Great news guys! Look forward to testing it.
How do I edit the list?
Code:

So sorry for being so new to this and confused but i've downloaded Bodhi from the posts (That insist it's for Archos gen8) but i can NOT figure out how to actually install it. I've tried Updating my FW via Recovery, several times with sever different things and also I've tried flashing (but Bodhi is in the wrong format) nothing is seeming to work.
-Can someone either point me in the direction of a TUT(link) or just give me the run down here, I will be IMMENSELY grateful

You really need to read up on your device and how it works. Have installed the SDE or the openAOS boot menu? Google is your friend, instructions have been posted on multiple websites. If you have installed the SDE, and only want Bodhi and the stock Android, just download the bodhi image and replace the rootfs.img on your internal storage with the bodhi image. Then boot into Developer Edition by holding the volume key down and selecting Developer Edition.
If you want more than 2 OSes, install the openAOS boot menu. Here's an entire wiki just for our gen8s. http://dev.openaos.org/wiki/SettingUpMultiRootGen8

Thnx man, I've seen you help others with their problem and to be honest i was hoping that it'd be you who helped me as well.
I've heard good things about the OpenAOS but bad things for it on the Arcos 101. I'll give it a try though i suppose tho i only want bodhi and Archos OS
TY for all the help thus far to both of you.

If you have Urukdroid, then you have more than just Archos and Bodhi. Urukdroid uses the developer edition's OS slot, so you are actually trying to use three OSes. If you want to keep Uruk, you'll need the openAOS boot-menu, which is a better solution, in my opinion, than $auron's AlternativeOS menu.
I'm on a 101, so I had to do some stuff to make Uruk and Bodhi display correctly. All this stuff has been added to Lenn's tutorial. If you want to keep Uruk and have Bodhi, it's the best way. If you can deal with just having the stock Archos firmware and Bodhi, then you can just use reinstall the sde and overwrite the rootfs.img(sde must be reinstalled though, uruk has overwritten it).
kk thnx, so i just reinstall SDE?
and also the zImage file in http://download.openaos.org/bubu/gen8/ keeps DLing as a txt file. can u help me with that? :/

Just reinstall SDE and copy the rootfs.img if you don't need Urukdroid. If you want multiboot, use Bubu's initramfs and zimage. Just rename the zimage.txt to zimage, it will still work.

Did you tried it according to my How to ?
download link of Bodhi for Archos 101it
Hi, this is an old post, but I would like to post the link where I downloaded Bodhi for my Archos 101it. I have been using it for more than a year and it's awesome. It's just a pity the project has been abandoned. I hope some illuminated genius could retake it and configure the system for sound, videos and camera, which aren't working.
The link is:
mirror.transact.net.au/pub/sourceforge/b/project/bo/bodhilinux/ARM/ALPHA/
New link
The above link seems to be dead. I have uploaded the file here:
dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/38867415/bodhi-linux-archos-g8.zip
Just write https:// before that.

Someone should really make a new index of roms and iso's for the g8, anyway if u want help on setting up sound you can ask me, cause I used this for a while and I know how to start the sound, but it will have a "glitch" when no sound is playing (as in the tab will make odd sounds randomly). If you fixed that already then sorry, I read ur last comment before this one and even if it was in may I was thinking I may help.
I would greatly appreciate if you can help me configure sound with Bodhi linux, so I don't have to change to stock android firmware to play videos or music. I don't mind the glitch, though.
Did you install any codecs? I have been playing with the settings of the recognised Wolfson audio card, but without any luck.

So as I can understand u know how to access alsamixer in terminal, I don't remember what the settings I left on were, but I know I enabled everything and set all volumes to maximum and then I started playing music and disabled the settings one by one till I was left with only the needed settings enabled, hope it helps, if u want I can reinstall bodhi and do the settings on Monday and post them here.
Sound problem solved
Thank you, as you suggested, I set all volumes to the maximum in alsamixer. Then I selected the alsa Wolfson driver under the audio preferences in smplayer2, and the both the music and videos are playing well now! The only problem I find is with the video drivers, with the videos not playing smoothly, but they're ok.

