Don't know if its just me, But the power button and vol Control buttons are getting harder and harder to register as time passes by, Normal presses on these buttons don't work now,
For me i have to press very hard on the power button to actually register a press. I am worried that someday i will be forced to send it to the service center and its not even an year into this phone.

U should use alternatives like quick reboot and have a shortcut for reboot and shutdown on home screen ,which can help reduce stress on power button.

Sorry ,but i make a mistake here ,its not quick reboot ,its quick boot by sirius applications ltd.
yeah , kinda worried about that too
for lock the device , u can download Screen off & Lock from market
and for reboot , reboot to recovery , i prefer to use terminal emulator
Shrug. The minimal warranty for similar issues is 2 years here in EU. Dunno about other parts of the world.
This it's just a entry level android...most of us will upgrade to high end androids soon
I know most of u guys agree with me
it's called button savior
Screen Off and Lock by Katecca/Tools
Try this widget from the market. works great on the optimus One.

That cover can be b*t*h indeed. Becomes easier the more times you take it off though
press simultaneously:
- power button
- volume down
- camera button (alias trackball)

Where were you about one month ago? Since then I took the battery out tens of times and now at every press of the power button, the phone skweaks.
it work ...great tip
Is there an app that allows you to reassign the functions of the power button to another key? I am trying to minimize how often I have to use the power button because of the issues several of us are having with the power button.
What are the issues with the power button?
Its hard to describe, its as if the Power Button is moving into the phone it is not sticking out nearly as much as it was when it was new as a result it is becoming tougher to push as it becomes flush with the top of the phone.....

I know what you mean. I came from the Droid X and my first thought when using the Thunderbolt was "WTF at the power button!?" It sits too damn flush with the top of the phone. It took me a good 2-3 days to get used to it. I kept having to look at the top of the phone to get my finger in the right spot.
Anyways... are you rooted? Das BAMF has a feature that allows the volume rockers to be used to wake up the phone. You could then download something like SwitchPro and use a widget to turn to the screen off. Essentially you'd never have to use the power button then.

Yes I am rooted, I have not tried any custom roms yet. I will try SwitchPro and see how that works. Thanks for the info!!!
SwitchPro does not have anything that looks like it would work as a power button, are there any other suggestions?
I use the free version of quick boot and hardly ever use the power button it allows:
reboot
recovery
bootloader
Power off

don't ignore this link because its the only way to get it to wake with the volume rocker buttons
I also downloaded Screen Off to put my device in sleep mode. With these two apps the only time I need to use the power button is when I'm updating ROMs or I need to power on my phone.
Good luck

when we play music there is a mini player at the top of the screen. But when we stop the music,it still there at lockscreen.I find some ways to make it disappeared:
1)at the lockscreen(when the screen is black) ,double press power key
2)at the lockscreen(when the screen is black) ,press power key in a normal way for 7 times ,and it works
Cool, thanks for the tip. Sometimes it is nice to have it there so You can resume music, but most times I want to make it go away as well.

Does not always work. Worked a couple of days ago.
Now I have pressed the power button from the lookscreen like 100 times and it's still there. So this is very inconsistent.
EDIT: ah my mistake I thought it would take away the info from the panel when you press the volume keys also. This only applies for the lockscreen info unfortunately.
Yup volume keys do work even when the device is locked. I hope you also know that you can silence an incoming call quickly by just tapping the vol up or down key.
There is also an app in the marketplace to remove the music player icon from the lockscreen and when volume keys are used

Hi. I'm having a trouble with my LG G2 mini. When I get the phone in my pocket, unintentionally, I hold the power off button and even when the phone is blocked, if you hold the power off button, it restart. Sometimes I'm walking on the street and I hear the booting sound from my pocket and I'm like... WTF?
Someone know how to deactivate this function? is a pain in the ass.
Thanks and sorry for my REALLY bad english
I've never noticed such thing as restarting, but I have similiar problem with Volume+ and Volume- - there's camera and quick note shortcuts by default and I can't get rid of them...
root -> exposed -> G2 tweaks box
There you can set the behaviour of the volume buttons.
Don't know if you can set power button, but I never had problems with it.
Yeah cool, but You have to pay to unlock those features.

So what?
You can buy a phone for a lot of money and tell us you can not afford a software for a few bucks?
Shame on you.
The developer spend a lot of time for it.
I simply prefer to spend my money on something, that I need more than that.
I buyed and works great with vol+ and vol- but not with power button. A shame, but hey, I have a great app to modify my phone [emoji2]

AFAIK long pressing of power button is not handled by the OS.
It works even when the device freezes or you tried to boot with a non working kernel.
Some kind of emergency restart that nags you.
I was very happy that it works this way while testing custom recoveries.
Ok now i'm having a new problem. If you deactivate de vol+/vol- function in the bloq screen if you press vol+ amd vol- at the same time for a few secods, the phone just can't start until you press the power button for a few seconds to restart it. I guess I will have to buy a case for my phone
Hello everyone.
My power button suddenly stopped working. I'm running a Honor 7 (PLK-L01) with android 6.0 with emui 4.0.1. I'm not rooted. It has always worked before, but now it doesn't function if I press it. Short presses to wake the device, long presses to get the boot menu, it al doesn't work. I'm afraid that if my battery dies, I won't be able to turn my device on at all. Are there more people with this problem, or are there people who have a solution? I hope it's just a software problem, but I don't know how I can be sure if it is a software or a hardware problem.
I hope someone can help me.
Okay, it started working again. As soon as I pressed my volume buttons it responded again, like it was triggered by it or something.
Volume buttons and power button are very close together so maybe some kind of dirt got inside and stuck them.
yes, most probably some malfunction due to obstucles or small particles like dust,
its best once you get it cleaned
Service center is your friend to get it cleaned.
Yeah, could do that. But the closest service center is like 100 km from where I live ?
