SLCD qHD.

If you're asking about what type of glass, we don't know. It's not listed on the Gorilla Glass lists, HTC says says about a proprietary type of high strength glass.

So it can be compared with:
1)Retina Display
2)SAMOLED
3)SLCD
4)AMOLED
5)TFT LCD
I've been reading and don't know if the SLCD qHD would be better, same or worst , lol

Lol at Retina Display. That is actually IPS.
I can't say since I haven't seen it first hand. SLCD should provide sharper colors than what an LCD display does.
Edit: in all honesty I really don't like AMOLED or even SAMOLED. The colors are way too oversaturated

IPS is just a type of LCD screen. In fact they're almost all just variants of TFT LCD's, except the OLED screens.

what about Samoled plus? Is it good?

Yeah i guess it just irks me when people do IPS vs TFT when IPS is a form of TFT. What would be more correct is saying IPS vs TN (which is the cheapest and worst looking LCD).

Supposed to be nice and bright in Sunlight. But nonetheless it has over saturated colors which I do not personally like. Just my opinion.

I think some Droid incredible 1's had slcd cause they ran out of amoled .. find one of those

Also to my understanding, SLCD is supposed to be easier on the battery than the standard LCD display.

All the newer Incredible 1's, and Nexus Ones had SLCD. It's supposed to be better in sunlight then LCD or IPS, but not as good as SAMOLED.

I see it as an advancement. The processor and the GPU alone are worth the upgrade. For myself at least. Not only this, but dev support.

Lol, I'm in love with qhd screen, only reason that's keeping me with vivid.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
Yeah I was tempted to get the Vivid for 0.68 seconds (but for me that is nearly an eternity) for to the screen. But, I was fresh off my Thrill to the i777, so I didn't want to be in another dev ghost town, plus I don't think I will see LTE for a long time.

with attn1 campaigning for a boycott...there is not much love for that device...
i had it for a day, and as soon as our seed Skyrocket came in, i dumped the Vivid for that...then bought an SGSII i777 for myself...
Good luck finding a device with more Rev support then the sgs2. They are few and far between. Just think there's several variants and an international version. So no thanks stay away from htcs nonsense. Its craptastic.
And so I'm back.

Just wondering..
What do you guys prefer more in terms of display. QHD or Super amoled plus?
HD Super AMOLED plus jk
In all honesty qHD displays look amazing especially the SAMOLED variety on the Droid RAZR, but most qHD displays are backlit like on the Vivid which I am not to crazy about. To answer your question though, I prefer SAMOLED+

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Super AMOLED Plus is a type of display technology, while qHD is simply a term for a certain size and resolution, regardless of what type the display is. Isn't is meaningless to compare them then?

That's cool. People can totally have preferences. I love both, i've seen both. To say one is factually better is ridiculous though. I hate blanket statements like "betters it," especially when on paper, it doesn't.

Apparently, "HD" - yes... Although thanks to the upgraded RES/DPI, they had to downgrade from the Plus' "Real Stripe" RGB display back to Pentile.
The next generation phones, after the Galaxy Nexus will then have a true upgrade to Super AMOLED HD Plus which will maintain the high RES/DPI as well a have RGB support again.

I couldn't tell if the screen was decent on the Rezound or not because I was too distracted by the red LEDs and the Sense farting up the Android experience.

I think we need a list of things that we can make factual comparisons.. you know, take the opinions out. you cant debate facts, they are what they are.
does the screen have banding - yes - fact
is the screen pixelated - yes - fact
s there a grainy look - I think this is an opinion
Whites look yellow - yes - Fact
We need more True/False things to use for comparisons
I took my bolt with twisted's ICS build to the Verizon store and compared to the nexus. What a difference, the bolt screen was beautiful. The colors looked the way they should. Ics on the rezound is gonna really make the nexus look bad

Its going to be a cool ass phone but I do have to throw in that the SGS2 held up pretty nicely against it on YouTube. Only thing that the SGS2 didn't woop it on was the browser.....but it wasn't that much slower at all. I will say that it wasn't fair for the quadrant test though, as it is not optimized....but for noobs watching all they seen was the nexus fall on its face...it was sad really...they shouldn't have even ran it.

Pentile ruins it - the subpixel density is about the same as ours.
e.g. there's a reason it isn't HD AMOLED "Plus" - if it's not Plus, it's PenTile.

Rezound screen resolution one of the best?

I think a lot of people underestimate the Rezound. It is a powerful phone only to be held back with Verizon bloat and stuff. 342 PPI is incredible to me. Still one of the best displays out there. Who cares about AMOLED (even though it looks pretty damn good). I have friends with the GS3 and the GNEX. Looking at their phones is nice. But the screen resolution 1280x720 is amazing for a 4.3 inch screen. Wish we had some more up to date Sense 4 roms to compete with the look of the OS. 3.6 is getting kind of old IMO...I cannot move to AOSP because I am attached to the smoothness of sense! A bit off topic here but yeah.
Any input?

Yes one of the best screens to date on any smartphone (not counting those 5in tablet phones) if you consider ppi which rez has 342 best clarity out there. Only other one to compete ppi wise is Sony Experia s which has the same 342ppi with 720p
But for looks GSIII probably does have the best looking cause of samoled HD screen.
Also you know there is Sense 4 roms for the Rez?
I know of some old roms for the rez..but nothing up to date. I only wish there would be some up to date and EFFICIENT sense 4 roms which won't destroy battery life. -_-