There is nothing to do about that, I was trying to build lubuntu as described at the openaos site (cause that seems to be 100% functional....or at least as much as it can be) but ended up being unable so I am now using debian with lxde (works way better), but it took a bit to setup the screen to auto turn off and I didn't manage to set long press as right click.
EDIT: Also I didn't manage to get e17 to work on it so I am kinda stuck with lxde, too bad, really loved e17 on bodhi.
First of all I am taking no credit for any of this. All I did was combine other people's work and edit scripts to make this tool that I believe works best on my phone. Plus HULU WORKS!!!
Dev's who's material was used:
panamaniac - Perma-Temp Root + HULU FIX
eugene373 - (TOOL) Perma-Temp Root with *R/W* & Stable!
Almighty1 - [Fix] Hulu working + Flash.apk April 22
coolbho3000 - [MOD] EVO 3D Overclocked to 1.8GHz!
agrabren - [GUIDE] Fre3vo / Fre3dom Official Thread
What I Did: I just combined (TOOL) Perma-Temp Root with *R/W* & Stable! with Perma-Temp Root + HULU FIX and [MOD] EVO 3D Overclocked to 1.8GHz!.
What it does: Basically what the title says. It will temporarily root you device, overclock it to 1.8Ghz and swap out the current flash player for one that will allow you to use Hulu on your device.
AFTER DOWNLOADING, FOLLOW THE BASIC INSTRUCTIONS
BASIC INSTRUCTIONS
1. Plug your phone into your PC and select Charge only
2. Make sure HTC Sync is not running
3. Enable USB debugging by going to Menu>Settings>Applications>Development and checking USB Debugging
4. Unzip the folder titled "Unzip This.zip"
5. Open the file titled "Perm-Temp Root with RW + Overclock + Hulu Fix"
6. Run (Double click) the .bat file of your choice.
NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE ROOT FIRST BEFORE YOU RUN HULU FIX OR OVERCLOCK
I am not personally responsible for any damage that may occur to you or your phone. Hopefully you are responsible enough to try and not break things and if you do not to cry all about it. That being said, If you are having problems with anything please describe in detail what you did and I will do my best to try and help.
DOWNLOAD
If you have NOT taken the OTA Update:

Hulu app
I thought I would share this link with everyone. I downloaded the hulu app and it looks good. The only thing is that auto rotate was disabled and I couldn't figure out how to go full screen.

HULU PLUS+ is soon to come. You can download the app and try it out it looks pretty clean. It won't allow you to watch content because our devices are currently not supported but it looks pretty koo.

That would be great. Thank you. When you unzip the folder it should look like the file that I've attached here.
I might be a noob, but I don't understand how anyone is able to change setcpu when it tries to OC the phone before SU permissions. Unless the winrar I have is corrupt and it's skipping it,
havent tried it yet (charging phone) plus im currently reformatting my 4G with MikG for the wifey and redoing my 3D after i get it charged up.
however.
i noticed you have only one overclock (do you need befor and after OTA?)
and only one script to root (no root and reroot. which doesnt really matter because if the file is already there it will skip it in theory)

personally what i do (maybe overkill) is keep the .apk for setcpu on sd card and when i know i am going to do a full reboot (not fast reboot) i uninstall setcpu, reboot, reroot, then install setcpu and do my profiles.
again this may be overkill but..... it works for me EVERY TIME ! (and i was using panam script till now)

First of all thank you for testing this out. I discovered why it wasn't working and have updated the Original Post accordingly. You were correct regarding the .dll files being in the wrong place but just moved the other files to the wrong location. Why it wasn't working on yours or others Windows machines had to do with the environmental variables. On my PC I have adb configured in my PATH. This was allowing adb to run with the .dll files in my android-sdk-windows folder. If you don't have adb in your PATH than it never would have worked the way that it was set up. I believe I have corrected this and it should be working 100%. Please give it another try and let me know if there's any problems.
Great thank you! This should work for everybody now. I've updated the OP.
Can someone please confirm as working?
This is a compilation, some of my own thoughts combined with ideas from others scattered throughout this forum... I really can't credit anyone other than who has already been credited above because it's just standard ideas.
Please feel free to add legitimate tips and tweaks to this thread so everyone can have a better TP experience! If it's noteworthy and people say it's helpful, I will add it to this OP!
1. Download the proper GAPPS and GAPPS fix to get Calendar working (thanks Stroid01, I borrowed your links from the original install thread)
2. Download the Charging and SystemUI fix from Dalingrin
3. Download Chainfire3D and install the Beta EGL drivers. Why? They fixed a lot of visual glitches that came with the stock ones.
4. Download and install the latest Adobe Flash 11.1 from the Market to enable Flash video, otherwise it won't work right out of the gate.
5. Enable USB transfer: Settings -> Storage -> Advanced (the 3 little dots in the top right corner) -> USB computer connection, then check the box next to "Media Device (MTP)"
6. It was in my best interest to change the DPI of the LCD, it'll look much better and the icons won't be so huge, my favorite has been 132 (though others have reported 145 to be good as well): Edit the build.prop in Root Explorer (mount R/W first) and change the line "ro.sf.lcd_density = 160" to "ro.sf.lcd_density = 132"
7. Install the cracked Market to fix any issues with your new DPI settings (Thanks, marios96)
8. To run Gamelot games edit your build.prop (it's located in your /system directory) to say this (I changed mine to XOOM instead of DROIDX but the idea is the same, thanks ssconceptziew):
ro.product.model=DROIDX
manufacturer=motorola
I guess this could be moved to the Development forum, I just thought this would be appropriate here since it's not actually involving developing something, just tweaks.
thanks, guess i will try the chainfire thing

When I try to install an app in the market, it gets stuck at the downloading stage. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried doing a fresh wipe and install of CM9 but nothing has worked! Also, I'm having problems downloading the UI fix. The countdown keeps on repeating.
Thanks. Looks much better now.
On WinXP I could not get MTP to work until I disabled debugging. Once I did that it showed up on my computer as a media device.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/15568-rel-market-fix-dpi-compatibility/
Also install the cracked market from above to fix any compability issues with the new DPI.

