Hi guys, go easy on me im a new X10 owner, previously had an HTC Desire for a year but got bored so now sporting a nice white X10i and loving it if im honest, the extra app space, the extra real estate on the screen and the look of the phone itself, anyway onto my nagging issue:
Upon receiving my phone I rooted it and have installed the following:
Baseband 2.0.5.2
Kernel 2.6.29 -zdzihu-mod3.50.1 [email protected] #1
Mod version TW 007
the issue I have is with the Wifi, while I can get it to connect to my home wifi, if I go outside and lose the wifi signal upon returning it does not auto reconnect, also I have a wifi on/off widget that just doesn't do the job. I noticed sometimes it takes a while to get reconnected it will say scanning then just disconnect. Its very frustrating, I get connected eventually but would like it to be more stable, is there anything I can do?
Cheers
D: finally, someone with the same problem. I have tried loads of apps etc and still can't find a way of getting it to work I hope there is a fix for it

Hi guys, I've got a big Legend related problem.
A while ago, when I used CM7 odd errors have shown up. There were many freezes, the drop down bar began to make silly things (droped down when I put my finger anywhere on the screen, regulary wasn't usable, the upper part of the screen just won't react) and after a few pics in the gallery the zoom function began to go mad (zoom in and out extremly fast w/o me doing anything on the screen).
After I gone back to the regular Android w/ Sense, the errors occured less, but still pretty often.
And now, I can't access any wireless network (I don't only mean wifi, any network, not GPS, not UMTS etc.).
I'm not sure if the reason ist just, that the Legend is broken. After the change from CM to Sense everything began to work better, but now everything is just ****ed up.

What have you tried so far? Do you still have warranty?
If not, try doing a full wipe before installing CM7
Did you do this before installing CM7 for the first time?
Yes I did^^
However, it's getting worse so I'll flash back to an unrooted Rom and send it in.
Ok, have a big problem. The Rom Manager recovery menu just won't boot. I allways end up on a the errorscreen with the red !.
Downgrading won't work either, just getting crwxr-x--- no matter what im doing.
Ok, nevermind, downgrade just worked.

Good luck with HTC and such.
Hi guys,
First of all, I am quite new with Rooting, and putting roms on my phone. But I really like it, so I'm doing a lot of research to it atm
Two days ago, I decided to put CM7.1 on my Desire HD, together with the LorDModUE V8.1 kernel. Everything works just perfect, I really like it.
However, I do have one pretty big problem, and that has to do with wifi.
When I am upstairs, where my router is, my wifi works fine. But when I go downstairs, my wifi becomes ''unstable''. It still has connection with my router, but with a lower signal. Well, that isn't a problem really, but the problem is, is that my wifi signal becomes white after a while.
This still doesn't have to be a big problem, but for me it is, because my internet isn't working anymore, when I am having a white wifi signal! When I try to load a website on my phone, it just won't load. it is like it freezes, because it does not say I have no wifi signal.
So, I am still connected to my wifi, but it doesn't load any websites, or any other programs that require internet acces.
Then, when I reboot, it works fine again! but only for some time, it is really random.
This is only when I am downstairs. as I said, upstairs, at my router, it works perfectly.
What I already tried:
- Set my wifi options to static IP
- Downloaded wifi fixer
- reboot
- airplane mode
I really don't know where to find the solution. I could try to reinstall cm7.1, without that kernel, but I really like that kernel, so I prefer not to reinstall anything. But if that is really necessary, so be it
I would like to hear from you!
Niels
I think your problem is screen off and on, signal become white right?
If so, I think you forgotten to switch "WiFi sleep policy" to never in WiFi setting

Thanks for your quick reply, but that also does not help. I already tried that aswell, but I forgot to mention it.. it is already set to 'never'.. :/
HTC has better WiFi chips than Samsung.
Check with your kernels developers whether it has WiFi "N" router setting included. The "N" (larger WiFi range router support"

Hmm, It doesn´t seem to have that..
I guess I will have to reinstall cyanogen, and install a different/stok cm7 kernel then?
I made a screenshot on how it looks like, now it has a green connection, but the internet load bar sort of ''freezes''
* Oh, can't enter any link before I reached the 8th post >.<*
My sense wildfire has WiFi "N" rounter support in custom kernel

