hi
i searched for this issue and the closest thing i found was this
here which happens at the lock screen only
1. its software
since it shows in screen capture it has to be software
i got a bad pc display but if i zoom in i can see the lines fairly well
it only happens at the lock screen

Isn't it just your lockscreen background which is faulty?
I see no line on your added picture. Then this would be a hardware defect. Which I actually doubt though

You need to view the screen cap on a different device/computer. If you view it on the affected screen, of course it will appear in screen capture.
Viewed your attached file on my desktop and I see no lines. It might be your phone's screen!

is that a serious question?
I use it to change brightness and enable/disable bluetooth when getting into my car.
oops double post.
You do know all of that is available in the drop down tray. Including brightness. Just slide your finger across the tray left and right

not if it's on auto
plus, why not use it.
Maybe the OP doesn't feel like sliding down the notification bar.
To turn on BT I can
1) Hit the button on the power widget on my home screen
or
2) slide down notificiation, hit the BT icon, which opens up the BT settings, click enable BT... then hit back to return to my homescreen.
^ apologies, it just doesn't seem "simple clean" to me.....
"simple clean" is referring to the wallpaper... not the widgets/apps setup
eww, toooo many "samsung" on this phone already. =P
I kind of like it.
+1 to frankencat.
I love the samsung aspect to this phone.

Is it possible to capture my full screen, to post on-line, instead of just part of the screen,as w/ Drocap2?
I use a app called shootme, you will have to be rooted to use it.
Sent from my android using tapatalk.
Download screenshot it, it the best app for that and user friendly.

Without root, you can use DDMS from the Android SDK.

Cool Thnx guys, I am rooted n nvr tried posting my screen shot cuz it didn't capture the whole screen. But I just noticed some full screen shots (from others) posted on the web, n their previews r cropped, but the actual enlarged picture is full screen.
So will mine from drocap2 look that way to or should I get 'shootme'?
Let's find out:
Oh u just answered my above post. Cool
Cool, it works...Thnx everyone! Guess I shoulda figured that out sooner
I believe most people that have the notification bar chopped off their screen shots are using the sdk method

What 'trail light effect'?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
My guess would be as you drag your finger around the screen a light trail follows your finger around... It would have to fade out though as you move around the screen like a comet so the effect would look really nice...
But not heard or seen one in any themes or rom as yet (if thats what you mean)...

anyone noticed the light color patch on the right side of lock screen when you apply a dark wallpaper and ripple effect is ON?
It looked something like below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

removing the ripple effect fixes the light color patch. :good:
That thing is actually a ripple, you want to get rid of that nice effect, weird!
Maybe my kindergarten had failed me, but don't you mean the left side?

It's actually the right one, facing the phone
The thing in the left is a ripple when i took a screen shot.
Turn off the ripple effect and problem will be solved its usually cause of black wallpaper... No one at Samsung tested lockscreen with black wallpaper

yeah.. they got too excited releasing the phone and it had several bugs..
Same thing on mine as well.
is there any method of reducing or hiding the black outlining near the bezel on the g2.is it present in all the roms?
lol, that is a hardware not a software issue

i know the question is kinda noobish but what i mean is that the outlining thickness increses when the phone is running as compared to when phone screen is off or the phone is booting.i mean out of total outlining thickness 70% is hardware related and 30% is software related
can you post some pictures of what you're talking about?

i dont have other camera to take picture of phone.if u see your phone when its screen is off the thickness of black outlining around the screen is less.when you turn on the screen then more thickness is added by the rom to the outlining.see it
sorry, don't know what you're talking about... for me the bezel is always the same, screen off or screen on (stock rooted v20f d802)
It's practically bezel-free as it is, certainly the smallest bezel of any device in its class.
What do you expect?

When your screen is off, you see the bezel very thin, but when you turn on the screen, the surrounding area of the screen have black line that add more "bezel"?
If yes, then it's hardware related and you can't fix that
That's why I choose the black color, so I can't see the "bezel" difference between off and on screen.
I think most of white or non black color phone should have same problem, but on G2, is more thick.
And I think that's why LG G3 use all black color surrounding the screen on any phone color.
