Please take 2 mi to email HTC about locked bootloaders. - HTC EVO 3D

I would like to get everone to email them and maybe we can get them to act on this a bit quicker.
This is the response I got;
Good question, Mike. We definately understand the concern regarding the phones with bootloaders that are currently locked.
Unfortunately, prior to the decision to refrain from locking bootloaders, the devices had already been shipped to their appropriate vendors, and it was too late to change the software on the phones.
As much as I would love to provide you with a solid answer regarding when the encryption/lock will be removed from our bootloaders, headquarters has not made any official announcements regarding this. Though, once this decision is made, we'll definately also announce this through our website, as well as Facebook & Twitter, as well. Stay tuned; we'll definately let you know, as soon as the information becomes available.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us, Mike.

I send an email yesterday about Sense Transparent Rosie, Panoramic Camera, Flashlight and some others missing Apps and this was their answer.
Dear Roque Perez,
I understand the importance of having your device perform to the fullest of its ability. The applications you describe were removed from the production model of the Sprint EVO 3D at Sprint's request so that it would function as intended. I do paologize for any inconvenience.

HTC is just holding us off with generic answers. I believe they are going to back out of this and not unlock the EVO 3D.

Wow that's what I'm talking about sprint can you tell me everything that is included in the update
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Sprint customer service--in the past 6 years anyway--has never let me down and never fails to impress me.
The only listed item is for calendar entries that were force closing when they were being edited. Beyond that we have no information that anything else was included. The issue seems to have been enough to warrant a maintenance release apparently.

If you are who you say you are, any reason why this isn't unlocked? I mean, for real. Think about it... The devs on xda pretty much decide shoot to which phones are purchased due to the customability and let me just say, after 100's of hours of deving on the EVO, I will not be happy if the 3d isn't rooted sooner than later..
Kick it in gear and get us the unlock update

What information do you have on the (what I presume would be an) OTA that will address the crypto-signed bootloader that HTC promised to "unlock" for us?
...and if not an OTA form will it be an RUU? If not that, then what? This is a MAJOR ISSUE to all of us here...if it is not addressed to our satisfaction I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that +95% of us WILL return our phones in 30 days.
In summation, how will this issue be address by HTC and/or Sprint?

I'd imagine the fact that hundreds of thousands of phones were already manufactured and packaged played into this...not to mention the corporate rigamarole involved in software development and then the politics involved in every department, subsidiary, manager and then the same at Sprint having to play their game...
My troll radar is screwy on this...

And a simple ota would solve all that. I'm sticking with my original thoughts. Seriously, how many people follow myn or virus and decide to get phone they use because of what team synergy is working on? Trust me, 2 million hits on rl5 alone for myn. Tmartin and myself watched 150k hits in a couple days when we ported the first sense 3 to the EVO.... Before kingdom... Trust me...non devs get like phones of great devs and a simple ota to unlock it is an easy fix... Not to mention keep strong loyalty for future evos... And better yet, sell a lot more once it hits xda that its rootable.
Just a thought

I don't know....XDA is a rather renowned entity these days, especially in this business. i wouldn't be shocked to hear they devoted one $12 an hour lacky to keep an eye on it...though, I'd also be surprised if that lacky had the meaty information we actually want.
...then why send him here?
But then again, Sprint reps I've talked to are universally less useful than most people on here (excepting, of course, Sprint employees who work here--never met one)...
..but then again, that would further illustrate how out of touch they are...
...but then again that would be a fantastic trolling angle...

Unlocked Bootloader Petition

Well its been a year and our bootloaders are still locked. In 2011 moto promised to embrace the dev community and unlock all the bootloaders on their phones. HTC started offering unlocks but moto hasn't said a word. I personally think it has something to do with Google's purchased of Motorola mobility but I'm not sure. They haven't issued any type of statement regarding this issue. Lets take action! We need EVERY one in the photon forums to take 3 mins and fill this out. This petition is flying around teh interwebz extremely fast. Its definitely going around XDA as all moto owners are joining forces, let's get in on it! I hope moto responds I really like them as a company now...

It is our intention to offer an unlockable/relockable bootloader, currently found on MOTOROLA XOOM, in future software releases starting in late 2011 where operator and channel partners will allow it.

I understand that you want to be able to do certain things with your Android device. I do not have any information whether there will be any changes to the way the unlock boot loader process to include S-Off. I appreciate your input concerning this issue.
I think they might change the way the bootloader work, if we send them more messages about that. Am I right?
By the way Htc has amazing technical support. they replied to my message in few hours
