Hey guys...
I have a bell atrix, and I just downloaded the new update released.
It prompted me to install it, so I plugged it into the USB in my computer (so it had guaranteed power) and hit install.
The phone powered off, rebooted, and is now showing me a picture of a Droid standing next to a triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it.
I'm not sure what this means, it has been like this for ~10 minutes.
Help?
Cheers
It looks like the lower part of this screen. There is no menu

do you have any modifications to your system files? i.e. the webtop hack

I applied the webtop hack but it doesn't work...
Where does this land me?
having the same problem
unlocked to telus
rooted
webtop hack
bloatware removed
(to see details touch the bottom right hand corner after the exclamation mark icon shows up on the screen)
flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/5855259098/in/photostream/
how do I get the original bloatware back on?? I'm guessing that will fix it..
Just wondering if there was anyway to solve this, i am having the same issue, would it be caused by my phone being rooted?
if you tap the bottom right hand corner of the screen it should display some stuff under the little man.
also if you have removed the bloatware that will cause it to fail the checks. I ran in to the same issues, I ended up having to download the stock /system folder from a thread on here, I replaced all the files with root explorer. that allowed the update to function mostly, I'm still having some issues with it though.
I have been loading the update from an sdcard (insert link to motorola dot com) using the system recovery app (free on the market) the installation goes fine until it gets to "olympus.update_cdma_ota_bp(" /tmp/baseband_ota_rdl.bin" . "/tmp/baseband_ota.img")
Error
(Status 7)
I then have to reboot the phone, this shows all the updates as complete and that i'm running all the latest firmware except that i have no 3g/4g data whatsoever. (works fine on wifi)
maybe that helps you some and hopefully someone can supply an answer that will help us both.
Bump
When my update fails i get this message:
Assert failed : apply_patch_check ("/system/media/bootanimation.zip"."0f397aod6b9171daa6d5e050f2ddbc 42ac56022". "164cfbfbfec785334b497d99b750affe75be519")

Any ideas on what to do?

Restore the original bootanimation.zip. If it sees anything changed in the file system (/) than the patch check will fail. Everything in / has to be the same as it was when you got it.
Ok thanks

I tried do install the latest Voodoo lag fix and am now stuck on the Vibrant logo screen.
I went into recovery mode, chose to apply the package, then when it restarted just sits at the white Vibrant logo.
I'm still able to get back into recovery mode and trying to reapply the lag fix results in the same
Does anybody know how I can fix this so I can use my phone again?

Odin. That is all I m going to say.
yes, i know exactly whats happening...i think
when you apply the voodoo, listen for linda saying she's going to apply extension for optimize 4, then step 1. this process takes about 5 minutes and it will sit on the white vibrant screen for what seems forever. just hang tight and it'll reboot
however, since you stopped the process in the middle, you might need to ODIN to stock. but try reapplying the voodoo lagfix. i hope it works for
this is all in the voodoo thread. Its been happening to people since day one with voodoo. I got voodoo to work once, and it was nice, but I like the convenience of z4mod. Same deal, but instead of being activated when you install the kernel it modifies your kernel so it supports ext 2 3 or 4 then allows you to change file systems by flashing a zip. And the fact that z4mod can change dbdata and cache as well is nice too.

Moved to Q&A...post in the correct section.
i came across an old Science and Invention cover and thought it might look kinda cool as a bootani, so here it is.
there are 2 to choose from. The v1 has no text and the v2 has The Isolator at the top of the ani.
help or suggestions, just holler.

Download:
bootanimation-the_isolator-cwm-v1.zip (~4MB)

INSTALLATION (for those who need it):
copy the file to your phone (i use sshdroid to copy it to my /mnt/sdcard/)
run System Recovery and choose Recovery Mode (make sure power is plugged in)
wait... (could it boot up past the Motorola logo any slower?)
select Install zip from SDCARD
select choose zip from internal sdcard (or just sdcard, your mileage may vary)
scroll down until you find the bootanimation-the_isolator-cwm-v1.zip or bootanimation-the_isolator-cwm-v2.zip file
hit your power button to select it
scroll down to Yes - bootanimation-the_isolator-cwm-v1.zip or bootanimation-the_isolator-cwm-v2.zip and hit your power button to select it.
watch the quick install screen
scroll down to Go Back and hit the power button again.
Reboot system now should be highlighted, hit the power button to reboot.

