hi there!
i can get a discout on EVO 3d GSM,
you recommend the device?
i love 3d (used it on my friend's 3ds). how can i check im not buying the version with to large lenses and not the one with one of them smaller? (does it matters?)
thanks!
Of course I would recommend evo 3d gsm. I upgraded from dhd to evo 3d. Plus for me so far is the improvement in battery life. In addition the dual core , 3d (love to take 3d pics myself) , 1gig ram etc.... .
thanks
i hope the discout will be good. if not, i will wait to a phone with 720P screen (and maybe 3D )....
I have the Evo 4G.
I'm wondering if I should sell it and get the Evo 3D.
What are the pro's and con's of the Evo 3D?
Is it worth upgrading?
How so?
Thanks!
Yes. Do it.
Not mentioning anything prior, I went from an evo 4g to nexus s 4g(which is negligibly faster and much more efficient), to an evo 3d.
Im happy. the evo 3d is very fast, everything I RUN is buttery smooth. I say run because the launcher is a bit choppy but when running an app or game that has the foreground, its fantastic. I force the launcher into memory via build.prop(if it actually does anything) and increase the dalvik vm heap size to 48m
Breaks my heart :c

Ya jump onto the EVO 3d. Smooth like everyone says.
Smooth is very relative. But, when we get ICS with Sense 3.5, it'll be as smooth as ****! And it'll lasts longer. Q2 is the time frame I believe.

So...then, you don't have a SGSII ? hmmmm.
I cant say much about the 4G, only because i choose the 3D over the 4G. I did it mainly because i have friends with each, and a couple that had both. They all recommended the Evo 3D, and i liked the specs of it. (i Had a Desire)
As I "play" with it I am very much impressed with it. Today I accidentally found out that i can stream all the music from my laptop to it, loving that options. I love the virtual voicemail thing. The 3D camera/corder, well i like it, I dont have a 3D TV nor to i intend to get on any time soon, but I am enjoying it on the phone. I did some software update yesterday, and since then my battery life is a HUGE improvement. I could charge it all night and by 1230-1pm i was yellow, so far today after update, i have yet to charge it and ive been playing-- I mean exploring all the other things im reading about with.
Personally the Evo 3D is an AWESOME phone and i wouldnt trade it.

Ok, I've owned both devices...I love the 4g (dimensions & kickstand) and the radio (3g/voice) is better than the 3d, but the resolution, dual core, and internal space is all alot better with the 3d. It got to a point, right before I got the 3d, that the 4g just started to feel laggy, got the 3d and it's worth the upgrade.

The main flaw of the evo 3d is the network its on.
That shouldn't be a problem
Let's just say, instead of Sprint, the phone will be on Verizon prepaid.
Hello. I was sold my S2 yesterday and bought EVO 3D.
I've had HTC Legend and HTC Desire and both had bad cameras, just like EVO!
Pictures in 3D isn't so bad when you looking on phone, but I don't have 3D monitor or 3D TV. Pictures in 2D (5MP) are desperately. Colours very bad, brightness low.. I've tried playing with setting but no big difference..
Maybe someone tryed with another camera app?
Any solution for better camera app?
I have GSM EVO, stock 2.3.4
I thought the pics were pretty good. Changing the camera app won't really change anything.

I had Galaxy S2 and I thought the pictures on S2 are bad, but now I'm looking and it looks like is shooted with digital camera!
EVO for me have very bad pictures, today on sunny day I shooted a few photos in nature and I can't belive how photos are "deadly"!
Is that when playing back on the phone or the pc?

Both, on phone pictures is bad, but on bigger screen on computer is worse.
Root the bad boy and flash amaze camera.

Raw power isn't everything. Samsung have the worst UI ever, the ICS LPQ official release is buggy, and the only other alternative is AOSP which is boring after a while. Sense is far superior in every way. I swapped my GS2 i9100 for an HTC EVO 3D (plus he gave me £50) and I love it, so much better to use than that horrendous Touchwiz infested s2.

I have the cdma version n the camera works great before and after i rooted my phone wife gs2 camera also works great and she havent rooted it yet. You might have something wrong with your phone cuz the 3d camera's been better thn the 4g for me
The 3d used to have an awful camera due to the incorrect white balance (green pics). They eventually fixed that.
Now those that say no difference between stock and amaze camera... Compare on a larger screen or print. The stock camera is much more compressed and won't look as sharp.
And for the record, I have taken awesome pics which this phone...

sell Evo (i love my Evo ) and buy some sony who has the best cameras in bussines
Tomorrow I'm getting my Evo 3D GSM - which is an upgrade from my HTC HD2.
What should I see to be different (besides the obvious 3D). Will I get better battery life? My HD2 is currently getting around 4-5 hours of life, idle, and using 2-5ma an hour.
What roms do you recommend? Does ICS support 3D (besides camera)? Are there any roms like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1482664 that have 3D support? And does LeeDroid have 3D support? I don't want 3D for all the time, but just to show friends.
Are there any good tweaks that are out there for the Evo 3D? Any recommended accessories?
Thanks,
Snowled.
Battery is fine if you aren't a super heavy user. No ICS roms have a functioning camera at the moment, and AOSP roms do not support 3D in any way.
Leedroid fully supports all functions as it is based on official HTC firmware, and is imo the best gingerbread rom on the device.
If you want to squeeze the most out of your battery I would recommend using Anryl 10.07 kernel and setting a low conservative clock speed for screen off, and an interactive clock speed for screen on via SetCPU.

I got mine for one month and i love it. I am from a Nexus One wich was heavily customize, flashed, bricked, unbricked, bootlooped, unbootlooped, etc etc...
Yesterday i unlocked it from HTC, flash the amazing 4ext touch recovery, but as my hboot is 00018 i'm still S ON but i am currently on leedroids rom and its great !

