I just went to the store and the Manager behind the damn counter had the Evo3d to his ear on the conference call. I was MAD at this point. I demanded to speak with the District Manager and he told me once he got off the phone with her that they would call me back Thursday to most likely price match what was in the ad. This has been my first phone I have ever got on launch day, and it has turned into more bull**** than I have ever known. Almost not really worth the stress.
EDIT: It wouldn't be so bad, had I not went to the store personally and asked if the phone was going to be 499.99 and was told YES. I'm calling the better business bureau to discuss if this can and is legal to do.

That's simply not true. All you got to do is switch via sprint. It is your phone, they can't dictate how you use it. People upgrade phones all the time via one line, only to use it on another line.
Hi sorry to hear about that...One thing id do tho is go into the store and see if they still have their weekly ad...it was showing 499(i got one) and regaurdless of it was a misprint they SHOULD horor the printed price...Im a manager in retail and they might try and say it was a misprint but if its printed and you raise enough of a stink..You WILL get the price advertised...YMMV but just keep asking to talk to THEIR boss...Happens all the time...Most ppl will accept the misprint..those who dont accept it, get it for 499... hope this helps and u get it

The funny part is, they have the ads sitting on the counter IN THE STORE and are still giving out the $599 price lol. The dude in the RS I went to didnt even know about the $499 price in the ad until I pointed it out. I'm not surprised though.. ive been questioning how RS and Amazon would be able to sell this phone so cheap considering even Sprint is selling it for $549 off contract. Best Buy and Target both raised their prices by $100 last week and I figured RS would follow suit.
Im telling you now, dont be surprised if Amazon changes the price on people Friday lol. Now that would be a tragedy.

edit: To me, the text on the bottom looks a little fake. It's a different font and it looks slightly slanted.. might be me though.
I got that email myself today, funny thing is, I cancelled my preorder last week since i was about to hit 30 days to return the giftcard and once the buyback program was off the table I was out of there

I sure hope this is correct. The font difference doesn't bother me...I've worked for companies that have different fonts in the same sentence. Some people don't care, especially on internal docs.

I ported my number to AT&T to get the Inspire 4G. AT&T is sub par, at least in my area. I have until 3/22 to port back to Verizon so I'm hoping too its 3/17.

Resolution bothered me a lot; everything was super small. Plus, the screen was long and skinny and I wanted something more proportional like the TB or Inspire.
I got an email Best Buy about my preorder today as well. This is the first email from Best Buy since I preordered one month ago, it must be a good sign.

Just saw a commercial for the thunderbolt. First ive seen. Signs seem to be pointing at a release fairly soon.
I would put money on the official announcement coming from VZ tomorrow if the 17th is indeed going to be the day. Not a lot of money....gotta buy accessories.

The phone is launching on the 17th, there is no doubt about it. Its official, and an annoucement should be made tomorrow morning.
P.S. Some stores are opening at 7 AM. I would call your local store to double check. If you're in the LA area, pm me and I'll give you the info to the stores that I know of that are opening early Thursday.
God I hope that the 17th actually sticks! I love my Evo but Sprint service sucks at my job and we have a Verizon cell of some kind there with antennas all throughout the building so I'm dying to be able to make the switch now that they'll have an awesome 100% hackable phone!

Looks like wirefly has pre-order up and says they will ship on the 17th and verizon changed its homepage flash to thunderbolt. Looking good for 17th.

Sprint's becoming more financially tight with what they do, they don't need to bend over backwards anymore because you want something.

I believe you're describing cost ie. Profit is after cost. People like this drive up prices because profits are generally a given, and cost can be passed on to maintain profit.

Sero account here and this is VERY true. They certainly called my bluff when I once attempted to leverage "leaving" Sprint to solve some billing issue I had. They know like I truly know...with this Sero...I won't be going anywhere for a while.

They'll let you upgrade if you ***** enough, my girlfriends a Sprint rep and all they do is give the sales folks a little code to enter to bypass your upgrade date to become eligible.

Do you save that much with SERO accounts? Individual plan w/ 500min and unlimited data is $60 a month, plus $10 premium data? This vs $80 for the same plan (750min too) for general consumers.
But most people get work discount so they only pay $65~ anyways.
I called retentions and simply asked if I could move up my upgrade date so I could get the E3D, did it no problems

Just so you know if you call up 8 times within 45 days they really get pissed about it.I called and the guy said this is your 8th call within 45 days were we not able to help you? then i was transferred to a account manager so watch how many times you call and try.

Amazon is showing backorders also. I got mine from Sprint.. but they have yet to call me to make an appointment to pick it up :/

It just means they are waiting till the 24th to start shipping. Since the phone does not come out till then. They have no inventory of it to ship.
I just called sprint and they stated that there are plenty of 3VO's at telesales. It may cost you more but you will get it at least.

