I bought my streak two months back. I flashed the streak droid 1.9. But now the PDMI connector socket is hosed, it will not connect on USB or charge. I tried many different cables, removing batteries, replugging etc nut with no availI would need to return it back to dell for repairs. How do I flash the original rom back on to the unit using SD card method only
It's as simple as going to the Dell Streak Wiki and downloading the update.pkg that your phone is supposed to be on.
If you had searched a little you could have found it on your own.
If you have the stock recovery on your phone you need the update.pkg (rename the pkg file after downoading), if you have a custom recovery you can go here click on the folder for the ROM you want and download the update.zip file for that rom to your phone. This will install the ROM with a recovery such as StreakMod Recovery.

Hello, my P500 is not detectable any more by any computer.
The usb charging is working but cannot be detected as a hardware.
I had this problem since I bought the phone. Once in a while my Optimus One was not detected by my computer, but I though is a driver related problem. Now is a permanent problem, no matter I do I cannot connect the phone to the computer. I made some research on the internet, inlcuding this forum a lot, and I found that is a hardware problem and I must return it to warranty!
Here comes my second problem:
I rooted the phone. I need to remove any trace of rooting to return it to warranty, but how?
My phone has a 2.3.3 version of Android and I rooted with the following method (the only one has worked for me): I downloaded su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip and install it using clockwork mode -> Install zip function! After that a SUPERUSER icon apeared on my applications but not a removal possibility!
I tried to delete de apk file using Root Explorer, but it says that is a protected program!
Is there any way to install a new firmware from the SD card? I have clockwork recovery instaled on the phone. Is there any way I can write a firmware from SD with any recovery software? How?
If is not possible, how can I remove the Superuser and make it ready to send it back to warranty?
Thanks!
Ok, I found a way to remove Superuser. I installed GingerBreak and choose the Unroot option! Is simple, but is strange because my phone cannot be rooted with this software, only unrooted!
However I ended up with another problem! How do I remove Clockwork mode? I tried to flash some "so-called" recovery.img for my phone but not a chance!
I rooted back my phone to have a better control. Any idea on how do I remove clockwork mod? I don't have a back-up image of my original ROM or something.
i think you can just flash back stock recovery, which should be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065197
Well I tried the link above before, but is not working. When I power up the phone pressing Home+Volume down is still loading cloackwork recovery 3.1.0.0
I downloaded the img from the link above, writen with the write zip from clockwork mode, but still not working.
What should I do?
Flash Kdz file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060121
Man I cannot flash KDZ with any computer! I told you, my phone cannot be connected to any computer. My computer cannot see the phone and install the drivers! I checked on 3 computers! I need a KDZ install from SD Card, is such thing possible?
HI
I have read many of the Forums and seen Various Videos on how to install new ROMS onto the dell streak. There are dedicated members who contribute to these forums.i THANK THEM FOR THEIR TIME..I have a couple of questions ?
I have updated my streak from PKG 351 to 360 and this was straight forward and I did not need to change the recovery as I am from region 00
1.I followed all instructions and loaded Fastboot with Dell drivers but when I updated the recovery file there was no indication that this was carred out.
2.I know the next step is to update the PKG but I am not sure if the recovery was loaded.I looked at the information on the phone and its still E.U
3.I want to install Latest Olleh rom
Thanks
In recovery mode after you select "update from sd" it will show the version of the recovery.
You may try to flash over existing recovery even if its not 350, it will just fail. But it will no harm to your prone
Hi
I have used this as my guide
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9694 ( I used XP before and could not get it to work.I am on windows 7 now and I got fastboot to work
Recovery IMG and PKG file is on SD card
1.Recovery file is run as and update Pakage ?
1. Verfy version of recovery - boot in recovery mode and choose "software update via update.pkg on sd card" (I've already flashed to 407 olleh, so I cant say what id got 350 recovery. You may ask someone who still got 350 recovery, or wrote it down)
2. If version is correct - flash.
Again - you may flash on any recovery, but success is guarantied only on 350.
Don't forget - YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA EXEPT FILES ON SD CARD AFTER UPGRADE
By the way that guide is exhaustive
Hi
My issue was that I downloaded the IMG but did not run it as update.
I am running on 407.I wll see how this ROM functions and it might be time to add some custom Roms ;-)
It was easier using Windows seven when using Fastboot.
Thanks

