Best 32gb miscrosd for TF - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

I'm in a dilemma on which microsd to buy. I want to get a 32gb class 10 microsd but the companies such as patriot, lexar, kingston, etc all have complaints about the card performing more like a class 6 or slower. I also read in some cases a sandisk class 4 outperform these cards. Is there a popular 32gb microsd that people are using with the tf that is showing great performance?

Do you really think that you are going to notice a difference between class 6 and 10?
Also remember that the class only has to do with write speeds, not read speeds.
With that being said, I just picked up a PNY 32gb class 10 from Newegg for $56 delivered, they are out of stock on it again, but sign up for the "Auto Notify" and you can grab one as soon as it gets back in stock (most likely a few days, like last time)
BTW, it works perfectly in my Transformer...

Have you tested the write/read speeds for the PNY card you bought?
If so, could you please post them - I'm on the look out for such a card.

Just bought 32GB Class 10 A-Data microsd... it works like a charm

No, I have not, I don't have an adapter for it to use in my card reader on my PC...

FWIW, I got a Sandisk C4 from Amazon for $60 including shipping. Works great. Since I'm not recording HD video to the thing, C4 is plenty fast.

WinTek cards from Frys are cheap & work very well. Sometimes you can find Patriot 32GB Class 10 for 80ish if you're willing to spend a little more at Frys also.
I'm currently using the Transcend 8GB class 6 in all of my devices, speeds are pretty good so far - they are around $15-20 including a SD adapter.

Wow! You are correct, sir. Major brain fart on my part. Hadn't hit the confirm order button so was able to save myself the headache.
I am currently using the Wintec 16gb class 10 and they are fine. Speeds are way above 10mb per second write. I get up to 12 mb per sec write and 17mb per sec read.
Polaroid 16GB from Fry's is $17.99 this week after rebate. Bad news is mine just died today in my N1 (error check fails / can't format). Good news is that it's lasted in my daily driver phones for the last two years. Considering I used it for swap while I had a G1 I'm surprised it didn't die sooner. Not a bad deal if you regularly backup your SD.

Its definitely a class-10, the videos and pictures play and save pretty quickly compared to the stock card that came with the htc evo.
Can someone recommend a good (aka fast) 32GB micro sd card? I'm not concerned with cost. I'd rather just spend the money up front than worry about whether or not the card is too slow. Also, is there a nice comparison chart of 32GB cards with read/write speeds of various class cards?
Thx
EDIT: Well, I'm a bit confused. Which SD format does the tablet actually support? SD or SDHC? I would like to get the largest, fastest card.

[Q] Question about Wintec Class 10 MicroSD card

Hi. I read that a few of you have bought wintec micro sd cards from newegg.com. I was wondering if you had any problems with this card. The reviews on newegg seem mixed. I particularly want to buy the 16 gb class 10 microsdhc. Does this card work in the transformer? Any help would be great. I want to spend my money right the first time and not waste any on unreliable cards. Thanks

Not sure about the Transformer (yet... still waiting for mine. Hopefully tomorrow), but I bought one for my Motorola Atrix. After formatting it in the Atrix, it worked for a little while, then my Atrix said the card was unrecognizable. I had similar issues when I put it in my Nexus One as well. Using it in the SD adapter with my PC or camera doesn't seem to have the same problems.
I find that a class 4 card is good enough for most things. Heck, I use a class 2 card on my Archos 5 Internet Tablet to hold movies, and I have never seen it stutter. I just bought a class 4 card in anticipation of my Transformer.
If you want a faster card, get one from a reliable manufacturer. But I really don't think you'll need it.
I've been using the 32GB Wintec class 10 in my EVO for months with zero issues. It's fast too...makes a very noticeable difference when viewing pictures in the gallery. I was a little nervous after hearing other people's reviews, but it's been great for me. I make sure to backup fairly regularly though, just in case.
My 1st wintec 16gb class 10 would constantly get corupted in my epic and wouldn't be recognized in my laptop at that point. I formatted it numerous asy and the results were always the same. Rma'd it and just got the replacement today. Will load some things on and give it a shot with files I won't care about losing if it goes down.

I couldn't wait for a decent 16GB Class 10 microSDHC card to get back in stock, so I ordered two of these Wintec cards from Newegg yesterday. I know there's a chance they will crap out soon, but I thought I'd take the chance since I'm impatient. I wish the A-Data ones would come in stock sooner.
Sad part about the Adata ones is they're usually a class or two slower than their rating. So their class 10 is probably about a class 6 where Sandisk ones usually outperform their class. I have a class 2 32gb Sandisk in my Samsung Epic and have had no complaints about speed or reliability.
Im using one right now in a stock unrooted TF. But when I tried to root it , it always corrupts that card!
I bought two Wintec 16GB Class 10 MicroSDHC cards and they BOTH didn't work. I couldn't format them and I had problems recognizing them on the TF and computer. I'd stay away from them.
Wintec class 10 16gb microsd works fine with my TF.
Faster than my other class 4.

