[Q] Bell gameloft_3games.zip - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

Hello,
I'm trying to install Bell's gingerbread update for my Atrix but it appears I'm missing the / preinstall / app / "Gameloft_3games.zip" file. I have the bell system dump downloaded that contains all the apps and other random stuff but I cant seem to find the gameloft_3games.zip file. Can someone help me out here?? Maybe share their file with me or maybe tell me what the zip contains so I can try and build a new one?
Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue, I've tried OTA and offline install, also tried modding the update zip to remove the gameloft_3games.zip, but the file is signed and the verify fails...

apk files
I tried creating a zip file and inside of it, I put the apks of the 3 demo gameloft games that came stock with the phone. It didn't work, So I tried making another zip and I dumped every single file in it from the / app folder renaming it to gameloft_3games.zip and that never worked either. So theirs obviously some other kind of files in there that we need...

exact same problem someone please help!
edit: you guys found a solution yet? i've been told on other forums that i think it is the rooting method we used that removed that gameloft file.. i think apparently ATT phones don't need that file or something..so i'm trying to figure out how to get that file back now..

If you do some searching for gameloft_3dgames.zip you'll find a zip of the stock 2.2.2 files available for download. I was able to push the gameloft_3dgames.zip to /data/local/tmp/, remount /preinstall/ read/write, copy it in there, set permissions to 644, remount read-only, reboot, and then apply the update successfully.
Good luck!

Here's the post with further instructions and a link to the files:

Extended ROM Unlocking

Hi guys,
I've got an XDAII and I want to be able to see / edit the extended rom...
I've found the cab files I need (elsewhere in this forum) but I have no idea whatsoever how to use them?!?!
I can't run them, so there must be either an app I need or somewhere I need to put them, right?
Please help
Thx
Have you transfeered the cab file to your phone and executed from there?
It's a cab file. You put it on the XDA II in a folder of your choice, then run it, after reboot you will find a new icon in Programs. The rest is simple.
When I try to run it I get:
The is no application associated with "00unhide". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application.

Please post the link to the exact file so I can download and test it.
I just got it working...
After I downloaded the .cab, as I have WinRar I thought that it was something that needed extracting and it didn't!

that's the link anyway, but it works perfectly!
Sorry for being such a idiot
No problem, hope its all sorted for you now.

[Q] hcidump

Hello,
After 2 solid weeks of trying to locate hcidump, I need to turn to this group. I've tried flashing various versions from 2.1 to 2.3, stock, custom, etc. I've even looked into compiling this from Bluez source but it's just beyond my skill level.
*** does anyone know a custom ROM that has hcidump tool in it or the binary or any otherway I get get this onto my x10? ***
Thank you very much and I'd be happy to donate to any cause or person that can help me.
found it!
Hi,
Just when I had almost given up, I found this file. You can find it in the CM7 ROM. I was able to go into the update.zip and find it under /system/xbin. I transferred it over and it seems to work.
Thanks

Can you post a link or upload the file here?
CM7 ROM
Hi,
Here's the link to the compressed file for the CM7 ROM [looks like I'm too new to post URLs, so here it is in a long way]:
www
multiupload
com
/BE5KF9LCLW
Extract it and you'll see a folder /system/xbin subdirectory is a file called hcidump. That's the only file you need. I went to a different ROM and found a file called update.zip which contained the file. But, this link should get you there.
Copy the file to the X10, set permissions to execute you're in business.
Awesome! I needed this for a droix x2 and it works!
Since the download above is a whopping 101MB I've uploaded the file here
www<dot>mediafire<dot>com/file/bslhsmbftyr48bb/hcidump.zip
(I cant post links either!)

[q] uninstalled file manager -- need it back

While I was trying to clear the data of the file manager, I inadvertently uninstalled the file manager.
I am rooted on Virtuous Prime. I tried to use Titanium to extract the file manager from a nandroid backup; this did not work.
I do not have a titanium backup of the file manager.
Surprisingly, I like this stock file manager.
Is there a way I can get it back? A download?
Can I use adb to push the file manager to the device after extracting it from a ROM?
I don't know if this is the right one, but we can try it. It's the only one I could find.
I also have another file called filemanager2.odex
Im thinking that's just the data in my file manager....if you need that 2nd file, let me know
Added the file...had to change odex to zip to upload....just delete zip and change it back

If you are on a stock ASUS firmware, most of your system APKs will be odexed. You need both the APK and the odex file for the app to run.
A lot of custom ROMs have deodexed files for several reasons. Some people swear that deodexed ROMs are faster, some swear the opposite. Modifying deodexed ROMs is theorectically slightly easier also as you only need to deal with one file rather than 2.
This is a rather simple, nonsensical explanation of the situation, and I'm sure other folks will chip in with more accurate definitions, however, getting back to the point, YOU WILL NEED THE ODEX FILE ALSO IF ON STOCK.

[Q] How do I Customise My MX Android TV Firmware (Zip.File)

Hi guys im a noob to the forums and to rom customisation in general so im hoping someone can help me.
I have a generic MX dual core, and have been supplied a flash firmware and image from the supplier. This image is basic and does not contain all of the repos that i want, nor the apps that I require.
The image supplied is a zipfile and contains:
factory_update_param.aml
hd18d_mx4.zip
recovery.img
I am able to successfully restore my box with this image (so I know that the image is working fine).
Within the hd18d_mx4.zip there is:
Directotories: data, META-INF, recovery, system
files: boot.img, bootloaded.img, logo.img
I can see the all the system APK files within the system/app folder. The problem is when i try to add another APK file into this directory within the archive (in this case videomix.apk), I am not able to restore the image to the MX device.
Can anyone help me with a noobies guide to do this. I have read that the apk file has to be signed, and the zip file has to be signed also?? But im not quite sure what this means, nor how I go about doing it.
Any help or tutorials will be much appreciate. I have downloaded the APK-multi-tool but dont have a clue what I need to do
Look forward to your replies.
P.S. Im using a windows 64 bit machine and not Linux (if that makes any difference).
I'm facing the same thing, did you end up having luck with this?
If not is there anyone that can assist?

Verizon 605.3 update.zip anyone have it to sideload?

I see an OTA is available for Verizon. Does anyone have the update.zip file? Im using TWRP and cannot find it anywhere..
THanks in advance
I have downloaded the OTA and have not applied it yet. The only thing is that I do not know what the file is named and I do not know where on my phone it downloaded to. I do know that when I go to status in the software update section of settings, I see that he following file failed to download at an earlier time. HTC_HTC6600LVW_3.09.605.2_R_3.09.605.3_R2, but if I search that file name using Es file manager, I do not find it. If someone knows where I can find it on my phone I will gladly upload it. I also need to find it so I can use TWRP to install it.
