A co-worker just brought me his Virgin Mobil LG Optimus V phone, which he recently rooted, and showed me that it is only booting into Clockwork Recovery. He has a nandroid backup of the original ROM but after it's restored the phone keeps booting into recovery. I have a rooted EVO and have never seen or heard of this problem before, so I am reaching out here to the local community to see if anyone has some advice on how to fix this thing. If I can't get it working he's going to buy a new phone this weekend and never root again . I can't allow that to happen, so please help...
I found the answer to the issue in the development section...

So im going to sprint tomorrow cause i need a phone, but they will just tell me i voided the warranty.. can someone please help me!!
go into recovery, go through all the wipe options, flash the rom you want. then it will boot.
Heres what happened... A good friend of mine did a factory reset soon after I rooted her phone because sms stoped working. now it wont boot to anything other then Download mode and only after many trys to even get it to do that. I have flashed and mods lots of phones before but I cant get anything to work with this phone. the one program I found and thought might work has a dead link and no where on the net can I found it. if anyone has any ideas please help or even the ROMTools v2.3.1 (ex-recoveryflasher) I could try all that I have collected.. Thanks
Thanks

Its not serious just follow this guide and you should be good.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090687 In hindsight, you should tell everyone when you root their phone "Don't factory reset!"
Hello ! I'm new here and apparently I can't find the right section for my thread, I hope this is the right one, if not I'm very sorry.
I have a Jiayu G3 that won't boot in Android and apparently not in CWM either. I kinda did a lot of "upgrades" so please bare with me , here it goes (I just wanted to upgrade it to Jelly Bean).
I originally had 4.0.3 (stock/unrooted) then I rooted it using Binr4y's root method. Then I "installed Jelly Bean" from this video and then it started a boot loop then went on and on so I tried another rom and found this one RAW MOD B3, this one didn't worked either still looped on and on, so I tried finding a fix and came up with this Lewa Recovery 2.0 for JIAYU G3 so I flashed Lewa Recovery image with CWM and now to my surprise I can't even boot to CWM anymore.
I also installed before the Lewa Recovery Flash, White Google Logo.
So now my situation is kinda like this:
- I should have RAW MOD B3.
- I can't boot into Android it loops on and on at the logo.
- I can't boot into CWM either it also loops on and on.
- I don't really know how to boot into TWRP or Lewa.
Any help small as it is, is very much appreciated. Thank you for taking your time and reading about my problem and once again sorry if I have posted in the wrong section.
Solved
I fixed my phone, I went to some people who repair android phones it cost me 20$ (not much), they said that the USB method wasn't working so they tried with a device called BOX from Samsung who apparently rewrites the rom. It works as in the first day, also I don't see any screws being used to I think they didn't need to acces the mainboard, but I could be wrong.
Hello
So my friend asked me if i could help him with his Android phone (HTC Desire Z) bicuse he could not call or use the internet on it.
so i said sure ok, then when i had a look on it i saw that it were rooted and had a Costum Rom installed, so i told him i could fix the phone for him then when i got hom i reseted the phone but it didnt work, sill the same problem, so then i held down, down+menu+power to open the cwm boot loader and installed a costum Rom called ViperZ_2.0 it instaled good but when i rebooted the phone it got suck in a bootloop, it starts then i see the cwm boot loader menu :,(
So how do i restore the original rom/fix the phone from the boot loop?
i need to fix the Phone by tomorrow bicuse my friend NEEDS it, he will get extreamly angry at me if i told him that i have broken his phone :crying:
You guys are my only hope, thanks XDA
feel free to ask me anything
Did you forget to do a wipe? That usually happens when you don't do a wipe.
Hello I'm a user of a Sky Vega Iron (IM-A870)
And I need desperate help.
It's not an ordinary boot loop I wish it was, here's the story.
I rooted my phone just to let you know.
So I installed the wrong version of cwd recovery on my phone and so when I go into recovery mode the screen will turn like this.
imgurDOTcom/iOFieHG (sorry I can't you links yet cause I'm new)
But it wasn't a big deal I just didn't use it.
Now is the deal I decided to update my phone to stock kitkat that the vega devs supported themselves with vega station(the stock updating app)
And when it started installing it suddenly went into cwm.
I wasn't that worried at the moment just tried pulling the battery out and rebooting but...it started a boot loop.
I can't navigate cwm because of the way it is and I'm stuck. Is there another way to factory reset? or to get out of the loop?
Maybe a way to get rid of cwm and get back to stock recovery mode? Please help I need help until tomorrow! (personal reasons)
I searched online hours for solutions yet I can't find one.
Please help. I'm begging anyone out there.
Thank You