Buying a MicroSDHC card
Class has to do with the speed of data transfer to your “microsdhc card”.
You may want to be careful of that particular memory card (Wintec Class 10 MicroSDHC) on Newegg, Located at ...... Alot of very bad reviews for this item. It has a very high failure rate. 1/3 of the cards fail, become nonfunctional after a very short time, loose data, lock up, etc.
For a couple dollars more you may want to get SanDisk or Kingston memory. I have been using their memory products for many years. Both have an excellent rating and warranty. I also find it hard to believe that you can get a real, reliable and functional Class 10 memory at that price. Usually a Class 10 memory retail about $175.00 $190.00 but can be bought for $ 75.00 to $90.00 dollars.
People who usually use Class 10 are photographers, for speed of image transfer to memory and less time waiting between shots, and heavy duty graphic users that have a lot of transfers to do with large files.
For example for a real Class 10 memory:
NewEgg:..... $89.00
Amazon:..... Kingston-MicroSD-Adapter-SDC10-16GB $82.00
Example for Class 2 memory:
SanDisk 16 GB microSDHC Flash Memory Card $23.85
Example for Class 4 memory:
Kingston 16 GB Class 4 MicroSD Flash Card with SD Adapter $32.84
Class 2 or 4 will do just fine for your Asus Transformer.
Just go with Sandisk. Even Class 2/4 Sandisk cards will be fast enough. Cheaper brands just stick a class 6/10 on their cards and buyers will eat them up. But real-world performances will show you that they're definitely not in the same class as Sandisk cards.

Micro SD card suggestions?

I am looking for a micro SD card for my Asus either 16 or 32gb. Any suggestions? Class, brand where to purchase at decent price? I appreciate any info and thanks.

I have the Adata 16GB Class 10 from newegg. Works really well.
i got a 16gb sandisk from amazon...pretty cheap.... im sure its a generic one but never had a problem with generics
I've used the 16gb class 10 Wintec Filemate. I tested it with hw2test (forgot the exact name), and it turned up 12 mb/s writing and nearly 20 mb/s reading. So it's definitely a class 10 and performs higher than its class actually. It's worked well for the past year, and is generally around 25-30 bucks on Amazon.
Try checking out Amazon's prices, they're usually pretty good. You can get a 16GB card for as low as $16 and a 32gb starting around $40. I usually stick with Sandisk; haven't had a problem yet. They're usually a bit more, but the reviews tend to be high. I went with a 32gb-- class 4 to keep the price down-- but I think I'm gonna go with an Ultra model (15 mb/s) when I get a 32GB SD card for the dock. I have one in 2GB and side by side, it's like tortoises (not the fast ones on youtube) and hares. And with recent price drops, it'll be cheaper!
I appreciate the replies. Is there a major difference between a class 10 and a class 4?

I got a 32G Class 4 Sandisk off Amazon for ~$50. Works great. Sustained write is somewhere around 6 MB/sec.

You might want to check you are actually getting the full 32gb capacity on that card. There are a lot of fakes on Ebay that show up in Windows etc as the size stated but if you actually try to copy that amount to the card it fails.
Ive had great luck with both my aData and Sandisk 32gig cards. One is a class 2 and one is a class 4.
One thing to note with classing of cards is pretty much any card will be fast enough to operate with the TF. Playing videos and holding data for programs. The Class only refers to write speed, so its how fast you can put data on the card. This will primarily come into play when copying large files to the card. If you arent worried about that as much then you could save some money passing on higher classed cards.

32gb micro

i was wondering if i get a 32gb micro sd...does the galaxys2 support it? and where is hte cheapest i can get it from?
According to the specs on GSMArena it says that it does, but that also depends on the brand you get. There are a lot of sellers who has it but some of them are fake 32GB cards where you put it in and it is actually a 16GB or the class is actually lower than advertised, for example a class 10 really is a class 2 or 4. Just make sure to buy it from a reputable place, like Newegg or something.
It will work. I'm using a Sandisk Micro SDHC 32gb Class 4.
Newegg was selling 32GB Micro SDHC's for $35 not too long ago, not sure if the deal is still there.
Like someone said, there are LOTS of fake one's out there. Make sure you get it from reputable reseller, Newegg, Amazon, etc.
Yes, the 32gb will work.
I just placed an order for a 32gb class 10 from amazon that comes with card reader for $61.... with prime shipping it should be here friday morning.
The fact that the SHDC slot is not hot swappable is pretty annoying, so I am going to leave this 32gb card in my phone and hopefully I can use the USB host cable I ordered with a usb-micro sd reader for extra space on the go.
Ordered a 32 gig class 4 earlier off third party Amazon seller for 44 bucks shipped. Will test it when I get it and report back

