My EVO 3D has been by far the best phone ever and is absolutely flawless. But I'm having a problem... The vibration just completely stopped working. It worked fine when I got it and then randomly stopped. No vibrate on keypress, calls, texts, etc. Nothing. But I was playing around and just tapped lightly on the phone like on the top and it would vibrate once or twice and then stop again... Does ANYONE know what this could be?!?! Please help!

Are you sure you have haptic feedback turned on. Ive noticed this phone is different from the OG Evo. On the OG you can turn off haptic feedback for softkeys and things like keboard press vibrate, etc, etc would work as well. On the 3D if you turn off haptic feedback its off on everthing haptic feedback works with until you turn it back on. Im not sure if that applies to the vibrate for calls and text though.
My ''xDU4L C0R3 SH00T3Rx'' shot you down in 3D!
How would I turn on haptic feedback?

Menu, settings, sound, scroll down to bottom and check vibrate feedback.

I did that and its still not working. I'll just have to go get it replaced

Mine is not working either. Have all settings on.
have you guys tried restoring the phone? maybe it's a software issue.. because for some reason, my evo 3d keeps shutting off the vibration on the haptic keys.. idk why.. and i have to manually go into the settings and turn it back on.. it gets frustrating but it may be software related.. idk..

Is there a registry tweak or option anywhere in the phone to automatically turn off the screen while on a call. One of my friends complaining that her earrings and face always launch applications and she was on a 3 way call with someone and she didnt even know because of this lol
I would like to know also as sometimes I feel the screen heats up the phone also by being lit.
wtf... you must have a bizzaro phone...
cause my **** shuts off in 2 seconds once i'm in a call... as a matter of fact there is a sensor that auto switches off the screen when ur in a call and you hold the phone up to your ear... i believe based on the g-sensor and light sensor.
and its annoying as hell... your phone must be blessed to stay on...
just press the power button tho man.
Check out the program S2U2, that's what I'm using and it works nicely. The phone is supposed to auto turn black when it gets near your face, but I noticed that it's too damn slow (VZW version) and it usually hits something before it turns black....
Mines never once done this action.
Mine intermittently works too. Of course it always turns the screen off when I call voicemail so I have to turn it back on to punch in my passcode.
Also, when I tell it to bring up the keypad after dialing voicemail, it brings it up and then goes back to the other options screen and I have to tell it to bring up the keypad again. Honestly, how hard can it be to program this stuff to work right? There are a lot of things I like about this phone but this kind of performance makes this phone more of a toy than a usable business device. I also can't believe how slow this device is ie. start menu. /end rant.
As ghostboy said try s2u2. Under the options there is a blank screen on call (or something like that) That turns the screen off for you.

Roger that. How do I get it to stay ON when in a call??
try this out!!
This one works for me.
Should the 4 bottom lights turn off eventually? I just never really paid attention on my other phones but if they dont turn off eventually its really annoying like watching a movie they stay on its just bugging me. I love the phone and just wondering if they do shut off eventually or do they stay on all the time
They normally have to shut off im pretty sure correct me if im wrong and for the moment flip the phone lol

Oh my god. Thank you for this. It works great with tasker. I have it set so that when I plug my phone in, tasker gives me 3 options. One is night mode. When I select that all my volumes but alarm turn way down and it turns Tue brightness down, but with the 3D it didn't seem dim enough, especially with the capacitive buttons beaming like lasers. But now it also starts screen filter at 45 percent and turns the buttons off. Also made is so when I launch certain games and all movies it'll turn off the buttons automatically. So helpful!

I have tried to search the forum, but could not find any thread. When I am on a phone call, the display/screen turns off and I am using speaker phone or bluetooth. In the call settings, the turn on proximity sensor is disabled or off.
When I am in a phone call, I want to see the screen turn on to see details and very seldom put the phone to my ear.
Hopefully, somebody can help me resolve my problem.
Thank you..
Maybe changing the screen sleep time to a, max of 10 minutes?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
With the sensor turned off, it sounds like its the standard screen timeout kicking in. I use Screen On, which overrides the timer for apps you specify, including an active call.
This bugs me too.
Anyone have a Tasker profile they could share for this?
My screen timeout is set to 10 minutes, since I thought that was the case. But as soon as I am on a call,, between 15-30 seconds, the screen is black and I have to press the power button to bring back the display.
Thanks for the advise and hope somebody can help us..
You could still try Screen On. When you bring up its list of apps, "Active Call" is the very first checkbox. Just make sure you also check the "enable" checkbox at the top-left of the list, too.
Your screen turns off during a call to conserve battery power. You don't reallt need the screen on while the phone is to your ear anyways. The proximity sensor detects this, and turns the screen off. As far as I know, there is no way to turn it off.

Most people use a build prob tweak called
ro.lge.proximity.delay=25
mot.proximity.delay=25
Here's a thread related to the issue,,mine works fine after tweaks,

I used AppAutoSettings to keep my screen on when on a call on my GSII.

Interesting. Sure enough, I tried turning the prox sensor off and enabled "active calls" in Screen On, rebooted, and it still turned off.
Very rapid vibration, 2 quick ones, every 30 seconds or so. Can't figure out what is causing it. Think it might be unread SMS, but I can't find anyoption to turn it off, so I'm not positive that's it.
Any ideas???
Just made a call, no unread text, no vibrations.
Sent myself a text, then made a call, vibrations at 12 and 32 seconds.
Made another call, no vibrations in 45 seconds.
Made another call, vibrated at 22 and 37 seconds.
I really have no idea what is causing this and its really annoying.
One more update, it spears to be smart alert in motion causing it. Was able to make it happen as often as I wanted by moving the phone from flat to vertical.

The title probably says it all. Now before I get attacked saying there are already options for it... you're only half wrong.
There are options for missed calls, emails, and something else. What I am looking for is and app or mod that will allow the back led to function for messaging, Facebook, Skype. That sort of thing.
I have 0 experience in programming and wouldn't even know where to begin. I frequently have my phone face down as I keep it in a case with holster combo most of the time. It would be awesome if that led worked for all events so I don't have to constantly check my phone.
I have verizon, I'm not 100% sure if the att, t-mobile and international versions can do the same.
Asking a dev to help me out and I hope I am not the only person requesting this.
Thanks.

Not rooted. I've looked at some of the market apps to control led's. But most say they don't work at all on lg devices besides the nexus

Got Light Flow to activate power button led on incoming text. It just required turning on the 1st and last LEDs on the list of additional LEDs found by Light Flow (not sure which one did the trick) and setting Light Flow to work via root access.
But there were problems After receiving the text message and seeing the power button led illuminate, the screen would not respond to Knock On and would turn on for a moment upon pressing the power button but turn off almost immediately.

Well thanks for being brave and taking a hit for the team. Hope you didn't have to restore from recovery to get beyond that? I suspect one of those LEDs is the one Promising.

I had the exact same problem when I tried using Light Flow to setup different color LEDs. Thankfully, if you can actually get the screen to stay on you can uninstall (or change settings) Light Flow to fix the problem. I had someone call me so the screen would stay on.
