What would you like to see/think would be cool/only possible with the Evo 3D?
1. Dual focus images: Not sure how well this would work or how well the effect would even be perceived, but independently focus each camera when taking a 2D image (obviously requires someone to figure out how to use both cameras in 2D mode). Possibly result in a easy Tilt Shift photo.
2. 10mp image: Doubt this one is even possible really, but stitching an image from each camera together.

#2 won't work.
5mp+5mp doesn't = 10mp
10mp would be like taking the first 5mp shot and attaching the 2nd 5mp shot by a corner to one of the corners of the first shot.

Assuming the boxes with the 1's in them are 5mp each, a 10mp box would be made by making lines enclosing the 2 other boxes - where the X's are.
With the 2x5mp cameras, you'd only have 1/2 the data necessary to create a 10mp picture.

I think it would be cool to invert the 3-d...
To take a picture of someone's head and "pop it inside out" so that their nose was the furthest point AWAY from you, rather than the closest.
I don't know if this would be as simple as swapping the two images or not - so the right displays on the left and the left displays on the right.
Nothing like playing with someone's mind by inverting the way they think the world is and showing it to them =D

Alright... Kindof.
You can get 10mp across, but your vertical resolution wouldn't increase. You'd get some really wide pictures.
To double the size of a photo, you have to quadruple the pixels... Not double them.
I'd love to see some great high quality 3D Augmented Reality apps that incorporate 3D. I'm sure there would be good money interactive 3D AR. I know it's cheesy and all, but those little pet games are very popular (personally not a fan). One thing that I would find absolutely fantastic is an app that allows you to draw or create cool 3D shapes in AR. When you close out of the app, all your drawings save and when you open it again you can continue creating awesome stuff and building an alternate digital reality splattered with your creativity. And it would be vital to add in a feature so you can add friends so you can share your world with them.

1) both images are offset as they are taken from different points, wouldn't work
2) again, different angles of the same image, wouldn't work

turn the phone upside down
or, open the mpo file in something like "stereophoto maker" (freeware), press "x" (swaps images round) and save the new mpo file back to the phone. (am sure there will be an app to do this eventually)

Again, you don't really understand what "megapixels" means. It is already width x height in the picture. Example: 1000 px x 1000 px = 1,000,000 px or 1MP
If you double one dimension, you double the MP of a photo. I didn't say you made it "twice as big." Yes, I agree that when people say twice as big they usually mean twice the height and twice the width, which is really 4x as big.
on to a different camera idea i just thought about.....
you know when you try to take a picture inside of a moving subject and it always blurs due to lights and ****. wonder if you could make an app that fires the cameras a split second from each other and you can choose one of the better pics

You could also do something like this (ignore "-" sign):

Using two camera for 2d shoot can have only benefit in focus and sharpness, because 80% of picture is same on bouth cameras
The 3D is nice and all, but the dual camera seems like it ought to have real potential:
1) HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos
2) Accurate? distance measuring
3) 3D model generation
4) Facial security for lock screen - 3D based, so can't be faked with a photo
5) "Corrected" 2D photos - use the differences between dual photos to filter out artifacts? Better low light photos / night vision?
6) Action shooting (alternate cameras for faster snap shotting?)
7) "Hand" lock screen? (take a 3D photo of your hand, to unlock your phone?)
Just throwing stuff out there I haven't a clue on how to actually create any of those, or even if they're possible.

Try fast burst camera from the market. Doesn't use both camera's but takes pictures quite fast.

i thought creating 3D icons... and use the 3D cam. to create a wallpaper of the image the camera see in 3D in combination i think that looks cool.

3D Video Chat!
We already have 3D video recording so something like live video chat does not seem like too much of a leap. Most video chat programs don't support the front camera of the Evo4g let alone the Evo3D. Having a program that specifically targets the Evo3D for 3D video chat would be an amazing feature to compliment this awesome phone.

