Well i have not seen a thread on this but coming from the EVO i do not see how to clear the notifications because when i turn the phone on it asks system update avil and i click cancel but it is up top in my notifications and unlike the evo there is no clear button.
So my easy question is how can i clear the notifications so i do not see the system update up there anymore.
Thanks in advance.

the "Clear" button appears when there are notifications able to be cleared. system update isn't one of them.
So until we get root we have to just leave it up there? anyway to reboot the phone and it not show up in notifications? just wondered if everyone else was leaving it up there since not many like me are going to do the ota.
Maybe if you turn it off under the update options and then restart.
Menu > Update > HTC SoftwareUpdate > uncheck scheduled check.
Thank you but i already unchecked that and rebooted before to see if that would work and it don't owell guess it will just sit there i just get picky knowing it is there and i don't want it to be lol.
if I recall correctly, you should be able to tap the update notification, the it will ask if you want to install or cancel
If anyone has done that click on it in the notifictions at the top of the phone where it says system update is avilable and clicked it and it still asked lmk
Cause it says tap to download the system update and that is the last thing i want to do right now thanks.
there is a notification to download the update, then there is also a notification/confirmation to actually install the update.
if you downloaded it and don't want want it, just run it and choose to decline/cancel when it asks to continue.
I have this same issue. I unchecked the system update schedule right away, but the stupid HTC watch thing found the update and now I can't clear the notification. The Green Hornet movie is a trap!
If you hit the "tap to download" notification, can you stop it and will the notification be cleared? Anyone done this? I don't want it to install but the icon on top will drive me nuts until we have root

After getting the software updates installed and the phone rebooted I noticed the left lock screen shortcut which I believe was "phone" is gone. I tried to add it back but am unable to. "phone" does not show up however it does on my evo.

From what I've read is that this happens after an OTA you have to do a factory reset and it is supposed to come back.
From the home screen if you hit:
Menu Button --> options --> system updates --> HTC Software Update --> Check now.
It should show some updates to install. One being an update to the HTC Lock Screen. Do the updates and reboot your phone.
That will correct this issue.

Hi I do not what happen I was messing with prl because I just activate in my country so suddenly In my lock screen (and after ota update of software) the phone reboot and I have not the dial or telephone icon, just a empty circle. I try change in settings but I can't find something like telephone in applications any help? Thanks a lot
Edit: Solution was apply again the updates

Sent from my loved Evo 3D ;D
You need to do the second update. You might have to open HTC watch for it to prompt you or go to system settings and do it manually.

Yeah, go into settings and software update. Choose the HTC one. If it doesn't come right up, keep trying. After the update you might need to reboot the phone as the update won't do it for you. After that you will be golden again!
Mine must be a freak?
I did all the updates (all 4 of them under settings) and battery-pulled many times.
The phone icon is STILL gone. It's freakin' terribly frustrating.
Hello,
If you want to do anyway with the Lockscreen altogether, you can get No Lock in the Android Market for free and it could not be easier to use. You can also easily turn back on the Lockscreen by pressing the Icon.
With No Lock engaged, you have to do is press the Volume Button or any other Button to get the unlocked Screens. The Screen goes out in the same time as whatever you set the time to be.
Cheers,
JJ
I could be wrong, but I think you are having the same issue that was covered in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1147524&highlight=missing+phone. They were able to resolve it with the steps provided. Best of luck!
Oh yea, Thanks a lot
the soultion was apply next 4 updates and i can choose again the cellphone thanks a lot
Hey all,
Just got my new OnePlusX and the first time I turned it on it prompted all the set up screens. I had to skip through them all because the keyboard would not stay open. It would open and then immediately minimize. Not a great start but no problem, I'll add my accounts and connect to wifi later.
Once I get into the 'home screen' I could see my status bar at the top but no icons and no way to access the app draw. I pressed the capacitive buttons and opened the notification slider which both worked and eventually got into the play store. From here I installed an app or two and got prompted to do a system update, which I did.
After the update I was hoping my launcher would work.. it didn't. The home screen is a black screen with the status bar at the top and no icons - the home button seems to do nothing when I'm in an app and press it.
I installed a third party launcher which worked - I now have a home screen and app draw. However, after opening an app, it crashes after a second or two (chompSMS does this as well as messenger, phone and contacts which are stock apps).
Does anyone have any information about this, what can I do here?
I know one option might be flashing a custom rom but being a brand new phone that should most definitely not be something I have to do to be able to call and message people..
Update: I ran a factory reset and all problems seemed to be resolved now. Not sure what was going on but I guess something happened that a reboot couldn't fix. I'll leave this post in case it helps others.
Have you done a factory reset after the system update??

Hi,
I would like to know how to force "State always ignored for hibernation". There are a couple of apps that are still popping up and refuse to hibernate and I still haven't been able to figure out how to force showing the message about ignoring one app state. I haven't been able to do it since earlier versions. Guess it is something very simple but I have tried many things and still have no clue

Long press the app which should be hibernated while showing up in 'Pending Hibernation' list. You will get the option either in the three dot menu or on pulling up the green bar at the bottom depending on the setup.

