Hooray. My HTC Evo 3D Screen Protector from XO Skins shipped! Just hope it arrives tomorrow so I can throw it on my new E3D

Sand or dirt on your finger, along with other substances can and have scratched Gorilla Glass.
$13.50? How is it different from a $2 screen protector?
These are polyurethane, they don't peel up and let dirty under them. They also have videos where they stop a drill and a dremmel and they have a lifetime warranty. I havent seen a cheap $2 plastic one do anything like that.

How do you like it? Is it more of a static cling type or the invisible shield type? I noticed it said it came with application spray, so am not sure. I don't like the invisible shield type as much anymore since they usually aren't as smooth as the screen itself.

i am also curious
Sorry it took so long to answer, have had an outage and needed to replace a tun of switches... xoskins is a glue skin, thats why you have to spray them. Once the spray dries they stick very hard and dont come up easy. The static ones fall off and get dirt jammed under them. these are about as smooth as the acrylic ones but they are the strong military grade kind.
I ran an XO Skins protector on my TP 2 for quite a while. Good thing is if you do have issues with the protector it has a lifetime warranty! Once installed I did not notice any reduction in screen touch response nor did it affect the viewing of the screen. I have ordered up a protector for the 3d and am interested to see how it affects the 3d display, hope it has no negative affects!
I've got a set of XO skins protectors here for my 3D and just waiting to put it on. I will say the customer service there is fantastic. I received my order quick, and then about 1week later I got another envelope in the mail from them with another protector. When I emailed them they said they had a mix up and some of the original orders for the 3D got sent their "case fit" protector instead of the regular one. So to fix the problem they just mailed out regular protectors to everyone that ordered one then in case they got the wrong one before. So now b/c of this i have 2 both same size b/c mine was right. lol
Now I had skinomi on my EVO4G and loved it. Interested to see how this compares, as the skinomi I had was great and touch input was flawless still and smooth too.
I have XO skins screen protector on my Gtablet and I have to say that I like it better than Zagg InvisibleShield. The Zagg's kind of have a rubbery feel that makes it a little more difficult to slide your finger when swiping or scrolling. With XO skins it feels almost as smooth as glass. I have ordered the Zagg for mine, but I think I will get an XO too since they both have lifetime replacement offers.

Hi all:
Does anyone have any suggestions for good screen protectors for the Tilt2 off of Ebay?
I know there are a number of name brand ones which are good, but I have an Ebay gift certificate, so I'd like to buy from there if possible. I can't seem to find any of the good name brand ones on ebay, so I was hoping someone may have tried one of the ones that are available on there.
Suggestions would really be appreciated.
Thanks!
PS: I am currently using the one that came with the phone, and I was happy with its quality, but it has gotten quite scratched up, quickly, so I need to replace it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-PACK-LCD-SCREEN-PROTECTOR-FOR-TMOBILE-HTC-TOUCH-PRO-2_W0QQitemZ280435833291QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item414b4739cb
Extremely easy to apply, barely any bubbles/air pockets to be seen. My screen looks like it doesn't even have one on.
Or you could try this link. I ordered mine, but I didn't received them yet so I don't have pictures to upload, but they look sharp
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-MIRROR-Screen...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL?hash=item19b63cfef6
I've always ordered screen protectors from Clarivue. The one I put on my Palm TX 4 years ago is still on it. They're durable.
As to ebay, the seller I've always used for clarivues is JHongs. They currently don't have protectors for the Tilt 2 listed, but the last time I asked them to list one they didn't have up, they happily did so.
Just message them, give them the link to the Tilt 2 clarivue (linked above), tell them you're ready to buy, you heard they would list it for you, and I'll betcha in 48 hrs your new screen protector will be on the way.
I bought ebay item #250541670275. It only cost $2.98, it shipped from California, and I had it within a week. They fit the tilt 2 VERY nicely, and I can't tell there's anything on the screen. Buy it!
Thanks so much to everyone who replied!
I will definitely be ordering one of the ones suggested in this thread.
Thanks again!!

