somewhere in android section I've seen thread on mod of skype with working video, did not test myself, but if you feel adventuruous, please share the outcome...

Actually what you suggest is a fabulous idea however, never seen executed on any type of mobile platform, have we? This would certainly be a unique feature. Let's hope some OS developer picks that up...

There is already a thread with this same issue, it stems from the autofocus mechanism in the lens I think. You should be able to purchase a new camera and replace it. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok never did you say you attempted to search yourself. How am I supposed to know what you've done that before you posted this question?
I gave you the best answer to your question I could find. Saying how long it took for me to find that particular reddit post isn't a measurement of my intelligence. You simply decided to come to that conclusion yourself and be sarcastic about it.
Next time why don't you put more detail in what research you've done already when you post a question. Would have saved my time and yours.
Regardless you still should have invested in the much superior Snapdragon model. I did my research and know getting the mediatek model would cause issues down the line.
Since that reddit post was about the only useful thing I could find (I took a look at some others, frankly I wish I hadn't now), I suggest you try what's suggested in there. As said in the post all of them are the same more or less as they use the same API.