Yeah, there's no voltage control in SetCPU even though he states it in his change logs. It does work in System Tuner though.
Tried, and you're right. The different kernel is a bit more unstable at this point in time, however. I am using it, but it's not for those that don't mind more frequent reboots (what's funny is that this is also my primary work device.... lol).

How do you calibrate the touchscreen in ics?
the calibration.ini trick does not seem to work

Do the calibration through CWM. Run the "echo ..." command here after an "adb shell".
no such directory as /sys/devices/platform/tegra_touch on ics

I know. Which is why I suggested doing it using CWM. See post #2, above, again.
I *did* read that - but I have only the faintest conception
of what an adb shell is. I don't particularly want to go to
the trouble of installing the sdk for which I have no need.
That's why I *hoped* the simpler way in the original post
might work.

FYI: I don't think you need to install the entire SDK just to run ADB. The adb executable (and, its libraries) alone should suffice--it does on Linux.

There is a simpler method now. Go through that post again. I've got a zip file there which you can flash using CWM.

that's great. There's a warning about which kernels work but
I assume that the kernel in ics is OK, right?
Edit: sorry, you meant the CWM kernel so that's OK
Edit2: and it works fine - many thanks

coby 1125 ics touch screen calibrate
Could any of you please help. I upgraded the coby from gb to ics using the various techniques listed. I was eventually successful, however, I can't really use it because the touchscreen seems to be backwards, and mirrored. If I'm not mistaken, it seems calibrated for the 8127, where mine is 1127 10" widescreen. the "about" displays it as Model# mid8127, o.s. ver 4.0.3. I can't use any aps to correct since no file manager is present, and it is next to impossible to type through get jar. I couldn't follow the directions on this thread keenly, so please explain step by step. Though I got ics to work, somehow, I'm a rookie, and don't understand tech stuff that much. I have access to ubuntu 12.04, and windows, so I can connect the tablet, which I have done, but I don't understand how to use abd, nor cwmmanger. I tried, but got confused, though I was on windows 7. Please give me the steps in plain terms how I may use ts_calibrate, or any other method to c orrect the touch issue. If there were a way to access the start menu or file responsible and edit that. Such was the case on another tablet of mine the wm mid8650, where a similair issue occured installing uberoid. I had to edit for the 8" screen vs the primary 7"
Thanks!

You should talk to the guys who created the ICS for your tablet. They're the ones who'll be able to help you.

The steps in this thread are specific to a) the Tegra 2 Harmony-based tablets manufactured by Malata (eg. the ViewSonic gTablet) and b) to the stock or stock-derived kernels for those tablets.

I see, missed that. Thanks anyway, but the version is initially from coby germany i presume, but I may have picked mine up from a thread link, and since I've visited many souces, I'm not sure. I could contact coby germany, but not sure how forthcoming they would be. Thanks anyway! I think this needs to be done on sd card some how.
Thank you, rajeevvp!!!! Flashing the zip file through CWM has definitely made touch sensitivity miles better. Working great now!!!
Hello guys!
I'm starting this thread as I managed to install win10 on my X90L (Android) YogaBook
It was not easy to find a way to fix the ACPI error but it is possible!
Will update this post in a few hours with a guide on how to do it yourself.
UPDATE: link to the guide -> poz1.com/windows-on-android-lenovo-yogabook/
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU CONTINUE YOU WILL END UP WITH A YOGABOOK WITHOUT INPUT DEVICES!!!
(EXTERNAL KEYBOARD WILL BE NEEDED) AND NO ANDROID INSTALL!!!
So far i got almost everything working except:
- Touchscreen
- Keyboard
- Webcam in the keyboard panel (the other one works fine)
- NFC
- Backlight Control (added 25/5/2018)
I'm getting very near to have the touch and the keyboard working though
P.s. In attach you find the outputs from 3DMark - IceStorm Extreme (default settings), would be much appreciated if someone with the real Win version shared its score
Any chance of posting you work to date. Got an X90F just crying out for Windows.

