[Q] [REQ] Original bell atrix DockService.apk - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone who has NOT installed the webtop over hdmi mod mind hooking me up with the /system/app/DockService.apk file from before the recent update?
Seems that I inadvertently mucked up my backup of the original file, as the firmware update fails on a hash check of the file =(
Thanks!

I am looking for the same original file from a bell atrix on 2.2.2, any help would be awesome.

[Q] Need DownloadProvider.apk from Atrix

Hi,
I accidently deleted DownloadProvider.apk (from /system/app) from Atrix when undoing the webtop mod. Can someone please post it from your Atrix or let me know where I can get it from?
Thanks.
Flash one of the SBF's available here, depending on your phone (Atrix 4g US or international version)
You didn't specify which version you are running. If you are running the deodexed version you can pull it out of the zip.
1.8.3 can be found here
1.5.7 can be found here
Thanks to adeo for backing up my files...I've attached what I believe are ATT 1.2.6 original files.
I am running odexed version 1.5.7.
ddfault, I tried opening your attached zip file but it fails to extract the files. Can you please check and reattach?
Thanks.
Update your 7-zip!
I used LZMA2 compression. You need to use 7-zip 9.20 which includes it. I attached the same files below with LZMA which should work just fine with 7-zip 4.65 and 9.20.

[Q] Bell gameloft_3games.zip

Hello,
I'm trying to install Bell's gingerbread update for my Atrix but it appears I'm missing the / preinstall / app / "Gameloft_3games.zip" file. I have the bell system dump downloaded that contains all the apps and other random stuff but I cant seem to find the gameloft_3games.zip file. Can someone help me out here?? Maybe share their file with me or maybe tell me what the zip contains so I can try and build a new one?
Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue, I've tried OTA and offline install, also tried modding the update zip to remove the gameloft_3games.zip, but the file is signed and the verify fails...
apk files
I tried creating a zip file and inside of it, I put the apks of the 3 demo gameloft games that came stock with the phone. It didn't work, So I tried making another zip and I dumped every single file in it from the / app folder renaming it to gameloft_3games.zip and that never worked either. So theirs obviously some other kind of files in there that we need...
exact same problem someone please help!
edit: you guys found a solution yet? i've been told on other forums that i think it is the rooting method we used that removed that gameloft file.. i think apparently ATT phones don't need that file or something..so i'm trying to figure out how to get that file back now..
If you do some searching for gameloft_3dgames.zip you'll find a zip of the stock 2.2.2 files available for download. I was able to push the gameloft_3dgames.zip to /data/local/tmp/, remount /preinstall/ read/write, copy it in there, set permissions to 644, remount read-only, reboot, and then apply the update successfully.
Good luck!

[Q] Wifi Problem with Korean Tab (SHW-M380W) after 7510 conversion

Hi Everyone!
I'm posting this here since I don't have posting privileges in the development area.
I have converted my Korean Galaxy Tab 10.1 as explained in the development section in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360588&page=5
to a 7510.
Everything worked fine.
Just one tiny problem I am experiencing:
My Wifi reception has greatly decreased after the conversion.
I noticed this imediately after the conversion but hoped it would "go away" once I had rooted the Tab an installed a modded ROM.
Unfortunately this was not the case.
Does anyone of you other "converters" have any experience with this problem or am I the only one?
best regards an looking forward to your answers

Happy new year to everyone!
Well, since noone seems to have my problem I looked into the files myself.
The wifi drivers and their configuration files are located in /etc/wifi of the system image.
I flashed the korean shw-m380w original version and did a backup using CWM. I then did the same with the original gt-p7510 version.
When I compared the filesizes I noticed differences and the content of the configuration files were different as well.
So I just replaced the contents of the european wifi folder with the contents of the korean one. I had to use a linux shell, since the file permissions need to be saved.
I copied the newly created system tar file into the CWM backup directory of the european version, adapted the the md5 hash in the same directory for the new system tar file and went into CWM and did a restore.
Worked like charm. I'm back to my old, much better, wifi reception performance.
I don't know if this is the fastest an easiest method but it worked....
best regards

i have same problem with you. can you please explain to me step by step how to fix the wifi like you did?
Hi Everyone!
I have done some more experimenting.
Since I wanted to install different Android Versions and different Kernels and the fact that the Kernel Drivers are always compiled to work with only one particualer Kernel, I needed to find a way to improve Wifi reception without having the korean drivers.
I acomplished this by just pasting the config file nvram_net.txt from the korean Android into the directory /system/etc/wifi.
I renamed the original file to nvram_net.txt.orig and pasted, Afterwards I adjusted the permissions to be the same as the ones of the original file and rebooted.
This has worked with every Android Version I installed so far.
I have attached a Screenshot of the directory and the nvram_net.txt file of the korean tab.
I hope I can help somone with this.
To me it seems that the korean tab has just a slightly different Wifi Hardware than the P7510.
best regards

[Q] How To Use .apk.p Files From OTA Update? Is It Possible?

I want to try and flash a single patched .apk from the OTA update everyone else got except T-Mobile (I am looking at the AT&T update specifically). Yes, I could wait until we get ours, but I also want to learn. For what it's worth, I want to try and flash the patched bluetooth.apk to see if it fixed my bluetooth issues.
First off, is it even possible to flash or push a single patch file from an OTA update like that? If not, can I somehow decompile the patch and the original .apk, combine, and flash that? Do I need to extract the apk.p somehow?
Second, how can I deodex it for my ROM? Most decompliers I have seen don't recognize the apk.p format, only .apk. Obviously I can change the extension, deodex it with a tool, then change it back, but I don't know if that's "correct".
Any input on this would be great! Thanks in advance!
PS - Sorry this is posted in two areas, but I thought maybe here was a better spot than device specific. If there is an issue please move/delete as needed. Thanks!
Bump! Is there anyone out there that can direct me to a thread or something about it?

[Q] Lenovo B8000 lost a file help wanted

Hi,
A while back, I rooted my Yoga 10 to mess with the bluetooth keyboard mapping. So I edited hid-keyboard.kcm.
Now, the Android 4.4.2 update won't complete because the file contents of this file don't match what the updater is expecting.
Could one of you kind souls post the contents of /system/usr/keychars/hid-keyboard.kcm from an un-messed-with tablet?
Alternatively, if you could tell me how to make the update process not care about the incorrect file, that would be cool too.
Thanks.