That's my understanding as well.
I ordered online with Radio Shack, and I have the same screen. I called them up, and they said they are not yet authorized to ship.
I'm in black, rep in red.
I didn't waste any time, i order mine yesterday morning (6/21) from Sprint for $199 and it arrived today.

Amazon does show it back ordered on the Add To Cart screen, but when you're ready to pay for it the delivery date is June 28th. That's right on spot with their free 2-day shipping.

Most likely bank of america add it up cash back ($50). $180-$50 = 130.
You get $50 in 6-8 weeks if you order it through the add it up website. Wasn't worth the hassle and you can't switch the phone to a different line on your account for the 1st six months or you get charged like $350.

I'd double check what is covered with that
if its a discounted code or if its just the code for ESRP (which doesn't make sense the way its worded there)
could be an old code, a new code, something you had on there for a while maybe, or something they put on cause they get paid on it and scammed you.
What I can tell you, is that to my knowledge (there is a $4 warranty plan) but It doesn't cover everything that T.E.P. does ...but that **** does say T.E.P. right there so I'm stumped, call and check..simple answer.
Code is TEP4, you are good to go... I have it on all my phones.
You can one or the other for 4 each. Or both for a dollar off...

im connected to sprint chat checking to see if i can use the TEP4 thing....those responses about it on here seem a little detail lacking
the rep has never heard of it before, but is looking into it
will edit when i figure it out one way or the other
edit: yeah they have never heard of that...said there are no promotions

Quick search reveals that tep4 is an SOC code used by Sprint reps to give customers a TEP discount. It may have originated shortly after TEP increased from $4 to $5(1/2005 according to my bills) as a way to appease people who complained about the increase. Historically, increases were $5-$6 in 1/2006 and $6-$7 in 2/2007. Fyi, word is TEP is to increase from $7 to $8 July 24th.
Evidently, the code is still active, but finding a rep who will apply it is the big challenge. I might try it myself.
I wish Sprint would go with someone other than Asurion...I've had bad experiences with them.

They never have phones in stock...I had to wait a week to get a replacement Evo, only for it to have issues. Then I had to wait ANOTHER week to get a new one.

I have never had issues with Asurion. They have been nothing but a pleasure to do business with besides, not having the Evo's in stock is not necessarily their fault. The same would happen with any insurance company Sprint went with. The demand for the Evo was even larger than Sprint and HTC had imagined so every one was out of stock on them and they were on back order everywhere.

Called twice they said no.
I'm not even sure how it got added in the first place.
$4 TEP is insurance only though. Which means only stuff you pay $100 deductible on, so you don't get the warranty and in store repairs of the $7 TEP. So if that is important to you keep the $7 TEP.
EDIT: I may have been wrong. I know TEP used to incorporate two services the insurance and the in store repairs, but since this is being called TEP in the system it may be the same thing as the $7 one but at a discount. just a word of warning because at one point in time you were able to buy the in store service and insurance separately with Sprint.
Actually no to all being a sprint rep you have a choice of service and repair for 4$, equipment replacement for 4$ od both for 7 soon to be 8$

There was a shortage of evo's at the time. Even service centers suffered/suffering with a 3 to 5 day wait on exchanges. i can tell you first hand of the many claims I've filed for customers, its always a smooth transaction.

Well I been with Sprint since the old old Nextel phones, cancelled.. came back in June with the 3D.. Coverage sucks indoors and I couldnt take it anymore so I started researching on how to get out ETF free.
I came up with my own method that is 50x faster than the roaming for months until they decide to terminate you.
I'm still thinking if I should give a family member my phone and keep the contract and get myself a new line on Verizon ( Galaxy nexus)
Or just terminate the line.
As soon as I decide and get out, ill release my secret to a few members. It will only take about 2 days.

This has got to be one of the most pointless posts I've seen in a while, you should ask a MOD to delete it.
Also, most people here on xda aren't the type of people to complain about a contract and try to get out of it. If you're unhappy with your signal, get an air rave or change your PRL. Don't come on here and tell people you have a way to break your contract for free, but you don't know if it works yet..
If you want out, pay the $200 or keep your "secrets" to yourself.

It does work 100% he said he was gonna cancel it but i told him wait and ill call back. It seems like almost every Sprint customer complains and i'm being kind by releasing something that may really make people happy. I have an airrave, but that only works at home. Its mainly buildings. Believe me, I love Sprint and ill definitley return soon. but for now its not working.
I also have a strong feeling your an employee and im not giving the info yet because I dont want it saturated before I get to do my thing.