Trouble with update.pkg
I've tried 5 times to flash the 407 rom. I flashed the 350 recovery in fastboot. I put the 407 pkg on the root of my streak sd card, renamed it to update.pkg.Then booted into recovery and opted to apply update.pkg from sd. It says the update is applied, but just stays on Dell screen. The only thing I have done different from the guide is I havent been rebooting through fastboot, just pulling battery after recovery is flashed. Any ideas?

reboot via fastboot (fastboot reboot) and go directly into recovery by holding the volume up and volume down buttons.
If that doesn't work flash the 407 recovery instead, reboot using fastboot directly into recovery and install the update.pkg from there.
You mean the 407.pkg? I couldnt find the 407 recovery img
Marvin, thanks, apparently that last step(rebooting via fastboot and going directly to update was critical). I'm actually running Longhorn 2.1 v2 now and am liking it so far. I'll run it for a while.

Nope - I meant the recovery. You can find it here.

Glad you got it sorted. FYI - when you want to thank someone for a useful post click on the thanks button for that post.
Trying the 407 recovery now, the 350 didnt work even when rebooting via fastboot. Im sure the proper recovery is being flashed as they ended in 35014 and 40714 just before flashing update.pkg. Still on dell logo, going to wait 5 more minutes. Does my phone being rooted affect anything?
finally got there, probably took 20 attempts. Was going from custom gb rom via streakdroid recovery. flashed streakdroid 1.9.1,then recovery 350 and 407 update.pkg, then factory reset . I do have flashing lights , so going to try reflashing bb
Problems in update
I have downloaded 407 and moved to my sd. I have then reboot to update the pkg. But I might unable to download any recovery both 350 and 407. Says content is not supported by this phone. The I have version 355 version. Pls help
I have got a stock 2.2 ROM, so I decided to update the PKG and recovery using Fastboot. I did the recovery bit fine but it's taking its sweet old time with the update.pkg, is this normal?
Btw, I'm in the UK so I got the latest O2 version 319, build 12792 which matches what it says in the about phone section.
Could be because I'm updating with the same pkg that it's not got anything to update, if that makes sense!?
If so, how do I know I have streakmod installed then? Can I remove the pkg file from the SD Card and try accessing the boot menu then going to option 2?
EDIT- It hasn't updated because when I try and update it again when there is no pkg file on the SD card, I get a blue message from Dell Update Utilty or something.
When I did try to update it, I had left it running for 30 mins but there was simply a black screen. The guide from-
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9694
says it should take around 10-15 minutes though, so is this normal?
I am currently trying to flash my vibrant back to stock 2.2. My latest attempt was done using the AIO tools. Every method I have tried has lead to the Vibrant boot screen appearing for a few seconds, and then rebooting. Any suggestions?
Have you tried Odin?

Yes, I have tried Odin with and without AIO tools. In all of the threads I have looked at, the answer seems to be flash back to 2.2 stock, but that is what I am trying to do. Thanks.
Try to boot into recovery and factory reset and see if that breaks the bootloop. If not, see below.
*********
Do you have a nandroid backup of the 2.2 you were on an using? If so, I suggest Odin-ing to stock (2.1), then pull the CWR from my signature put it on your internal card and label it Update.zip. Boot into recovery and hit Reinstall Packages. It will cycle through and you'll have to hit it again. It will cycle through again and your stock (blue) recovery will go to CWR (green). From there you can restore your nandroid backup of the 2.2 you last made (or should have).
You can go to 2.1 using the toolbox, as it has the correct pit/tar files to do so.

