? Maybe I'm forgetful and I want to change kernels how do I know that I'm not just reinstaling the same one I have or I wasn't watching when I loaded a new kernel how do I tell it installed and didn't just reboot?

Hi,
Unless they've already updated the Core v1 kernel, then use setcpu and check the info tab for:
linux version 2.6.29 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.3.1 (GCC)) #44 Fri Oct 29 13:55:19 CDT 2010
Cheers, =)

Since CM6 beats CM7 any time performance wise (at least it seems to me that way) it would be a HELL of a ROM, MiniCM6+custom Linux kernel compatible with 2.2.1 with enabled performance goodies OR even a sweet HTC Sense ROM at 2.2.1 with a custom kernel. If no dev is willing then plz reply or pm me with general guidelines on how to do this myself, never done linux kernel dev but have had my share with low-level programming and asm optimizations, (e.g. code that calculates exp(-r^2/s) using SSE and is faster than ICC and GCC )

Well, in my point of view, at this time MiniCM 2.1.3 + nAa kernel 05b beats minicm6 in every side of it

with cm6 in my phone battery discharge 6% per day (cpu 600~122 mh), I belive that can long one week but I use much my phone
we want custom kernel in cm6
I got pretty much the same battery life with minicm6..
Never went of above 2 days, even with stock eclair ROM
Not talking about battery but performance, use linpack to confirm
both roms on stock kernel with stock frequency and scheduler set to performance
Naa.. I don't trust linpack or any benchmarking app when it comes to x10 mini..
I just test it to play games, 3d games,
currently with minicm 2.1.3 and nAa 05b kernel, for the first time, I repeat, for the first time, for GB ROM on x10 mini, I can play smoothly NFS Shift, Crazy Snowboard, Trial Xtreme 2, and Plants vs Zombies without crashed out.. those things are only achieved with STOCK or FORYO ROM only before.. but now I can do it with GB
Plus, that so many additional features that GB has,
now I can say that MiniCM7 beats any ROM available for mini at the time, I'm 100% sure
note that, MiniCM7 2.1.3 + stock kernel >>> IMPOSSIBLE!
My phone setting:
- 600 MHz
- smartass v2 governor
- compcache 18%
- all animation enabled
- image dithering enabled
yes i know that it is impossible use a pre-customkernel version.
All i am saying is that CM7 performance prior to custom kernel was inferior to that of CM6.
I have tested 2.05 and 2.06 of cm7, I could not run more then 3 aplications that the last used had closed so easy, the brightness of cm7 was more glossy then cm6 - its one fact that I think let the battery drain more fast then cm6 (test by your self, cm7 is like cm6 in ultra brightness)
Im sure when I say that battery consumption in cm7 was 20%+ per day and cm6 6%- per day
all this let me be in cm6 and let me think cm6 is better then cm7
nAa could update cm6, fixing same things that have fixed in cm7 (like radio) and add custom kernel
One more vote for miniCM6 with custom kernel. Currently using miniCM7, would prefer cm6. At least it's worth a try, maybe minicm7 is far more advanced in development right now and therefore already better than miniCM6 could ever be, but until recently miniCM6 was the best ROM out there.
Gta now working with new version 1.2 but laggy & even more laggy when i use full effects .set file. So what should i do to play it smooth???? Custom kernel??? Overclock???
i would recommend you to get SE.Tweakes v0.7 with ICS theme

Why would he, only for GTA? It works fine on stock .42 OC 1,6GHz inteks kernel. Maybe he has a corrupt version of the game.
Inteks kernel only works on stock and SE Tweaked, for MIUI use JasonSteins kernel, and believe CM7 and MIUI kernels can be swapped.
Use Inteks Kernel OC to 1.2 or 1.4Ghz
Works fine for me

Its pretty simple
The stock ROM needs Stock Kernel to run
MIUI needs its very own MIUI based Kernel to run
CyanogenMod needs its own CM based ROM
In other words it is not possible at all
People have tried interchaning and they encountered boot loops

how about heating up , does the phone heat up too much ? or still acceptable, i run mine @ 1.6 and kind of feel it heats up alot ! and i use too low voltage for this just 1200mv for 1.6ghz is great imho , s.e uses the same amount of voltage for the stock 1ghz !
Hmm it heat up so much thats true but when you charge batter it heat up too like oc.
And again sorry for my English
It was working fine at first, but now it lags a lot, and shuts down after 1-5 minutes of playing. I can't finish any mission anymore. I use inteks overclock to 1,4 Ghz.
Could it be because I have too much apps installed (using Link2SD)?

your score is good
if u OC to 900mhz u will get probebly 2300
but i suggest u not to OC
my ace don't have that great score :/

Im not sure what OC kernel to pick, im running a Deodexed version of the ROM. and i aint to good with them just yet lol. Im really happy with the speed i have atm.. if i play with it to much ill mess it up big time proberly lol.
Just Ran another Benchmark with AnTuTu, I got an Overall of 2100..

Try it and tell me what happens. But dont forget to make a backup of your current rom via clockworkmod. I tried it and it worked for me a little while ago.
I installed the OC kernal. running it at 960. min 245. got a score of 2495. impressive is it safe to keep it like this? or should i slow it down a bit. i mean, running about 2000 or so was fast...
Its safe and yeah u have a good score. Its definately safe but dont go further or u will experience force closes.