Thanks but I don't get those options. When Iong press I only get the zzz option next to a - option. If I select with normal press I get the three dots on top bar but I don't get that one. I just can press "Put into hibernation now".
I am in version 3.3 since I had problems with last versions but I think it's been like this since older versions. I am using Orion 2.7 ROM (Android 6)

Greenify v3.3 does not support this feature; you need to upgrade.

The thing is that sometimes the option pops up (I have several apps hibernated with it). I just don't know how to force it myself.
Which version has it? Version 3.5 was giving me problems.
EDIT: Ok. I am back to version 3.6. I hope things go better this time.
Thanks both for your help.

Sorry to reopen this post again. But in one device that has Android 4.2.2 I just can install Greenify V. 3.0 build 5 (donation package). And I don't have the three dots options so I don't know how to force the options about ignoring state or cut the wake-up path to pop up...
Found it. I had to disable "Deep hibernation" from the experimental features. Now I can see the cut-off option again
all of you on chinese variants of Find X, can now upgrade to new colorOS 5.2 simply by installing Beta App below , follow on screen steps and after that: go to normal upgrade method from Settins. You will have new OTA ready to download
Not applicable for Global and European variants CPH1871 / 75 .
LINK
After that you'll get a developer mode WITHOUT that annoying red banner in top notifications. You'll get notifications (lockscreen, notification shade), but NO Icons in Top. Fastboot unlock is still not possible. There is a higher Battery drain.
Btw: looks like, you CAN'T downgrade to official firmware yourself. So please TAKE CARE.

Smartthings\Hue\Yi Home\Google Home\ HotUKdeals\Whatsapp\Blue mail\WearOS apps no notifications
And I get no notifications from my phone to my android TV via the app Notifications For Android TV
Think I may sell this phone and move on.

"You'll get notifications (lockscreen, notification shade)"
Wish I got that
Is it correct that this information can not be returned to the official firmware?
After messing around for some time. I get notifications from most app when the screen is on.
But when the lock screen(blank black) starts, I get no notifications what so ever. Just sounds.
Anyway to fix this?
What's new in colorOS 5.2?
I get no notification issues and I use this china variant on color os5.1, for notifications ( FOR ALL apps, allow ALL PERMISSIONS, go to power management app and disable ALL power saving features for said apps as well as allowing all permissions from "power management" and this works for me even with screen off i get my notifications with the edge notification light
Most of my apps are now working as should(smartthings won't give notifications).
I went on to the beta and then I reset everything, and all has been great.

Yes it is. I've tried to make downgrade and doesn't work. The recovery says that the version that I've installed is newer than the latest official and abort the flash process. Fortunately the beta works pretty good but keep it in mind.
As supposed...latest ColorOS 5.2 arrived, and sadly nothing interesting
Does this allow for more "locked" apps or at least do away with the need for locking apps?

Nope. Still only five apps.

Rolled the dice and found out that:
- It does not remove the need for locking or increase the 5 app limit
- It also does not allow more than 5 apps to auto startup
Interesting development though: after doing the beta firmware update, I can no longer get into Phone Manager (and thus cannot easily get into auto startup apps)
After tapping on "Phone Manager", I get a screen overlay message that says "Permission Denied".
Can confirm that it does remove the dev orange bar. It will not remove the orange bar that is present from using Accessibility Settings.
EDIT: Updates as I poke around below
------
- After update: Shut down and Start up now retain my accessibility settings (previously even answering the phone would reset them). I use accessibility to add navigation options to the side of the device.
- I deleted com.coloros.safecenter, and now I have no "Auto Startup" options in individual app info. I'm unsure if this is just a new development in the beta or not though. I also still cannot get into the app Phone Manager (where auto startup is usually collected)
- I now also have some sort of flyout thing on the right side containing "Quick Access" apps. I never had this before. This is controlled from: Settings > Smart & Convenient > Smart Sidebar
- A new app inside of Accessibility permissions showed up called "Baidu IME for OPPO", but I'm pretty sure this was stock and I had just removed it right when I got the phone
- I'm also able to swipe notifications to the right to dismiss!

So you still have the continous weird flashing statusbar? (You use accesability, right?) Or is that gone after reboot?

Still have it unfortunately And yes, I'm using accessibility. Beta DOES get rid of the yellow bar if you only have Developer Mode enabled.
I've gone through one entire reinstall because I removed some pretty necessary stuff without pulling the APK's first. Now I'm an expert at backups of both individual APK's and the entire system through ADB hahaha.
I'm working on a guide to "westernize" or "un-colorOS"ing this phone and will be aggressively deleting apks to try and get rid of the yellow bar.
I did find that they have
Code:
com.android.systemui.PLUGINS
and that gets spawned from a ColorOS apk but I can't seem to remove the plugin. I have a hunch that's where it lives, since the orange bar groups everything under the "System UI" grouping.
Will keep you all updated!
EDIT: Oh! I was also able to create a +1 phone number account through oppo id services and use that to restore back to stock Beta after I screwed up the phone without backing anything up this first time. So I wouldn't be too scared of doing this upgrade. You can at least restore back to beta.
Had a little update.
Don't know what oppo added but great see updates coming