I wouldn't call it bad, but in terms of durability it's lacking compared to clarivue or boxwave or some other name brands.
im To late
but your best bet would have been zagg. most of those cheap plasic one's only hold up for about 3 month or so. zagg hold up until u decide to take it off.
www.zaggs.com that the main site and there should be some on ebay also. i kno that you have a gift card.

Don't get this if you have a Tilt2. Just thought i'd give you a heads-up (it'sthe T-Mobile version).
If you still haven't purchased any scrren protector, you must have a look at this, although it's not on ebay it's very cheap and offers full body protection.

I have excellent experience ordering from Amazon and HIGHLY recommending this seller - Eforcity. (I've ordered 3 protectors for my CDMA and got 8 in the package - someone was pissed to my bennefit )

They say "scratch proof", but 3 of mine scratched.
Also, those "invisible shield" ones leave weird residue that does go away after a while, but it gets annoying.
After trying 3 types of screen protectors, I would HIGHLY suggest the regular scratch proof ones. They really work and the bubbles went away after a night of having it on.

Generally an anti-glare protector has a matte finish and generally the crystal clear ones are glossy. That's the distinction that matters in regards to fingerprints -- any glossy surface is going to be print-astic and hold on to finger oils with the jaws of life.
I have a clarivue anti-glare, and it is definitely more resistant to prints than the stock HTC protector was. But it's not magic, or even oleophobic, it's just an ordinary matte surface.
I also recommend a decent brand like boxwave or clarivue above some no-name protector if you want to be sure it's going to be durable. I used the same clarivue for 4 years on my palm TX and it was in a 100x better shape than the stock HTC protector was after a couple of weeks.
Anyone try the new Zagg Smudge Resistant Shield on the EVO 3d? Can't find many reviews on it, and it seems only sold at Best Buy. Zagg.com finally got the regular shield in, but I'm interested to know if the other shield is much better.
just an FYI, if you end up getting the regular zagg there 14.99 at radioshack instead of 20.99 at bestbuy
if they have the smudge resistant for the view/flyer ill get 1 to try out, that screen is a smudge magnet.
edit: saw a video of it on youtube and it seems to be more of a matte finish instead of glossy like the original zagg

I don't mind the Matte finish if it resists smudges etc, but from the reviews on BB.com for the Ipad version they are all 1 star saying it makes the screen cloudy.
Not to change yur subject but my brother picked up the whole shield for his Evo at Marshalls (of all places) for $5

Not to be devils advocate but this is Gorilla Glass, you are very unlikely to scratch it.

Phones are just like my women. The more beautiful they are. The more protection I wear.
I had put a smudge free protector on and it jacked with the 3d screens. Had to take it back off.
Is the shield at the ratshack a screen only deal or a full body coverage. If it's the latter I'm gonna have to swing on by!
Do not get the smudge resistant model for the Evo 3D
Avoid the Smudge Resistant Zagg product on this.
Purchased one at Best Buy and put it on last night. You will not be able to use 3D with it (if you ever want to view 3D that is... also the Matte finish looks like it is causing the screen to have noise all in it. Stay away from this one.
On a side note, I have really greasy fingers and the smudge resistant part works.
Thanks
Thanks, will order the regular one.

I had the same results. Screen looked like it had "static" and I also had slight stripping that were both very noticeable when trying to view 3d content. Gave it a day hoping it would settle but it wouldn't. Had to remove it.
I'm not a fan but want to try another company. I tried Zagg a couple of years ago and it felt like rubber and had orange peel, pulled it off after a day.
In the perfect world I would get one that looks clear, feels like glass and helps with finger prints.
What is your favorite and why?
Thanks
I've tried Zagg and a bunch of others on my Evo 4G. The best one I had was this cheap 99 cent screen protector I got off amazon. Had it on for months with no scratches, and it looked and felt just like glass.

July 18th full screen protection . Works great with defender otter . I could throw my last one on eBay
I have ghost armor screen protector on my 3vo and they are the best in my opinion. Every phone I owned I bought ghost armor for them and didn't worry about the screen at all. Lucky for me, there is a ghost armor kiosk here in grapevine Texas so I just go there an they apply it professionally. I suggest it if your in the area.

