Radio Shack called for appointment! - HTC EVO 3D

I just got a call from radio shack confirming that I was still on for the 24th. So this means that they must be getting in their shipments. I was told that I could come in at 8am on friday to pick up. They usually open at 9am so they must be doing pre-orders before they open. not sure on that. But anyway.
on a side note:
I went to my local sprint store today and the CS there had a evo 3d to play with. I am very excited for this phones arrival. I think the the camera quality is good. Its not any worse than the evo 4g, I have to wait til fri to go in depth with it but I feel 100% positive about using my upgrade for this phone. Also when in portrait the parallax barrier has no effect on the screen, being, I could not detect it even being there. In landscape I had the same result.

radio shack already has them in
I went to my local radio shack yesterday. The manager just happens to be my friend because I rooted his and his wife's phones. But anyways he showed me the phone and I was able to look at one and hold it. Unfortunately they sku isn't in there system yet so he couldn't sell it to me yet but he will contact me as soon as he can if it's before Friday. Ill keep you radioshakers posted as soon as I know. But they are definitely there already.

yeah i just got confirmation my local RS has 15 of them and all the cases and screen protecters. mine got them into about a hour ago

Called my RS earlier and spoke to the manager. They're not opening early but he said since I was first on the list, to come by 15min before opening...so 9:45 for me. I wish the HTC kickstand case was out for Friday but it looks like we won't see it til July

Picking mine up on Friday from RS too! Gonna be the best lunch break I've ever had from work.

Hell yeah, I unfortunately have to work also, but not till 3pm. Then I have sat sun off to play with the beast! It will be hard not to get yelled at for playing with my phone to much on friday. The only reason ill get yelled at will be because they are jealous Iphone sheep, that dont like other ppls phone to be better.

The guy who called me told me he contacted Sprint for me and got my upgrade pushed forward (originally not till Sep. 1st), so I get my 3D for 100$ after turning in my old Evo. I was looking to spend around $500. Bonus!
Radioshack (or at least this employee) just made my experience with them sweeter than I could imagine. Definitely tipping this dude $40 +.

If you can upgrade on Friday, go to Sprint cause they give $150 trade in plus you get to keep ur SD card and cables.

The rs hear called too. Offered to ask her boss to open early just so I could pick up my phone! hah.

Got mine today in the mail and LOVE IT...!!!!!!

Hmmmm, thanks for the info! Sprint told me $100, then they told me they weren't accepting any old Evos. I don't know if anyone working there knows whats going on, so I swayed away from them. And, I already bought a no refundable gift card from RadioShack, so I might as well use it I guess.

That's weird, but I'd take advantage of it. Buy another phone and sell it or use it on another line.

I had the same situation. DON'T SAY ANYTHING!! I let it go through one billing cycle to make sure it was still there and it was. I was able to use it again and they never caught it
more then likely, whoever set ur phone up at the sprint store did an ESN swap and not an upgrade.. i used to work for a sprint retailer and i've seen associates do this so many times..
if u don't see an $18 upgrade fee on ur next bill then thats exactly what happened, and i wouldn't worry about it at all...
yeah, leave it be and enjoy an error in your favor.
i've got just the opposite and have to go back to re-enable my upgradabilty since they forgot to turn it back on after returning my evo 3d. but i may end up getting it again since sprint has fixed the data problem in my area and is now better than it used to be.

Every rep knows not to do that or their employer would be out the cost of the phone. You must have worked with some real idiots.
What happens is, OP might have accepted some type of deal or credit...
Then they go in and manually change the eligibility... OP, check your contract... What does it say for term? 24 Months? or NC? I suggest using it before you lose it. They do this thing called a audit you know...

You're a SERO/Everything Plus Plan customer aren't you? On the store's end, they did the upgrade correctly. Now when you go somewhere else to use the "second" upgrade (not a corporate store, go to Best Buy or something), they're going to notice that your end date is 2 years from now even though you're upgrade eligible. 95% chance they give you the upgrade anyways because it's money for them. The people at the first store are going to get their report back saying that the upgrade actually DIDN'T go through. So they call up their own support line, which gives them credit for the error, but then the second store you went to gets screwed out of their commision. So for example, if you used your second upgrade towards a Nexus S 4G, they just sold you a $550 phone for $150. Get it? Don't ask how I know. I never did this, but I'm friends with a manager at a Sprint indirect store who explained it to me. He said the second store you go to won't come after you because Sprint has a "customer is always right" policy (don't quote me on that). He said he's done it for the same customer 3 times and nothing has happened.