Class 2 won't be too great for recording video... HD especially.
I've had my eye on the 32GB class 10 ADATA cards for a while, and since I just got a SGS2 maybe it's finally time to get one.
(Man. First few posts... can't provide links to the card I referenced... can't post in the development forums... I feel so restricted. :| )
everyone getting these ~$40 class 2/4 cards.... why not splurge for another $20 and have more than double the transfer rate?
Turns out the Galaxy S2 series even supports Micro SDXC (aka, 64 GB and up) cards too...
It's just that the stock kernel doesn't support exFat, so you have to re-format the card with FAT32 (at least until kernel devs can get exFat support worked in).
64GB has been confirmed to work, and with 128 GB around the corner, the possibilities for storage are pretty endless... Assuming you have the cash that is.
Coming from wp7 we learned that sandisk class 2 and 4 cards out benchmarked other cards of higher class. Not all cards but a few of them. The wp7 os was so sensitive to SD cards.

I'm curious about the Class 4 vs Class 10 war update.
When I had my Infuse, it was really determined that the Infuse 4G hardware really didn't take advantage of Class 10, so weather you buy 2 or 10 the speeds seen were the same on that device. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this handset, and can tell me with certainty if there's a difference on THIS device. I'm happy to upgrade, but want to know things like "Scanning Media" will significantly go faster to make the upgrade worth it.
Thoughts\Opinions\Dirty looks appreciated.
I would guess you wont see real world differences with class 2 vs class 6/10..other than video recording/playback. but when transferring files there is no way a class 2 can compete with higher rated cards.
and I wish I knew about the SDXC cards working... might have to order one and send the 32 back.

When you say file transfer, my understanding is the transport hardware samsung is using slows down the transfer. Do you know this to be true\untrue? I just don't want to buy class 10 and not feel a wooosh of faster speed. Think I'm better off staying put w\ 4?
I can't definitively say that the phone slows transfers since I haven't seen a reliable source report that.... I have yet to try the class 10 card myself since it hasn't arrived. I only know what has happened with the cards I do have.
From what I read in regards to card class and phone use, the majority consensus seems to be that in order to get "true 720" video you need to have a card rated higher than class 2.. considering this phone does 1080 recording I didn't want to be cheap.. for an extra $20 I got a card from a reliable manufacturer and source that was the highest class and capacity available, it wasn't a hard choice for me.
I transfered a couple 3.5gb .mkvs over to the class 4 card I currently have in the phone and it kept timing out or the transfer times would jump up to 30+ minutes and then fail nearly every time. This card works flawlessly in other applications so it might very well be the phone slowing down these transfers. I tried with a variety of other class 2 and 4 cards with similar results. Plugging any of the tested cards into the card reader in my pc transfers the files without a hitch.

Good observations. I'm kinda in the same boat as you. That was my experience. I ran the SD Card test on the Class 10 I had and the Infuse said it was just SLIGHTLY faster than the Class 4, so i kept the 4. At the time it was about $30 vs $65, so wasn't worth it for mediocre performance. Now I'm starting to think maybe it's worth it. I just don't like that when the card gets full of photos and songs, it takes forever to Scan Files every reboot or USB plug in\out

Hello there, i've been thinking of buying a new SD card and dont know which one is the best? I need 32 Gb and that it would be fast.
Thank you for your answers
Got this via NewEgg PNY 32GB Micro SDHC Class 10 w/adapter for $39.99 +tax(CA) + ship

Its rated a Class 10 so its faster than the stock Class 4 card, this should speed up things on your Evo 3D as it did mine.
I actually have the same card you where talking about. My buddy got the same card as you did. Reason I choose to get this one is because your card while claims to be 10 is actually a multipurpose card kinda. My card while has 4 on it is specifically designed for smartphones only. The cards are actually bout same price. Put both packages in your hand at best buy you will see. Btw my card gets about 2MPS higher score than my buddy on sd test. Both our cards are almost double SanDisk. PNY makes a nice card but pricey.....

Just ordered a class 10 from the transcend site for $53.40. Everyone should order what they are comfortable with . I haven't had any problems with Transcend ever.
PNY class 10... best out there and great price. don't go cheap on your SD cards. stick with big names like sandisk and PNY and look for good deals out of those two.
I hope its ok if I ask in this thread 3 weeks after the last post.
Which one of the three class 10 cards would you get:
Transcend TS32GUSDC10 33€
Samsung MB-MSBGA/EU 34,30€
Lexar LSDMI32GBSBEUR 35€ with USB Adapter
It is quite hard to find reliable read/write speeds with small blocks. I did not find any especially bad reviews, so if no one objects i will get the Transcend i think.
Why not a sandisk mobile ultra uhs-i class 6 enabled card?
Afaik the Evo 3d cant utilise the enhanced clock (= io) speed of uhs cards.
I also got the PYN 32gb class 10. I got it locally and I knew I could have gotten it cheaper online but I needed the card.
It had an instant rebate si I couldn't use my military discount which sucks, they should add both lol