Yes. I am rooted.
Unzip and pull bootanimation.zip from the flash zip, then just use Root Explorer (or equivalent) to copy bootanimation.zip to system/media overwriting the original (or change name of original to bootanimation.zip.bak first), and then change permissions to RW/R/R.
Reboot and enjoy your new animation.

Dunno, that's odd, but yeah, just pull the bootnimation.zip out of it, backup yours (which I'd recommend by renaming it), then replace it with this one and verify perms.
The CWM way simply does this for you.

Hi xda community!
I've faced with a big problem. I'be been using Neutrino 1.4S rom. Then I desided to try Neutrino 2.1. I flashed it via CWM (5.0.2.7) and just after that flashed an Atrix-CM7-Kernel-024b4-ext4-1.30GHz.zip & rebooted.
And there was no red motorola logo (Dual Core technology) anymore but list with the options like:
- RSD
- Fastboot
...
- Android recovery
etc.
Something like this screenshot but w\out message "Failed to boot"

I have no actual photo of that screen as I had no camera with me ((
After 5 sec no pressing any key Neutrino started booting but stuked on boot animation. Screen was on & off periodicaly. But it didn't boot.
I tried to flash Neutrino 2.1 via CWM once again. But this time w\out flashing of faux 024b4 kernel. Result - the same.
Then Neutrino 1.4 S. Result - same.
Finally I flashed a stock AT&T rom (4.5.91) via RSD Lite. It booted successfully but...!! But no soft key responce! The key area is seems like a part of the screen. Like down part of screen been shifted down to key's area.
And I'm stucked on Blur registration as I can't open the keyboard to skip registration and can't pass it as I dont have a wifi spot around me.
Any saggustions?
P.S> Sorry for my English is so far from perfect. But I hope you've understood everything.. Last hope on you!
Here's the place where I downloaded faux 024b4 kernel
I have found a thread about the same problem like mine and I understood that I did the same steps as topic starter - TOPIC

I selected 0kb. I should have just pulled battery just then, thinking about it now.
Anyways, I'm now getting a new menu when the phone starts that lists all of the OS boot choices.
If I don't select any choice fro mthe list, I get test that says: "Powering on BP" then next line "Cold-booting LINUX" then next line "Reading ODM Fuse: 1", then it boots into CM9.
But, the screen calibration is wrong and the buttons don't work on the phone.

this solved my problem
i had to open the bootloader by flashing this sbf since my usb debugging was disabled.
extract it first, then flash with RSD Lite.

Yea, I was spoiled for 1.5 years with custom ROMs which had it removed.. Still looking for a legit solution which removes it completely..

We have to wait for a custom Rom to remove it.
Just curious what things are you waiting to get settled down to Root? I think the method we have now works pretty well, at least for me

Being as I have a Verizon Galaxy S 3 I want to wait for the Kexec Kernel method to be functioning and out the door with a bit of feedback prior to rooting my device. As far as features that i used to "hack" into my phones the only one that the GS3 does not have out of the box is the ability to block ads. Everything else it already has (moving from a D3 with CM9 on it)
Odined a rooted stock recovery and installed TWRP recovery.. Better than having nothing or waiting for something to happen with the bootloader..

when you do that does it do a wipe of the phone?

It is hard-bricked. You have my tutorial for hardbrick around. If you are hardbricked like this you don't need to open your phone. Search the forums.

Sorry. I can longer assist you. I am not in this business anymore. I even sold the L7 II. If someone wants to continue the work i will make all research public and all the stuff I made and not released, after talking to @maxx_hr
EDIT: As I remember error 100 is related to not installing the c redistributable or smth like that. there is one more file (a msi) as i remember, that needs to be installed. Also run as Admin.