its an error in the system they use, think back, did the rep say anything unusual
like, hmm it didn't apply your upgrade price, or bare with me I've had a system error
happens all the time, now the rep should have gone back into your account and manually applied the upgrade, but more then likely didn't
it's an in house violation on the rep, and the corp system IT guys are trying to fix it
I wont go into anymore detail as to what it is or how I know

LOL well yeah since they moved my upgrade 6 months as soon as it appears on my account I went to get the phone it took them a second time to activate it cause the first time didn't go thru

You can use it but you'll get the rep in trouble if you do. They would have to pay the difference of the retail price of the phone and the price they gave it to you for. So if it's a NS4G and they sold it to you for $150, $550 - $150 = $400 out of their own pocket, plus a slap on the wrist.

wow.. amazing how u can speak for what "every" rep knows about.. are u in the minds of every rep??? I used to to do training sessions in different areas for employees, and u would be surprised at what "every" rep knows and don't know..
ie: employee does esn swap and not an upgrade.. employee still gets paid commission on following check.. 3-6 months later store gets hit with price of phone, not employee.. depending on how retailer operates, employee losses that commission in 3-6 months, not pay for the phone..
like i said.. i worked for sprint retailer for years and have seen this NUMEROUS times..
retailer is to corporate, like night is to day.. complete opposites..

On a side note can you make the gingerbread and myns theme that you make for the evo a while back but for the 3d if possible just as skin since I haven't rooted yet I would really appreciate it and i'm pretty sure a lot people will too

Samsung Galaxy Note $199

Frys now has the Note for $199 for new and upgrade customers. I just got mine yesterday. I called Best Buy and told them and they said just to go in and show them the ad with the price and they'll price match it. So for those that have waited, I think now is a good time to buy.

If you bought it within 30 days from ATT, call them and they will give you the difference of 100 buck credit on your next bill. Just did it. Make sure you say you were told that you can get it.

Thanks for the tip. I'm currently on the phone with them getting my account credited $100. At first, they suggested that I return the phone and then go get it at Frys, but after I asked to speak to a supervisor and I pointed out how ridiculous it was that they wanted to lose the total sale of the phone instead of just crediting me $100, they went ahead and credited the difference.
Don't be mean, but don't give in. Niceness goes a long way with CSRs. They have to deal with such typically crappy crap all day, every day.
I just came back from Best Buy. Got $100 back on the card I used. Was in and out in 10 minutes. No problems at all. Pretty stoked that I got the Note for $200.
I justed called AT&T and they said they couldn't match fry's price for note and new line. No luck with best buy either because they say store has to be in a 20 mile radius. So for now I'm still note less!
Looks like ill be going back in to BB to get money back! Got mine last week at $299

Yeah. No problem . The $149.99 would have been awesome but I tried 3 different Best Buys and no luck. $199 is still a pretty darn good price for a phone that started at $300 a month or so ago.
Lovin' the Note so far...Barely got it yesterday. I came from owning a Dell Streak for over a year now and my goodness this phone just blows the Streak away. I don't think I'm going back to owning a "regular" sized phone any time soon.

You should try calling again. AT&T will do it. If the first person says they can't, ask to talk to their supervisor.
The Frys ad is for upgrades, too.

That's exactly what happened to me. I price matched last weeks ad that ended yesterday which was $230 and went back today to price match it again. And I just got the phone yesterday.
I just did the $239.00 price match at BB yesterday due to the Fry's ad. Now heading back to BB with the new Fry's ad to get price match to $199.00. I originally bought the Note from BB and had signed up for the BB offer a while back to get $50.00 credit if I bought a new phone from them. Now, my note only cost me $149.00. Not bad.

I preorderd my evo lte through Sam's club for $150. Has anyone received their phone yet? I'm getting anxious! I got an email last week saying that it would only be in the warehouse for 1 hour before they would ship it out to me. Haven't heard anything since.

I work there. From my knowledge none of the stores in my area (Houston) have gotten them in. We even got a memo saying to expect delays because of the customs incident and that the possible launch date would be Wednesday May 30th. Also said phones would probably ship this week.

