I read somewhere that the cap was 5gb, but I'm not sure.
I just feel like I'm using a crap ton of data, with 4g I really can't resist downloading multiple albums in their entirety, as well as watch a crap ton of youtube videos when I get bored at work (which happens quite often...).
5G was stated cap in ToS, they said they would throttle those that went above.
This seems to be current ToS.
They say that they throttle those users in the top 5 percent of usage (top 5% who use the most data), but so far I have not had any issues.
I have used more than 10GB+ (but less than 16gb) the past 2 billing cycles, and not had any issues. No tethering, or video streaming, honest. I'm sure you'll find other users here who use like 30gb, or 50gb per month on their 4g smartphones.
I've crushed 8.8GB and 6.5GB on my last 2 billing cycles using 4G between phone and mobile hotspot. If Verizon is throttling me down, I sure can't tell and still have great speeds!!

This is the correct answer.
Feedhead: did you read the page you linked?
From the above linked tos
" Verizon Wireless strives to provide customers the best experience when using our network, a shared resource among tens of millions of customers. To help achieve this, if you use an extraordinary amount of data and fall within the top 5% of Verizon Wireless data users we may reduce your data throughput speeds periodically for the remainder of your then current and immediately following billing cycle to ensure high quality network performance for other users at locations and times of peak demand. Our proactive management of the Verizon Wireless network is designed to ensure that the remaining 95% of data customers aren't negatively affected by the inordinate data consumption of just a few users."

This is about where I've been for the last 2 billing cycles. No throttling yet

There is a "my Verizon" app available. If your rooted (possibly unrooted also, not sure though) you will need to search around here to find a modified version to work on your phone.

So after rooting and messing around with different roms and such, I installed an app called network that has been mentioned on here, to see about switching to 3G easily while at work.
Well I started noticing that the phone couldn't keep a 4G signal at all anymore, but didn't put 2 and 2 together because of some of the other stuff I had done, mainly flashing through 3 different roms in 45 mins.
Well I unrooted my phone, and got it exchanged today because of some terrible back light bleeding, that thankfully my new phone doesn't have, and rerooted the phone, restored all my apps on Mik Rom, and BAM, 4G goes screwy out of nowhere. So I looked through everything and the only networking type app I had was Network. I uninstalled it, and now instead of 998 ping and .5 d/l speeds I am averaging somewhere near 14 down and 71 ping.
Only change was that app. Anyone else have this issue after installing that app? Or if you are having 4G issues, and have this app, UNINSTALL IT!
just thought I'd throw it out there, considering it was making me really mad.
Just tested it myself and it's all good here.

Did you make changes in the network app?
The app is designed to DISABLE 4g. So if you made changes then yeah you would lose 4g.
Im sure this isnt the case, but wanted to mention it just in case.
I use mine to disable 4g since im not in a 4g Area but it works fine this way. But then again my 4g cant go screwy because it doesn't exist.

Hmmm... I notice your speedtest app actually showing an accurate upload (compared to the double digits people used to post. Is this an updated version? Speedtest had acknowledged inaccurate reporting on the TB.
I am looking for an app that shows me which app/process used the network by what amount. Any ideas?

This or this
The best one by far is 3g watchdog.

Why?
Don't have the exact figures to hand, but according to 3G watchdog there was a tiny, tiny difference from the data use on my last bill. I assume this will differ between different carriers, but..
How accurate do you need to be? And why?l

They want per app usage for some reason.
I have tried over 10 different apps 3g watchdog included and not one of them showed the exact usage, some were worse than others, 3g watchdog didn't fare particularly well to be honest, the best one as in calculated the closest to what i had used was a data usage app part of the ZD Box app but again this didn't calculate what the exact usuage was, the only way i can calculate is when i send a text to my provider and they respond via text tells me exactly how much ive used, im hoping the ICS data usage does the job but i wont hold my breath, from the end of this month ill be getting 1GB data per month so not too bad i should be able to track, better than paying for data on a daily basis.
BTW Highly recommended just in general

I dont really get how a data usage app could not be correct, its a basic thing to count the amount of data going though an interface in linux based OS's.
Just weird.
In ics there is an app in the settings for that

You are right. But some telcos count data in "blocks" and part of rounded up. Where (for example) 3g watchdog count every single bit with no rounding.

It's only happened to me a couple of times. Seems to be when I'm in a dead zone for a few hours. I've been turning off mobile data when I'm in those places. Hopefully that bug is fixed with the upcoming OTA.

Ever think it has something to do with the network in your area?
Sent from my HTC Rezound via Tapatalk
I don't think so, but if it was, Well AT&T looks nice. I called tech over and over and they all said network was fine in my "area".
It could be due to useing 20-30GB every time, but I used 22GB on AT&T's unlimited plan and never had this happen.

This month I'll use over 50gb, last month 15gb and averaged about 3gb per month over the last 4 years. I'm unlimited with a hotspot. It almost seems like I'm being throttled. That's BS if that's the case since I pay about $70+ a month for Internet on two phones.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
Forgot to add it usually hit speeds between 8-12gb but this month I'm seeing a lot of 3-5gb and a lot of dropped signal. Haven't had that problem before at least not like this. Curious to see what happens as soon as I start my next pay cycle.

I just noticed yesterday I am now getting the 4g LTE icon lit up on my phone in my area(very pleasant surprise) and the speeds don't seem that great though. I've traveled through LTE areas before and the speeds were 4x to 8x this fast. Could they still be tweaking it? Thanks for any input.

Yeah that's not fast, but it's not slow either. I get an average of 20mbps download on lte. Bit it varies from time of day, to objects in the way, and take into consideration how many people are using the tower you're on.
That's normal speed when they are first turning up and testing the frequencies give it a week or two and see if it improves

They must be testing it. I go from LTE to 4g to Edge in just a few seconds without even moving. They're definitely doing something because I was getting LTE service inside my workpkace where I previously got no signal at all. Plus, I was showing LTE at times today and couldn't load anything web based:screwy: I hope it does get faster.

The 3 times I have been in an area when they are doing tower upgrades it does exactly what you just described. It will go faster once they finish it.
AT&T turned on LTE here a few months ago and it's no faster than HSPA was, not even per tower... like at work I would see 12mbit down, at home 4mbit.. It hasn't changed. I've been told latency and other things are better but I never paid attention to them in the past.
Can someone explain when and why this came about? I can't find out much on Google other then they started tested it on the revolution phone in 2012. I didn't know anything about this until today while on the phone with a rep discussing switching to another phone and he asked why I wanted to leave my s4. I said due to bad battery life. Then he started telling how I had done everything in settings and such to save battery but went on to tell me exactly when I took my phone off the charger, how much bay percent I had left at that very moment, how many 3rd party apps I had installed and even told me which ones where running in the background at that very moment. I maybe behind on the time but he didn't ask to access my phone like they do when you remote access your computer. Can someone catch me up on this cause I don't to much care for as the article stated that any rep would be able to access your phone as if it was in there hand.

No its not just the s4. The only thing I could find was that article from March of 2012 and they where hiding it in a ota on the LG revolution phone that didn't sell well to test it out. Now here it is 2014 and they can tell me everything on my phone while I am talking to them in that same phone. Here's the article from then. It's named something else but doesn't mean they couldn't name it something we can't find.
