Okay so I've been playing around with different roms and kernels and I can always tell when a Rom worked because I get a whole new look and have to restore all my data. I tried the Manhattan project and knew that worked because setCPU allowed 1.6 however I went back to JACS 1.2 (setCPU back to 1.2 allowance) but now I'm trying the new core kernel. My question is how can I tell what I'm running? In settings it always says, I think
2.6.29, just curious. I mean I successfully go through the the setup process and reboot and can assume that I was successfull but you know what they say when you assume, ass, you, me.
Oh and I know something is working great, thanks Team Whiskey, because this is what my benchmarks look like.

If you have an oc kernel u can use quadrant standards info tab too see your cpu max range. If u don't have an oc kernel you can use set cpu information tab and check the kernel version. It should say linux version 2.6.29 them who ever made it.

Thanks for the reply but I understand all that. My question concerns for instance going from JACS kernel (1.2 OC) to the new Core kernel (also 1.2 OC) so in this case I'm still showing 2.6.29 kernel version and 1.2 max is there a way to tell the difference? Maybe I'm forgetful and I want to change kernels how do I know that I'm not just reinstaling the same one I have or I wasn't watching when I loaded a new kernel how do I tell it installed and didn't just reboot?

Hi,
Unless they've already updated the Core v1 kernel, then use setcpu and check the info tab for:
linux version 2.6.29 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.3.1 (GCC)) #44 Fri Oct 29 13:55:19 CDT 2010
Cheers, =)

Full changelog coming tomorrow once I get some sleep. I've slept like 6 hours the past 3 nights and it's catching up to me.
The kernel and rom are NOT packaged together. Flash whatever kernel you'd like. DL09 kernels will cause issues with phone calls, because even though this rom is based off DL09, it uses Retrokid's GB theme for DJ05, + the DL09 reboot option/theme patch.
I'd like to thank:

Retrokid

All of my testers for their help and support
Change Log:
DL09 Based
All apps optimized/zipaligned
Retrokid's DJ05 Gingerbread theme w/ accurate battery mod
Gingerbread keyboard (have to turn it on via settings)
Mesmerize Contacts
Google DNS Servers
Full sysctl support (pre-tweaked with my goodies)
Full init.d support (pre-tweaked with my goodies)
Build.prop edits
Very minimal touchwiz (TW calendar is all)
AOSP Calculator
AOSP Lockscreen
AOSP Text messaging app
ADW Launcher
Zipalign on every boot (incase you install a theme or something, why sacrifice speed? )
Kernel Change Log:
Based off JT1134's source
ULV on the low end, top end at 1300mv (25mv less than stock)
7 Speed Slot's for better stability/battery life/options (100, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1150)
Disabled NORMALIZED_SLEEPER
Changed time slices

Assuming this is Android 2.1, but I would love to know what differentiates this from other Roms, other than the reference to the OC Voodoo Kernel that is attached...
I'm still on v1.3, which is DJ05 based. Do I need to flash the DL09 modem before I install this?
Yea I would flash the DL09 modem....
This Rom by the way is awesome, been running it the last week or so and its really fast, clean and runs very smooth....good job Drod
downlaoded it this morning, smooth and fast so far, i may be using this for a while until a good stable 2.2 rom is leaked. i love the gingerbread coloring. one this i noticed was when i flashed the kernal, it went really fast, i did not have voodoo before this but when i have installed voodoo in the past, it would take upwards of 20 mins to install.... just wondering if this is a new new voodoo or something......
ps. will post some screen shots in a minute
edit. for some reason voodoo was disabled by default...... kinda strange, but i have it enabled now and is currently running it.
BTW. I love the transition effects. I normally turn them off but this runs so smooth I just might keep it here for a while.

SNS isn't included, just for the sake of cleanliness. It's always available via rom manager, in sonofskywalker's section
can anyone post a pic of the running services menu? I find that if i use superclean i have a lot more services running than if i use blackhole, would like to give this one a shot but also dont want a lot of unnecessary stuff running.

Hi guyz...
Being a noob has made me a bit concerned about my knowledge about my own Phone...
I have got GingerDx v022 with modules (AnDyX's Dualtouch for Cypress, AnDyX's smartass governor, ext3/4, X8Gesture, X8MDDI, X8UV) as given by the developer. But I am not still able to overclock my device. When I enter the mas CPU frequency, it has got no options, and just displays maximum Frequency as 600MHz.
What should I do?
This is preventing me from installing any HD games.....
Overclock modul isn't included in that rom.
Here is how to instal it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020313&highlight=x8oc
Btw wrong section.
Use SetCPU to set frequencies...
And... WRONG SECTION...

For that he'll have to unlock the bootloader. Overclocking the stock kernel is possible.
Dx made a topic for this!
Unlock bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17384177&postcount=3 and install kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340861 using flashtool http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/

+this should be in the Q&A section
unlock your bootloader, install a module called x8 overclock(?) i cant remember, thenyou can overclock. or if you need to overclock cpu, install alfs kernel
Wrong Section
You dont need to unlocked bootloader for that. We already have OC before unlocking bootloader have been successfully implemented. Mostly ROMS that made for stock has already that module in the libs.
Just flash Alfs kernel
Flash the alfs kernel for the rom and in the CyanogenMoD menu there in performance will be a CPU menu! Thats all...
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED! Please!
Yup, wrong section..... Sorry..:|
And thanks for the help.
For future visitors: There are 2 methods:
1: For stock kernel, flash the oc module by dx.
2: For unlocked bootloaders, install a custom kernel.
To edit settings: Use a 3rd party program like setcpu and no-frills cpu control./Go to settings->CyannogenMod settings->Performance settings -> CPU settings

Why dont you try and use an OC Kernel. It will definately Increase your score.
your score is good
if u OC to 900mhz u will get probebly 2300
but i suggest u not to OC
my ace don't have that great score :/

Im not sure what OC kernel to pick, im running a Deodexed version of the ROM. and i aint to good with them just yet lol. Im really happy with the speed i have atm.. if i play with it to much ill mess it up big time proberly lol.

You could be using Cyanogen based rom or CF root based rom. For both the ROMS ketut has developed OC kernels.
You can try as per your requirements.

Try it and tell me what happens. But dont forget to make a backup of your current rom via clockworkmod. I tried it and it worked for me a little while ago.
I installed the OC kernal. running it at 960. min 245. got a score of 2495. impressive is it safe to keep it like this? or should i slow it down a bit. i mean, running about 2000 or so was fast...
Its safe and yeah u have a good score. Its definately safe but dont go further or u will experience force closes.

Did you mark stop others from changing in application settings.
Sent from my lair.
I didn't have that marked, so I did it this morning and than went ahead and moved up the clocking and changed the governors and than did the reboot. After the reboot, it went back to the previous settings. Just to show what I am working with
One of the two governors went back to ondemand when I chose intellidemand for both. And both clocks went back down to 1512mhz and this is V0.3 max oc.
I have not used meanbean for a while. I don't exactly remember, just check etc/ init.qcom.post_boot.sh or etc/init.d for scripts that could prevent it from changing. Just do a back up before deleting anything.
Sent from my lair.
What do you have on the sticky settings template? Try deleting that first before you mess with the init. q. com.postboot file... Mike has its own tweaks for overclocking and governor, change the values on the init file after deleting the sticky file...