The Stores in the Charlotte area haven't gotten any either.. and probably want for awhile.. Sams Club seems to get the latest and greatest on the site months before the store ever sees it.. ( I've been with sams for over 10 years )

Yea, I was considering doing the same thing. But Im really torn between the 2. Evo lte or galaxy nexus. I was initially waiting on the g-nex, but after realizing there is no sd slot (which I dont think I can coupe with) and a lower res cam (why on earth would they do that) plus the addition to the evo's cam abilities, slow mo + hdr and to top it off with an 8 mp cam and 2.0 fstop and micro sd, its kinda hard to ignore all of that, not to mention a faster processor (which im sure the gnex will be oc'ed and the evo too) and slightly bigger screen.
PLUS (caps intended) for only $150? Its like I have no other choice but to pick the evo over the gnex (altho I know primarily what Im speaking is entirely off topic) so yea, I will be pre-ordering this week sometime, not knowing how long I will be waiting.
To answer your question though (which I've forgotten by now): N/A
I just ordered one yesterday and it said 2-3 weeks before shipping. I'm not good for a new phone till June 1, so they'll put it through then. And the insurance is only $6.99 a month.
Just checked my order status and it still says approved awaiting inventory. 7:55 pm on Monday.

I guess i shouldn't of said "release date" . But I called Sams 1-888 number to check on update, they told me they will be shipping my phone tomorrow.

Mine does too, but you should get Tracking Number email tomorrow . If not then Sams Rep. would have LIED to me ... But i asked and re-asked and mentioned the 2 to 3 week period stated on their website and she still said it'll be at my door steps this Wednesday (Assuming everyone got the free overnight shipment).
Just checked again and it still says waiting on inventory. Has everyone else who pre ordered through sprint and best buy received their phones?

As far as the webpages looking the same, thats just a Portal Tool they use to order phones/services through Service providers, however that's all they have in common, stocking/inventory is still through Sams Club and webpage has nothing to do with that.
Clearly the Sams Rep. had no clue about the phone being held by customs. Getting my hopes ugh curse her!
Anyways so i called Wal-Mart last week (before pre-ordering from Sams) and they tell me that they don't carry Sprint.
I go today to get a few things and i checked out their Electronics section just for the heck of it. SURE ENOUGH I SEE SOMEONE purchasing the Brown Boxed LTE EVO! Boy did i get excited, so when I ask that i wanted one too, they told me that, that was the last one. and they had no clue when they were going to get more in. UGH!
I also slightly fussed about why someone told me that they didn’t carry sprint, they gave me no response, just said “I don’t know why they told you that.” Talk about poor communications to customers.
I also pre-ordered in store through Sam's Club for $149.74. Their orders are handled by cellstores.com which is a service of Simplexity. We are all in the same boat as the Wirefly group. Waiting without any info from Sam's Club, Sprint or Simplexity.
Although they did tell me in store last Thurs (5/24) that it would ship Friday (5/25) and I would have it Tuesday (5/29) because of the holiday. Didn't believe her then and I absolutely do not believe her now.
I sent a pretty nasty email to Sam's and they offered me a Bluetooth headset. I really don't want a cheap headset I want to know when will I get my phone! I guess in the future I will use BB or Sprint.

usually new products wont go on sale on black friday!! but keep in mind you always have 30days policy so even if you get it now and tell them you got your phone 20 days ago and you want the same deal as everyone else.... they should take care of you!...

Congrats on getting a Note 2 man! Hopefully we'll still see you around every once in a while.
Mind if I asked where/how you got it?
My upgrade isn't available for a while, and I'm not sure adding a line and then paying the extra 10 bucks a month for it to get the subsidized fee is worth it. What's the most economical way? Is ATT selling it off contract for $599 like they do with most if their phones?
Hey james...Actually me and my wife signed up for AT&T in March 2012...I've had a few problems with my phone...But I called 611 and got through a sales rep...I asked politely since am having some phone issues if could receive a early upgrade...He asked his supervisor and whalaa..The phone is 299.I received the upgrade for my line but not my wifes....(she has a s2) And that was it...I had to use a credit card to put the phone on a hold until it ships then they charge the credit card...Its worth a shot if you had it...the worst they can say is no..But if so..Sell your current device in CL for 300 or 350 and use that for your upgrade..so your not using anything....Try it ..Can't hurt :thumbup:

I'm in the same situation with my RF and SD issues. I'll give it a shot asap.
what kind of sd card do you have?..I just realized mine is a 16gb class 2 sd card...That's a very slow read/write speed ..
There was a sd card fix somewhere I would try First though before deleting anything I'll look for it .
Here is some info on classes of micro sd cards and there read/write speeds I found this...Am getting a faster one for the note2....

