i came across an old Science and Invention cover and thought it might look kinda cool as a bootani, so here it is.
there are 2 to choose from. The v1 has no text and the v2 has The Isolator at the top of the ani.

Yes. I am rooted.
Unzip and pull bootanimation.zip from the flash zip, then just use Root Explorer (or equivalent) to copy bootanimation.zip to system/media overwriting the original (or change name of original to bootanimation.zip.bak first), and then change permissions to RW/R/R.
Reboot and enjoy your new animation.

Dunno, that's odd, but yeah, just pull the bootnimation.zip out of it, backup yours (which I'd recommend by renaming it), then replace it with this one and verify perms.
The CWM way simply does this for you.

hmmm... can you give a little more detail? did it say installation failed in the recovery menu... or did it not install some other way?
Hey guys...
I have a bell atrix, and I just downloaded the new update released.
It prompted me to install it, so I plugged it into the USB in my computer (so it had guaranteed power) and hit install.
The phone powered off, rebooted, and is now showing me a picture of a Droid standing next to a triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it.
I'm not sure what this means, it has been like this for ~10 minutes.
Help?
Cheers
It looks like the lower part of this screen. There is no menu

I applied the webtop hack but it doesn't work...
Where does this land me?
having the same problem
unlocked to telus
rooted
webtop hack
bloatware removed
(to see details touch the bottom right hand corner after the exclamation mark icon shows up on the screen)
flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/5855259098/in/photostream/
how do I get the original bloatware back on?? I'm guessing that will fix it..
Just wondering if there was anyway to solve this, i am having the same issue, would it be caused by my phone being rooted?
if you tap the bottom right hand corner of the screen it should display some stuff under the little man.
also if you have removed the bloatware that will cause it to fail the checks. I ran in to the same issues, I ended up having to download the stock /system folder from a thread on here, I replaced all the files with root explorer. that allowed the update to function mostly, I'm still having some issues with it though.
I have been loading the update from an sdcard (insert link to motorola dot com) using the system recovery app (free on the market) the installation goes fine until it gets to "olympus.update_cdma_ota_bp(" /tmp/baseband_ota_rdl.bin" . "/tmp/baseband_ota.img")
Error
(Status 7)
I then have to reboot the phone, this shows all the updates as complete and that i'm running all the latest firmware except that i have no 3g/4g data whatsoever. (works fine on wifi)
maybe that helps you some and hopefully someone can supply an answer that will help us both.
Bump
When my update fails i get this message:
Assert failed : apply_patch_check ("/system/media/bootanimation.zip"."0f397aod6b9171daa6d5e050f2ddbc 42ac56022". "164cfbfbfec785334b497d99b750affe75be519")
E:Error in /cache/blur_version.4.1.31.MB860.orange.en.gb.zip

Any ideas on what to do?

Restore the original bootanimation.zip. If it sees anything changed in the file system (/) than the patch check will fail. Everything in / has to be the same as it was when you got it.
Ok thanks

Credit for the animation goes to mjones1052.
Original boot animation can be found here: droidforums.net
I removed a few frames which referenced the old "Hello Moto", and added audio.
May not work correctly on HKTW 2.3.4
I take no responsibility for any damage you do to your phone. This has been tested on my Atrix only.

I did originally put the HelloMoto audio in, but it sounded so cheesy I changed it! Even when I edited out the part where it says "HelloMoto", it still sounded dated.......well, it did for me knowing how far back that audio file goes! LOL

Hi every one.
I own a Samsung Vibrant, and I am trying to install the last CM7 on it, but I keep getting this annoying messege (E:error in sdcard/dcim/update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-vibant-signed.zip) (status 7) installation aborted!
I kept searching in the forum , and I think I know the problem, my device is vibrant put when I start it it shows GT-I9000
after further searching, I found this post,
By atinm
Make sure whatever you flash has the name "Vibrant" in the file name, status 7 usually means you're trying to flash some other device's file onto the Vibrant. Or you have your properties set incorrectly (which happened if you flashed bilboa1's broken kernel - I think he might had a fix for this if that is the case with you).

I could not find the fix he spoke about.......so what can I do?
thanks in advance
Try Odin back to jfd and then install. Also 7.1 rc1 is pretty old. You should pick up one of the nightlies to get a more up-to-date CM7.

Thanx geoffcorey
this worked perfectly......I will mention the steps just in case someone needed.
1- I downloaded the following files:
T959UVJFD.tar from http://android.azizus.info/vibrant/T959UVJFD.tar
Odin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821625
512 pit file from http://www.4shared.com/get/tOVvEDQr/s1_odin_20100512.html
the latest cyanogen.....check cyanogen website under (devices)
*put the cyanogen file on the root of the SD card
2- I followed the instructions in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
so now I have a stock Vibrant.......Time to root
3- root using this thread (follow the video exactly!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
now we have a rooted, stock ROM vibrant. lets go cyanogen.
4-download the latest clockwork rom manager from the market (use the markt enabler if it is not shown in your country, like me)
5-press on the first option (flash clockwork mod recovery) and choose vibrant
then press on reboot into recovery.
*if it did not reboot into clockmod recovery and booted in android recovery (blue font screen)

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
just click on the second choice (apply sdcard update.zip ) then repeat step no.5 so you will get clockmod recovery menu
6-then just coose wipedata, then wipe catch
then install zip from sdcard, choose zip from SD card, choose the cyanogen
zip file you put in the sd root, and there you have it!
thanks for all the help I got from this great forum, I wish this helps any one in need.

Hey guys, When the pen is used on CGROM, the pointer shows up... Its really annoying, so I made a small flashable package to get rid of it...
Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?g5iic8u352vw79v
MD5: f2d23d827a870e43451c5bfc709d104c
For those people who are having trouble flashing it:
1. Download and extract the zip.
2. Copy the framework-res.apk to your sd-card.
3. Using any file manager with root control, move it to /system/framework. (Overwriting the old one)
4. Set permissions to 644.
5. Reboot... Enjoy!
NOTE: This is not an official release by yncconsulting!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If this helped you or you like it please click thanks!
Thanks for the file but when I try to install it I get an error in the installation process it said status 6 whatever that means. Any ideas.
Maybe an md5 for the file.
Sent from my HTC Express using xda premium
Alright, fixed... Redownload, check md5, flash away!
Md5 matches but still getting installation aborted (status 6) something I am doing wrong but I don't know what I could be doing wrong flashing with CWM any other ideas?
Sent from my HTC Express using xda premium
Hmm are you using the CWM that is flashed by HC Multi Tool?
OP Updated.
