Hello All,
In the ROMS section of "Viewsonic GTablet For Dummies"
I see links to:
G-Harmony Gingerbread and Cyanogenmod 7.
Are these the same? If different , what are the significant differences between them?
I would like to try a version of Gingerbread where Netflix
will work. Which ROM should I use. I am on BL 1.1.
Additionally, if using Cyanogenmod, should I use the stable version
or the latest nightly build?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Paul

So nice, he had to say it twice?
Other reasons for choosing CM7 over G-Harmony include the greater frequency of updates due to it's larger development community and that you can get a version with the 1.2 kernel.
Decided to go with BL 1.2 due to most future ROMS will be developed to this BL. Went with CM 7.0.3; Netflix works great!!
Many Thanks!!

Is there's a possibility of making Flash 10.1 or Flash Lite work on GT540 on the stock ROM? I read a news item on xda-dev saying that Flash 10.1 will work on 2.1 although it's for 2.2. I installed Flash 10.1 on GT540 running 2.1 but the browser doesn't seem to recognize Flash content still. Am I missing some kind of enable/activation step? Did anyone else get Flash 10.1 work on GT540 2.1 stock?
FlashLite will work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=851179

Thanks but i'm looking for a less tinker approach. I don't want to go through clockwork hack.

Someone has made available an early experimental version of Flash that was compatible with ARMv6. It's very buggy but it still works for light games, audio and simple banner/buttons. Video is laggy and very buggy. Works with 2.3 ROMs. Didn't test in 2.1.

Hey yall I just upgraded to Wolfbreak's Gingerbread with A ROM by EMPREX
It is all gravy, but Cyanogen Mod settings would be great. Is CM in the works for being implemented in the gingerbread Roms? I have yet to find a thread offering this- other than the unstable ones.
Maybe someone could recommend a good ROM with cyanogenMod already installed?
check this out:

super fast rom & it's stable too, check the thread's last pages for wifi fix
+1
That exactly what I been looking for ! thanks
First of all, I have searched the forum and Googled the topic but came up with different results I could not be certain about, because simply I'm not an expert and can't even say that my Android knowledge could be moderate.
I'm looking for a stable release of CyanogenMod for my Galaxy Ace. I'm not looking for a test release of ICS, but a good and final/stable release of Gingerbread optimised for the Ace, preferably with a guide on how to instal it. My Ace is rooted.
Also, I have a question about language support in CyanogenMod, the languages currently supported by my phone at the moment, would remain the same?
Also, if there's a different custom ROM you'd recommend?
Thanks in advance!

Hi!
I have recently bought a second hand Vibrant.
Seller had MIUI on it, which I didn't like, for a few reasons.
One was non working GPS.
So, I installed latest stable CM 7 , which I like, BUT, GPS doesn't
work with it too. As I understood, that is common problem with 2.3.3
based ROM and Vibrant.
So I started looking for 2.2 based ROM and faced the problem, that
most links for these are currently dead.
I have succeeded to download Toxic Crazy8 and few versions of bionic,
but my recovery (version 5.0.x.x) refuses to flash them, as they are
in "old format" .
So, long story short, I am still looking for a ROM that will make me happy,
and thus need your help .
My requirements are :
Deodexed ROM, so I can apply the RTL fix on it ( or with built in RTL support).
Working GPS
Good battery life
Not too slow
As new as possible ( may be 2.3.x if all the above apply)
Should include FFC mod support
with working download link .
So, your help, suggestions and advices (and download links) are welcome!
Thank you in advance!
First and for most I suggest the ICS Passion V11 rom ....but if you want to go back to the extremely stable roms among us you will have to flash an older clockwork something that can be done in clockwork mod. Many people suggest Project V it was a great rom, but most would say that you can't go wrong with the bionix roms. Again though ICS Passion V11 (4.0.3 based) is definitely a modern winner though.

ICS PASSION.
Stable fast GPS works and its 4.0.3

If you want the newest, latest and greatest, the two posters above me nailed it. Passion is awesome and fairly stable.
But if you are wanting a 2.2 ROM, fisherman (I think that's his name) is updating Bionix and should have updated links.
ICS Passion
Thanks for all the replies!
Let's say that you've convinced me, and I am going to try the ICS Passion.
Few more questions regarding it though.
As I am totally not familiar with ICS, does it have RTL support?
I recall I have read somewhere it does , out of the box...
Does ICS Passion have support for FFC mod, or , specifically, will
I be able to have video chats on Skype or it's alternatives?
Thank you in advance!
Mulder check your PM box.
If you don't end up liking the ICS, there are these 2.2's that are solid builds and you can flash them with the CWR version in my signature.
Toxic8 (which you tried but with the linked recovery it should work-did for me)
Deranged9
Bionix
Bionix-Fishman redux
Trigger
Bi-winning
2.3's have battery and memory issues, so buyer beware.
Oh, and how good is ICS in terms of battery life?
I get 2 days out of her...
Sorry for not being as up-to-date as i probably should be.
What is the highest version of Andriod i can run on the Atrix 4G?
Can i run Andriod 4.X ?
Thanks
You can use 4.0 and 4.1 with some bugs..
But GB, CM7 with no issues.
I think there will be usable 4.2 version soon (without hardware acceleration and video recording). At the moment latest available for Atrix 4G is 4.1.2.
If you need everything working (including camcorder, HW acceleration and fingerprint sensor) then one of the GB ROMs is your best bet. Otherwise, CM9 and CM10 ROMs are available but without the above mentioned functions.
ok, so next question

Thanks for the info. I went to motorola's site and latest i saw was 2.x something. Where do i get 4.x if i do want to upgrade?
First of all you need to be upgraded to GB. Then unlock BL, install a recovery and simple download a Rom from develop section to your sdcard and install it as a normal Rom!

Officially, Motorola only released up to 2.3.6 for the Atrix. So if you want to get 4.x, the Android Dev forum is where you want to look.