I was also having trouble with my Note and finally after speaking to a supervisor, he said I could get any other phone for the upgrade price (except the iphone). I told him I wanted the Note 2. He told me the system would not let him order that since it had not come out yet. This was last Friday. I told him I would wait then. He said he was putting the offer in my case notes. So I plan to call back this Friday and hopefully get the Note 2.

Having trouble with calls. I keep fading in and out and my wife is so frustrated she won't answer my calls. I can hear the other party, but they can't hear me and it happens no matter what location I am at.
Mine is up on CL but I'm gonna go the nexus 4 route.
Love my note but I'm ready for vanilla android with speedy updates.

This is a rather long narrative, but it illustrates the inconsistency of dealing with AT&T. I know we have all have read posts in these forums and thought to ourselves that they must be lying, because I tried the same thing, but I did not get that result. So anyway I called this morning to get my upgrade and was told I must have misunderstood, because I had owned my phone for only 8 months and it is impossible to get an upgrade. I said there were supposed to be notes on this, and they said there were, but it was unclear whether it was a standard upgrade or just an early upgrade, and that they were not able to contact the supervisor who I spoke to. They said they still wanted to help and the fourth person I spoke to came up with this elaborate plan. I would add a dummy line for $10 a month and they could have my new phone added to this number. They would give me $150 credit and also credit 6 months of email ($90) so the $10 for the 24 months of my commitment would be a wash. I told him that I did not want any of my plan to change, since much of it is grandfathered rates. He said he could code it so it would stay the same. So right before he was to confirm, he said sorry, I would have to change to a family plan. I said no, and asked him why he could code in this complicated plan, but couldn't do some code for an upgrade. He said he couldn't and after a 2 hour phone conversation I was back at square one. So this afternoon I called back to find out what it would cost me to discontinue service and decided I would switch to another carrier and get a new Note 2. The guy asked me why I was canceling my service, I told him and he said he looked at my account and I have really been put through the wringer. He said he could help, and I said I have heard that line before. About ten minutes later he came back on the line said he had authorized an upgrade and for my inconvenience will deduct $50 from the price and charge me $249.99. He also said he will throw in free priority shipping and I will receive it Monday. After giving him my credit card number and thanking him he said wait, I see your last statement has just come out, to keep you as a valued customer, we will pay that also, I am marking that as paid right now. You could have knocked me over with a feather. As I was typing this, I received my email confirmation that it has already shipped. What a crazy deal.

Got my EVO LTE for only $.99

Not sure if this has been posted, or even if I can post something like this, but I am upgrade eligible and really wanted a EVO LTE because I liked how the white version looked and the SVDO is also really appealing. I was searching forever for a deal, and really didn't want to even pay $50 the other week at Best Buy and I missed the day where BestBuy.com was selling for free. I came across an old SlickDeals post -

I paid the $10 4g fee since the og evo. Never got 4g on two lines, so I complained and got a two line contract reset and 200 credit and an evo lte and galaxy s3 free. Try this over the phone with tech help after the third call and remember what you say. Sprint made my day, and it's wonderful having 4g all over chicago (not there yet officially) even in a warehouse basement from the 1910's. 5gb each day and never roaming or throttled, unlimited is the best. But i must say the evo lte is a way better phone, but the samsung has way better reception. Bye HTC loved my last 6 years with you, but back to samsung because i get signal. :crying:
if only I waited a bit longer. oh well. looks like i'll be getting my brothers two evos for their christmas gifts

Got mine my wife one for Christmas last week through bestbuy.com ...it was a 24-hour free Evo LTE with contract extension...since I got my evo in July I jumped all over it...gotta keep an eye out for all those deals.
Anyone received there's yet that was ordered this way? Curious. Actually JUST came back from the store after buying one to replace my broken one ($99 upgrade was cheaper than the $150 Asurion deductible), havent activated it yet but need to tonight, wonder if I could return it when this 99-cent one arrives.
Mine was delivered within 48 hours of ordering, but I was also within 30 mins of a UPS warehouse.

Well, despite having already done the upgrade at the store, activating and extending my contract I still placed an order for this that evening and it came today. Returned the Evo I just paid $150 for to the store, activated the one I paid 99 cents for when I got home without any problems. Of course, returning the one I bought in-store also undoes the contract extension associated with it, we'll see at what point the 99 cent one reinstates the extension. Definitely glad I saw this thread though, definitely saved me money!