Decided to go with Phantom Skinz since it comes with a camera protector and I've read good reviews on their products
http://phantomskinz.com/htcevo3d.aspx
I first got an Invisible Shield for my TP2, but there was too much orange peel effect and it was too "sticky" so I changed to Phantom Skinz. Phantom Skinz was much better.
On my Evo 3D I have a Clarivue protector now and it seems like it's scratched on the bottom side... I think I might change to Phantom.

Boxwave Crystal Clear.
The problem is, Boxwave has been really dragging their feet in getting ANY accessories specific to the 3D. They just finally got a rubberized case for it, but that's it. No screen protectors yet.
I ordered the BodyGuardz HD screen protector. These have anti-glare. Got it last night and it has a 'halo' effect. That is where the edges of the protector are not stuck onto the screen. It is not raised where it can easily become unpeeled. I wrote to BodyGuardz and they are sending me replacements that should work properly, which they claim are die-cut. A different manufacturing process that should work better.
Big plus for their customer support! I will post an update when I get them.
Zagg by far!

I have always used Zagg until I tried XO Skins. I was going to buy a Zagg for my GTablet, but someone posted the XO Skin for it on sale, so I gave it a try. It is somewhat like the Zagg InvisibleShield, but has that glass like feel with no orange or yellowish tint over time. It is a wet application, but when it cures it looks like nothing is even there. They also have a lifetime warranty just like Zagg, so if anything ever happens, you get a free replacement.

I got my screen protectors on Monday and I have to say it is horrible. You don't get fingerprints on it but it looks like it is dirty all they time. IMHO they suck!
I had a Casemate brand protector on my EVO 4G and loved it. Now I have a Clarivue brand on my EVO 3D and love it just as much.
No tacky feeling, no orange peel look, and no adhesive/water required.
Anybody try OEM screen protector that Sprint sells?

Absolutely horrible, do not get. They scratch so, so easy....can't even use a credit card to smooth out the bubbles. Several people in the forum have said the same.

Do they sell any good aftermarket ones at Best Buy or something? I just got my phone today and I want to protect my screen immediately instead of waiting for shipping.
I usually use PPC Techs WriteShields but they don't have them yet.
I hate the Zagg ones, there a bad joke.
I don't care for ones that use liquid to put them on, I never had trouble putting ones on perfectly without liquid.
Is the EVO 3D have the exact screen size of some other phones already out.
I may just wait for PPCTechs but the ones that used to be included with Sprint Phones were very similar and quite good.
Does Sprint sell them for this phone?
Looks like Sprint does sell them. $14.99 2 Clear, 1 Anti-Glare plus $6.50 ship !!
I Found theexact part on EBay for $10.00, $2.00 to ship
I searched for ZCH5009V on Ebay.

i alsways use seidio for my screen protectors
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/spm1hev3d.htm
there not rubbery like zag
pretty easy to put on
no water needed
cheaper the most
and there slick once u start using them so ur finger doesn't stick when swiping sliding playing games etc
if in doubt buy the 2 pack its only like 15$ for two worse case u mess up first one and have an extra one left
also if ur really bad with em take it in to sprint or bestbuy with just the screen protector and ask em to put it on and they'll do it saying "its a gift for mom" or something im sure they wont care

I have used Steinheil for all of my phones. Ordered these and got them yesterday:
http://www.amazon.com/SGP-Screen-Pr...QNJQ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1310872807&sr=8-5
Installed it today, super easy. Very clear protector, you can't tell it is on. Adds a nice feel to the screen, and the oleophobic coating on the protector makes fingerprints and other gunk wipe off easily without need for a cleaning cloth or something of the like.