So I need help figuring out what is going on with my phones WiFi. Here is the back story of whats going on:
-Have and Atrix 4G, obviously.
-Unlocked the boot loader and rooted the phone a few weeks after the 2.3.4 update using the method HERE (though now my phone says its version is 2.3.7 and I don’t know how that happened)
-Flashed the Alien ROM and Theme
Everything went great and I continued to love my phone until about 3 or 4 weeks ago when my WiFi stopped working. I want to make it perfectly clear I HAVE searched the forums here and found a lot of others with problems people are having with the WiFi; however, none of them describe the problem I am having, which is:
-I turn the WiFi on, either by the settings menu or through some sort of switch or trigger app.
-It says turning on WiFi and after four or five seconds of turning on it says error.
-Have the time it crashes my phone.
The crashing my phone made me think it is some sort of “software” problem so I reflashed the Alien ROM but the problem continued so I flashed the CyanogenMod 7 from HERE (VERY GREAT ROM BTW) and the problem STILL CONTINUES!!
So what I would like to know is:
-If this is a software problem what needs to be done?
-And if the answer to both is no your up the creek without a paddle what the heck can I do about this?
Thanks for any help y’all can give me.
I didn't experience these issues specifically but I did have wifi issues, especially after GB was released. What I did was change my router to use "G" protocol instead of "N". This is just a suggestion and is only relevant if you have an "N" router.

Yeah i'm having this problem as well. I did some troubleshooting and this is what worked for me. I used the 1.77.36p baseband and used all manual settings for my home wifi settings. Here is the link to the other thread showing what I did. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394704 Seemed to happen after flashing the darkside 4 rom so could be related to custom roms but others are saying it is hardware. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1235396.html
So, I installed the openOptimus rom on my phone (LG Optimus P500h), and I love it, looks great, awesome battery life, but I've noticed a couple of things aren't working that I would like to get working, but I can't seem to figure out how to fix the problems so I'm hoping you guys can help me.
First problem, appears alarms don't vibrate, I have one particular alarm set to vibrate as it is a daily reminder for medication and I can't always have it make noise. So, if anyone has a fix for getting alarms to vibrate awesome.
Second problem, tethering/wireless hotspot doesn't work right. I turn it on and get error (both USB and Wifi), laptop will still connect to the wireless network (I generally don't use USB because my laptop is incredibly picky and refuses to accept it to begin with) however there won't be internet access, and I can't figure out why. If I go back to the stock rom it worksfine but with this ROM it won't. I've even tried installing with a different kernel and still no go.
Third one was getting apps2sd to work but I found a second option for doing that so I'm going to give that a try and see if it works, if not I'll post a reply for that.
Thanks guys!
Edit: Apps2SD now working. So just alarm and tethering I'd like fixed
I use a different Rome that has the teetering bug. There is an appear in market that solves this problem (for WiFi) but it makes an ad hock connection so only one client can connect to the phone. Just do a search for teetering in the market

Hey guys!
I just installed CyanogenMod 10 20130110-NIGHTLY to my Motorola Defy+ and I am experiencing this problem:
3 of 4 dock icons disappear after rebooting the phone. It doesn't happen always, just in approximately 50% cases. Any ideas how to fix it?
EDIT: Now, it happend after closing and app and returing to launchscreen, plus one widget was gone too It's becoming really annoying, plus I'm having serious issues with connecting to wifi. I guess I'll just start using again Gingerbread that actually works, instead of this piece of... unfinished, not working ...thing
Are the disappearing icons and widgets paid apps?
For WiFi go to Settings-WiFi-Menu-Advanced and uncheck 'Avoid poor connections', if you haven't done that already.

No, it's exDialer & Contacts (free) and Camera (it was already installed there) and the widget was also already there (I'm not sure about the name, because it's not in english, but I guess it could be translated as direct call, or direct dial).
I don't think we should talk about the WiFi here, since the thread is not named properly, but the signal was excellent and the Wifi Analyzer app was asking for Wifi Connecter Library, so I installed it (and rebooted, just for sure), but it didn't help.
thank you guysthank you alot guys
By the way, I found out when the Wifi problem occured. It happend after I overclocked to 1000 or 1200 MHz, I think that maybe the OS turned off some HW modules to save energy, or performace, or something like that