What video chat apps don't support the 3D's front camera? Yahoo, Tango, Fring, Skype, and Qik all do, that only leaves Oovoo. Plus the front camera won't do 3D, it wouldn't be video chat, you could stream live in 3D though.

This would be normal in my opinion. You have 3 different lenses of different quality (the main 1x being superior). You also have different zooms which means the auto white balance will probably be different since the scene on each is different. You also have a different amount of light entering each meaning different iso and/or exposure time.
This will all have a slight impact on the output of the picture. To get the closest look you would probably need to shoot raw.
That said, take a look at the 3 pictures I took of some frame in the room I'm staying at. I find the 3 to be relatively comparable (all taken in auto, master AI off). The 0.6x white balance is a bit off. It also look a bit blurry since the crop for the frame is much more exaggerated than the other 2.
I've noticed some white balance difference when taking shots outside mostly between the 1x and 3x lenses but like I said, sort of expected outcome. If you want to make sure it looks almost identical, you'll have to start playing with manual white balance, pro mode and possibly raw.
A real life example of 2 shots I took recently on a trip. One with the 0.6x, other with 1x. In this case, I'd say the 0.6x colors are slightly more vivid. Again, that's just the auto post processing of the phone based on overall scene exposure (these were also auto, ai off).
In lightroom I could probably get both to look identical even having shot them in jpg format.
Anyway, hopefully this all helps?

That's brilliant thanks alot. Makes a lot of sense. I'm still getting used to this camera and have taken a few great photos so far but seems to be a lot of trial and error finding the best mode for a certain situation.

My tip to you: I stay in auto mode, ai turned off for almost all pictures only switching to portrait or aperture when needed.
I sometimes adjust exposure in high contrast scenes by tapping where I want to focus and then dragging the little sun icon up or down. I've almost never used pro mode as I was usually happy with the outcome.
As you probably already know, there is more than one way to take close-up pictures with your P30 Pro. You can use the dedicated Super Macro mode (found under More in your stock camera app) or manually set the focus to macro in Pro mode. However, two years of experience have taught me that by far the best way to take really crisp macro shots with my phone is not an obvious one. In fact, I bet you have never even tried it.
You see, our phone comes with 2 primary lenses, each with its own sensor. The main lens boasts a 40MP sensor, making it the default choice for your everyday shots, while the wide secondary lens has a 20MP sensor, which makes it sound a little underwhelming. However, when it comes to macro photography, the wide lens has one major advantage over its big brother - a much shorter minimum focus distance. This allows you to bring the lens much closer to your subject before the image becomes blurry. So to take superior close-up shots with your P30 Pro, all you have to do is switch to the wide lens by selecting the Wide picture mode in the camera app. You can combine this with the dedicated HDR mode (found under More in your stock camera app) to eliminate any unwanted shadows. However, be aware that at such close proximity to the subject the autofocus can no longer be relied on. So manual focusing is strongly recommended.

It's actually up to you. The RAW file only offers you a lot more freedom, with greater dynamic range and sharpness than a jpg file. You can crop and still get a perfectly sharp picture, you can play with lighting, shadows, colors ... to get exactly what you want.
In my case, a better quality and a more realistic / natural look. Most of the time, I get oversaturated pictures, with an exaggerated HDR effect and lack of detail using the auto mode (and I'm not only talking about macrophotography).
Regarding this specific RAW picture, I cropped and increased saturation and texture using Photoshop. The whole process took no more than ten minutes.

I do enjoy playing with RAW. However, as I only ever post my pictures on social media where their quality gets butchered by the site's own compression engine, I find it difficult to justify the time investment in RAW editing. So I stick to JPEG format in Pro mode with master AI disabled.

I tried many times to use RAW, but it works only at full res of 40mp an noise is incredibly hight, even with good light. Ho do yout set for those 2 example shot??