I currently can not get into recovery mode. I am holding the power, vol+, and vol- buttons, inserting the battery and then releasing them when the vibrant screen appears. But it just continues to boot cycle.
I flashed the pit and tar that came with AIO tools. No go. Still just boot cycles. Sorry for being a pain.
I do have a backup, but I am not sure what I can do with right now.
Try turning the phone off, plug in USB hold just volume up and power on the phone..... that should put it into download where you can run Odin and flash back to stock

related problem (sort of)
Solved: problem solved. I reflashed CM7 over the bootlooping mess, and it took. Then I was unable to get AIO Vibrant Toolbox to recognize that debugging mode was on, even though it was. So I just copied the files over and went through a massive round of forcing the zip files on again and again. I now have Slim 3.5 on my phone, so I can start playing with it.
*****************************************
I'm an extreme noobie, trying to upgrade my T959 to ICS. I've picked Slim 3.5 (latest release version as of this week) as my first attempt (but really any simple but well-functioning ROM will do for me).
I've rolled back to Eclair (from the official Tmo Froyo upgrade way back when), rooted, and numerous times followed various directions to install the zip for Slim -- sometimes trying CM7 as an intermediate step. The CM7 install failed in the same way as the ICS, as described below.
I've done it with and without AIO Vibrant Toolbox. I've used ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.2 to wipe the data, clear both cache partition and Dalvik cache, and format system. I've popped the zip file in various folders and at toplevel, both external and internal SD.
In all cases, it gets off to a good start, and then I'm left with endless bootlooping: Vibrant logo, Mod logo, a textblock of about 15 lines, repeat. I've always been successful after that in using Odin3 v1.81 to get back to Eclair.
I got sucked into a tech vortex until 4:30 am last night trying again and again, and I'm way way too old for that!
Any thoughts?
Hi there, good night.
I'm having a problem with my Streak that I cannot seem to be able to fix.
I've followed the instructions in XDA wiki to flash the Streak with a stock ROM, downloaded FastBoot files and placed them all together in a folder, put my Streak into fastboot and flash the recovery image, all ok so far, then the screen goes blank and I press vol up and down keys to bring the menu where I can install the update.pkg, and here is where the problem comes up.
After I choose option 2 to "Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card" the screen goes blank and nothing happens, screen's background is lit up but it doesn't get to the point with the blue font giving you the option to press the camera button to upgrade from the update.pkg.
I'm trying to use package 407 from the ROMs wiki here in XDA, I've formatted the SD card on FAT32 and placed in it just the 407 update package, and used the recovery image from 407 as well.
I've tried with a couple more like 405 and also 360, but nothing works, all do the same.
Is there anything I can do? is my Streak's internal disk dead? I can get into fastboot and run some diagnostics, but it seems the Streak cannot read from the SD Card? or cannot apply the recovery image properly? I've tried with 3 different working SD cards, but same result.
Any help will be great, I'm afraid my Streak is bricked...
hmm... that is weird because i never had that kind of problem... are you positively sure you are not missing any steps? usually things happen when you miss even 1 step...
when you choose to upgrade, you are upgrading from what? you should provide more details bout it so that people can know which step you might miss...
I'm assuming you have flashed the recovery again to make sure that went well, correct?
Just for the sake of trying something you could flash Streakmod and boot into it just to get something working. Also from Streakmod you can format the SD (the external one) and then place a fresh copy of your update.pkg on it by mounting the external SD also from Streakmod
If you can boot into Streakmod then go back and flash the factory recovery.img again

Hi, I sincerely appreciate anyone who can help me to install the original ROM back to my Japanese Ascend D1 (HW-01E).
I have download the original ROM. But I get stuck as following instruction on recovery from other sites and forums does not work.
I got the phone cheap from China and the Chinese store install CWM recovery and a Chinese ROM on it...and
I am left without a SD card
Some site mentions connecting the phone to PC and it would install some drivers but nothing happen.
I manage to get the recovery screen of CWM recovery but I get the original ROM not as a zip file. It ends with .app. Some site mention a tool that extracts from the app file but again the extracted files cannot be installed with the install from zip option. So I guess install from zip does not work for the original ROM.
Some site mentions that I can do a factory reset and connect the phone to PC without a battery to get a fastboot by pression power on and volume down. I try it without the factory reset and it does not do a fastboot.
What to do...I need help....