agreed!
unfortunately, Boxwave doesn't have one available for the 3d yet, so I went with Clarivue, which are just as nice...
it should be mentioned that the Boxwave/Clarivue screen protectors are hard plastic type, giving a very smooth screen feel
I've been using the "Cellett" brand from Fry's.
Whopping $4.99
You cannot tell it's there, perfectly clear, not sticky when dragging finger across, and (from previous phones) I know they last years if installed correctly.
Yea, the Zagg ones from worst buy or wherever blow.
FYI, I bought the Sprint ones.
They stink.
They scratch VERY easy even though they are the hard smooth clear plastic type.
And they do not cover the whole screen.
I just ordered me the photon today, I like to put screen protectors on my phones as soon as I can.
What are our options for high end screen protectors for the photon?
After some searching, the only one I found was skinomi. Currently $6.95 on amazon.
I ordered a 5 pack off eBay for $3 and change. It's shipping from Hong Kong
The 3 pack of screen protectors for the HTC EVO 3D sold in the Sprint retail stores for $14.99 plus applicable sales tax are a perfect fit for the Motorola Photon 4G. IMHO, the Otterbox Defender Series Case is your best protection for it.
Just bought a case on eBay that comes with a screen protector. We'll see how it works out.

I'm currently using the EVO 3D screen protector from the Sprint retail store. It is working well but getting a few scratches. The protectors are definately a bit more than I would like but I wasn't willing to risk scratches to the screen. With my prior EVO i used ghost armor... the sprint sales person said the EVO 3D screens are specifically designed to not interfere with the touch technology.... not sure if I buy it but I was still suckered into spending ...

they dont cover the bottom portion of the screen, sorry fail, scatches have a way to find places that are not covered.
Also the oil/dirt from your finger rubbing will eventually start to lift the edge of the film.

I actually received mine yesterday (2 days after I ordered it, I'm impressed).
But I have some fitment issues with the skin.
Not sure if it's a bad cut or if they're all like this but it seems it was cut just a hair too wide.
Three out of four corners line up really well, however one goes past the screen by about 1mm.
I've uploaded pictures but I'm not allowed to post outside links at the moment
I've contacted skinomi, waiting to see what they say.
Just got my Skinomi and applied it, everything seemed fine but an hour later i noticed i let some lint, very small string get stuck underneath, DOH! otherwise mine fit snug. regardless of the lint ill keep mine on for now until the BodyGaurdz Kiosk or Invisible Shield kiosk gets in the Photon and ill have them apply a new skin.
Damn after another hour i realized my skinomi fit perfectly, i had no problems with fit, no curling, everything is great except for that damn piece of lint in the middle of the screen, damnit. I guess i will try to block it out of my head that it exists.

Yes you do need one on the photon. I scratched my screen on the second day I had it. Thank god I convinced the sprint store to replace it because of a restarting problem. More I'm babying it until I get some protection.

From my experience, the area of screen I see most prone and most likely to end up with scratches on it sjjones is the LCD area which the HTC EVO 3D screen protectors completely cover. As I stated as well, the best defense and protection for the Motorola Photon 4G is the Otterbox Defender Series case. Yes, it is the most expensive carrying solution on the market, but it is also the most protective.

I hate that feeling like you want to block it out but you just want to rip it off and add a new one but at a price of 20$ for the Zagg I just wait till the next pay check and give a shot.

Try contacing zagg to see if they'll replace it. I know some of the brands of those kinds of screens have some kind of lifetime warranty.
Although generally they don't cover bad installation, it's still worth a shot.
Well other than the lint and occasional finger nail mark the Skinomi ended up pretty well, its almost exactly like the invisible shield but much cheaper. No bubbles, no peeling. The lint bothers me though; Instead of returning this one which costs you like 4-5 bucks (on their so called warranty). I decided to purchase the carbon fiber skin + screen protector combo they sell and just put a new screen protector on in a cleaner environment.

(it supposedly looks different than in the picture but i cant find anywhere on the web a picture of the real cut)
I have a 25% off coupon for skinomi, "skinomi25"
when i get this i'll try to take pictures this time, i keep forgetting to charge my dust-covered Nikon D80
Steinheil?
Anyone ever try Steinheil Ultra Crystal protectors? I can't find one yet for the Photon but heard they are the best available. Easily found for other phones on ebay.