Yes, the RAW file will always be a full resolution picture (i. e. 40mp using the main camera, 20mp on the ultrawide and 8mp on the telephoto).
To avoid noise, you must shoot at the lowest possible ISO setting ! It also depends on the sensor used (as the main one is bigger, it produces less noisy pictures than the ultrawide / telephoto).
This example picture was shot in 1/500s at 50 ISO using the ultrawide camera.
This is probably going to be am unpopular opinion but does anyone else think that the Pixel 6 camera sucks? Pics straight out of device are a) over sharpened and b) flat. The canned filters are poor too. Enhance does nearly nothing, dynamic is a circuis like sharpening and contrast+saturation, and the rest are such ugly color casts which makes them useless. None of the filters have a "strength" slider to control the magnitude of the effect. Yet the sky filters that have the exact same names and function all have strength sliders. WTF Google?
I was hoping that Google has taken SnapSeed and incorporated it into the default camera in some dumbed down format so as not to confuse the general user. Wishful thinking. Not only that, I can't seem to find a way to tweak the default settings to my liking.
On an ongoing trip the images from my wife's 18 month old Fruit 12 max wiped the floor with the Pixel 6. This is from man Apple hater who will never own a fruit themed device.
To summarize my experience with the Pixel 6 so far; ****ty fingerprint reader, ****ty camera. Alas I dislike Samsung products almost as much as the fruity ones. If OnePlus had not decided to take heavy handed approach to Oxygen OS 12 I would be rocking a OnePlus 9 instead and be content.

This last week I have done a bunch of night sight pics in the same location I did last year with my pixel 2 and the pixel 6 absolutely looks better in every way. I'm sure the improved night sight is the updated hardware but google needs to work on their eye candy AI for the new sensors in other situations.
Try shooting raw and with night mode (even for daylight) then download adobe lightroom mobile (free version is enough), open the raw file in it, click the auto button and export the picture. Then compare to stock jpeg. You will be amazed. The hardware and image stacking on this phone are top notch. This is the first phone i have seen that has actually usable raw files. The stock jpeg on the other side is something i also don't like due to overprocessing.

Sent the Pixel 6 back and get a refund.
It is the simplest solution.
Not really, since real alternatives are scarce..
I really enjoy the camera. It's been taking phenomenal pictures for me. They will update the camera more as well and with Google's history I see it being very good.
I just got this phone yesterday, made Few photos and I am coming from a Galaxy note 20 ultra... I have to say I am impressed with the camera but for sure it does not live up to the hype on the internet. My Galaxy note 20 ultra makes as good if not better photos and to top all that I was comparing my photos last night with a friend's Huawei 40 pro ... And his photos were as good and in some cases better (some mine were better but less so) 5han the Google pixel 6... Just say both those phones are over a year old.

Did you ever try Photoshop Express fpr RAW processing?
Yes i tried but the engine is the same between lightroom and photoshop express hence results are same. PS has better retouch capabilities if you need these.

Thanks for saying this. So I didn't have to.
I find the camera pretty crappy if I'm honest. Detail in all of my pictures, including in well lit areas, are mediocre at best.
Night mode is absolutely useless too. If I compare it to my old Huawei Mate 20 Pro night mode pictures, there is no comparison.
Thinking of getting rid of the Pixel and getting something with an actual decent camera.
Pixel shots have a very specific look. It's not always realistic but it's beautiful. Live HDR and zero shutter lag are so nice.
If you're coming from a OnePlus phone, it can be a literal night and day difference in quality.
Is it possible that it is the selfie images that is breaking the camera?
What hype was there with this camera? Sure it has a new sensor that was talked about quite a bit, but everyone was saying that they picture quality was NOT different than the older Pixel models.
It is different but you need to try raw shooting to see the differences. Google's jpeg processing is far too aggressive regarding noise reduction so the small details are lost and stock jpegs look similar to older pixels. I will take some pictures these days to show the difference between stock jpeg and one converted from raw.