Well the ICS Sense versions are actually 3.6 and 4.0 . But to answer your question no, they do not support 3D at all as they are mainly based on the Sensation (3.6) and One S (4.0) official firmwares, neither of which have any 3D libs or support whatsoever. Until an official EVO 3D ICS firmware comes out, there will be no perfectly working (eg. missing 3D, camera, bluetooth, USB mounting etc.) ROM for ICS.
Definitely invest in an extended battery. I got me a 3500 mah and love not being too dependant on an outlet throughout the day.
Well because off the 3D it takes longer until we get full function ports that also have the 3D.
An spare battery could come in handy. I think its a very good phone, only HTC One S and HTC One X are in mine eyes better then HTC Evo 3D and both don't have the 3D.

Sounds like you need to get a new battery for the phone, if it's sitting idle and only getting 4 to 5 hours.
My recommendation... Don't buy it... It's a year old, and you'll wish you held out just a couple more months for a "One Series" phone.

U must be DUMB
First, the Evo is in no way one year old ... First time available at the end of juny in USA only !! More than two months to go only for Sprint Version ...
Second, why to hold out for One Series ? Costs more than 300€ up than Evo and what can it do better than Evo ? Right, nothing ... No microSD, no changeable battery, too big, expensive, ...
Great - you get a bit more sharpness and quad core thats not even lagfree ?! 599€ lol

Hardly, it has a natural 1.51ghz dual core aka the same as the One S and USA version of the One X, and 1gb ram which is 256mb MORE than the One S and the same as the One X. Not to mention it doesn't have that disgusting pentile style display and has fully removable external storage and battery. The One X's only saving grace is its screen resolution. Sense 4.0 is a non issue as it will undoubtedly be ported with full functions when the official RUU of EVO 3D ICS is released.
The EVO 3D is still a very strong phone and at the current prices it would be madness not to get one.
Oh and it has 3D .

If the price difference between the HTC Evo 3D and HTC One X wasnt so big I would also recommend that.
But its really worth buying it, I bought it for € 289 and now its in MediaMarkt germany again € 269, so price dropped € 20.
Anyway that is less then € 300 for an really good Android phone, its even better then the HTC Sensation XE which is overhyped because off beats audio.
In mine country you will pay about € 320 for it orso, its still cheap, an HTC One S, which is better then Evo 3D would cost € 479, but has some cons.
Honestly? It's not a bad phone. I had an LG Optimus 2X until a few days ago (I was running them side by side for a month-ish), and the optimus had pretty much everything better (IMO!), except half the memory and smaller resolution screen. I would say the reception is slightly better on the EVO 3D. I would say technically the O2X was the better phone, although I do think it would REALLY benefit from having more memory.
I don't really care about the 3D at all, but the number of accessories and just I preferred using the EVO 3D made me sell the O2X. I don't actually like sense however, although it's easy to use.
Also.. 'friend steam' kills your battery, I wouldn't use it lol.
Bottomline, the Evo is still a good purchase for the price (as long as it's not still high). If the newer phones are anything like the price of the Evo 3d, then then 3d isn't worth getting and you may as well get something new like the HTC One X.
I really think the other guys recommendation NOT to buy the Evo 3D is completely missing the cheap cost of the Evo 3D (for most people). If you are getting it on contract it might not be worth getting, so do your sum's first

I bought another battery and it had the same problem. It would only charge to about 50-70% over a full night (12 hours or so), so I would need to wait 2 days to use my phone again. It had this bug with NAND cLk Android & normal WP6.

i came from my hd2 about a month ago. got it cheap 229 from asda. Never thought i would get rid of my hd2 but this phone is a big improvement. the battery life is better. more importantly everything just works.
I was a flashaholic on the hd2 but not touched this phone which says alot about it imo.
I think you will be fine.

Go on amazon.com and get the wall charger with 2 batteries. It's well worth it. Under $20 and very nice to never have to plug ur phone in. Yeah u gotta rip the back off and switch them all the time but this thing starts up so fast compared to my og EVO it doesn't even matter. U will like the phone. These new evos not having replaceable batteries has got to be a bad thing. I dont know how it will ever get rooted if u can't get urself out of s bootloop lol. I haven't rooted my 3d yet cuz I don't really like the methods out right now and with it getting ics I probably won't even bother.

As a fairly new Evo3D user I can say it's a great phone and I see no reason not to get it. I upgraded from a Samsung Moment and have been impressed with the power of my new Evo3D, which is a beast compared to the Moment. The only thing I don't like about the EVO3D is that it doesn't have a physical slide keyboard built-in; I loved that feature of the Moment and am still getting used to using the inefficient on-screen touch keyboard.
As for ROMs, I first flashed the Fresh v4.2.0 because it is basically a better version of Stock. Fresh runs excellent on this phone and battery is good. Now for the past few days I am testing MeanROM v3.4 with Chad's Anthrax kernels, and still trying to get it working right. If I can't make an Anthrax kernel work well I'll probably go back to the kernel that came with Fresh as I had absolutely no problems with it.
My friend want to trade our phones, my Evo 3D for Sensation XE. Both phones are 1 month old, and i realy don't know what to do. I know that this section is Evo 3D fans, but anyway i need your opinion.
I saw this comparation:
http://geekaphone.com/compare/HTC-Sensation-XE-vs-HTC-EVO-3D
Before Evo 3D i have 2 sensations (not XE) and on both i have dust under the digitizer and i am afraid of that problem with sensation xe. I don't know if it's sloved on XE. So, i need your opinions..Thanks.
Key differences are sensation has 256mb less ram, and a single 8 megapixel camera. It also has a much bigger device scene. I would say do it.