I have added the link to the guide! If yo have any issues let me know but keep in mind that currently no input devices (touchscreen or keyboard) work!
Thanks for posting this. I am really so impressed. Will be trashing my X90F tomorrow. Just got to dig out a powered USB hub. Ill report back, and lets see what happens.
(Hopefully not a brick)
OK,
So far so good. I get to the amending of the of aml. But keep getting.
Intel ACPI Component Architecture
ASL+ Optimizing Compiler/Disassembler version 20180508
Copyright (c) 2000 - 2018 Intel Corporation
iASL: Segmentation Fault
iASL: Terminating
To clarify the process. Decompile the DSTDroid.aml, then insert the OperationRegion (GNVS, SystemMemory, 0x7B3CF000, 0x0369)
Field (GNVS, AnyAcc, Lock, Preserve)
{ etc.. } section from the DSTDroid.dsl and use it to replace the equivalent section in the DSTWin.dsl in your files.
Then compile the DSTWin.dsl with the
iasli -ta DSDTWin.dsl
command.
This is how I am reading it, but have not managed to get it to work yet.
It decompiles with the two errors you mention, but wont recompile no matter how I try it.
I am using Notepadd++ so its not hidden characters.
Any thoughts, and thanks again for your efforts on this.

Hello Broomfundel,
I never got that error, but it seems to be a problem of the ASL Compiler build not of your file.
I am using Mac so I have another build, if you want to post the file I can compile it for you .
Otherwise you can try an older release or to build the tool from source maybe?

Hi, i have the Lenovo Yoga Book Windows version, im crying to install Stock Android on it, can you PLZ write a guide about doing it, or at least if there is a way to install the kernelflinger.efi or the fastboot mode on YB windows it will be great.
to fix the whole bugs you faced, try to reinstall windows 10 using this methode https://forum.xda-developers.com/yoga-book/how-to/windows-guide-creating-windows-10-t3718823
Thanks

Hi,
KernelFlinger is opensource and come with an installer, it should be pretty simple to install it.
Right now I don't have my YogaBook as I am travelling but I can try in the next few days
OK, Older release worked, but I get a .hex file, your instructions talk about a new aml file. Do I use the .hex file or is there another option other than the -ta one that would create the aml.
BTW. I am enjoying this. So thanks again.

With the -ta option I get both the .hex and the .aml file but you can try -tc if it doesn't work. Maybe due to the different build
P.s. (for other people that may incur in this) If you don't get the output files check that you have as last line of the terminal
"Compilation complete. 0 Errors"
OK, I am getting 7 errors. My current theory is that the DSTDWin.dsl will only compile with the same version number of the compiler it was decompiled with. I have attached my DSDTDroid.dsl so you can have a go. At least it will prove I got things right up to that point. Might be worth posting the original DSTDWin.aml for me to try this end.
If we are lucky it might turn out that the patched DSTDWin.aml files are consistent across the same model devices.
So... It seems both pen mode and keyboard mode of holo keyboard won't work... Am I right?
It's sad that if they won't work even we install the drivers from the lenovo website

Have you tried with the ISO from this forum with the Windows injected drivers? Here https://forum.xda-developers.com/yoga-book/how-to/windows-guide-creating-windows-10-t3718823
As Poz1 is obviously busy at the moment. Can anyone else get the DSTDWin.aml file for me to try and decode?
Thanks
Sorry guys I've been busy with university

There you go I'm also updating the files DSTDWin of my blog with one with some fixes Well they depend on the settings you use in your Bios (that's why Windows may not boot after install, it changes some parameters (the wait time of the bios and the default boot partition)). When you use the builtin one is the bios that "updates" it for you but for now we need to do it by hand If we are going to end with everything working we can release a patched "Win" bios and everything will be simpler

I know There something in the DSDT (the file that tells the os which and where your pc components are) that has to be fixed to make Windows see these parts correctly

Don't worry, we all have real lives as well. I'm in the UK and we have a bank holiday on Monday. So this weekend, Ill get stuck in again.
Thanks for all your doing on this. You have already got further than anyone else who tried.
let me know if you have more problems
I have added a 3DMark test in the first post for those that are interested in how it performs

Just another Question, you as a Advance user, do you believe that we (yoga book Windows owners) can boot Android yb STOCK ROM ( i mean not the Android x86 based distros)?
Yes, but I think you would have to do the "reverse" DSDT injection (from win to android) as the official ROM has drivers for that components.
This means that, if you're lucky you would end up with our same problems (keyboard, pen and touch). If we don't fix that before
The problem with Android is that it is meant to be flashed on rom instead of being installed and this makes things more difficult.
It should be possible to flash the rom on an USB key, add grub and use it for DSDT injection like we do and see what happens.
Another problem is that the provided kernelflinger seems to have most of the security options enabled so 99% it will refuse to boot anyway.
Since it is opensource it should be possible to fix this anyway.
So yes, but it a loooong journey