For me the raw file generated by the pixel 6 (especially with night mode) is very good. It has a lot of detail and low amount of noise. In this case i have not applied any post processing except the auto button in adobe lightroom mobile hence no noise reduction and sharpening at all. If you prefer sharper and cleaner picture this raw file can handle both without any problem. Comparing the two pictures main problems with google's stock jpeg looks to be following:
1. Too much sharpening
2. Too aggressive HDR bringing up some nasty noise from the shadows
3. Too aggressive noise reduction. IT is not only very aggressive removing some fine details but it is also applied in different levels in different zones causing patches which are more smeared than the rest of the picture. For me this looks very ugly.
As i doubt that google will give us and settings to adjust jpeg processing my advice to everybody looking to get the most from the camera is to shoot raw with night mode on even in daylight and process the raw file the way they like it. It is always good to also have the raw file as backup because software constantly improves and in future you may get even better results from the old raw files.
I don't like the main camera for close subjects, the depth of field drop off is too shallow for my liking and the focus area is small causing soft edges due to the large sensor.
People who take pictures of food a lot might have a love hate relationship.
It is also annoying to scan qr codes due to the soft edges.
And what about that main camera for video calling on duo or whatsapp? Is it crappy only for me or are you guys experiencing the same?

Then compare to stock jpeg. You will be amazed. The hardware and image stacking on this phone are top notch. This is the first phone i have seen that has actually usable raw files. The stock jpeg on the other side is something i also don't like due to overprocessing.

Actually, weird thing, my son was talking photos at the same time and has the same effect on a couple of his photos - he has an iPhone X - so maybe there was some kind of weird reflection going on

This phones are not like a mirrorless because they use AI, a good test could be as the user suggested before, turning off scene optimizer and take again the picture to see if the issue appear again.

As I say, my son has the same weird reflections on photos taken on his iPhone so it's not the Samsung scene optimiser.

Lol, Samsung seems to be emulating iPhone and vice versa. So don't think iPhone isn't aggressively mucking with the cam images too during processing.
This is some sort of digital processing induced anomaly rather than something like birefringence I think. Shoot in raw mode to see how deep the trouble goes.
Turn off HDR.
Or maybe it is an optical phenomenon...
also try varying the shutter speed.
Scamsung needs to smarten up quickly, HDR is something from the horror movies.
I was taking a picture of a document today (AFTER the supposed camera update) and HDR transformed the white paper into a grey dull mush...
Harsh sharpening at times, overexposed day pics...I was hoping for all that to change with the new software, but FFS, what DID they change? Focus priority? Super steady video?
How about PICTURE QUALITY???

There are no interference lines to cause that in this case.

Interestingly I had the same effect happen on an indoor photo after resizing a picture in Microsoft Photo.
Just use GCam and you'll have less headache. As any other OEM, stock camera is garbage.

I haven't had that specific type of result but I do get outputs that look more like paintings than photos. The 200mp results are great and usually with the details you would expect from such a large image, but I have been sorely disappointed with the outputs from all other modes (including the RAW supposedly-50mp stuff, where scene optimiser can't be used anyway) - any degree of telephoto use just gives way worse details than I would expect from a modern 10mp camera, with automatic processing (with optimisation off) just blurring swathes of pixels together to give a crude, painted look. Maybe I have been spoiled by my Canon R5's wonderful 45mp sensor!

I think they are genuine reflections of the grid-pattern building in that particular size of wavelets - quite interesting in fact. Was that in the 200mp setting?

Interesting. Not_Rich may be correct, those maybe be a moire effect caused by the building's reflection on the water. Test without the reflection of the building on the water...

Yeah, I took quite a few photos along the Riverwalk and they were the only two to exhibit this, same with my son's photos. Really weird, but strangely beautiful effect, almost like a mosaic.

There also a halo effect around objects when shooting in low light with HDR enabled. This going to be fixed in next months camera Update. So they are aware of HDR issues just didn't fix those in this months update.
