Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to stop a specific applicaiton from updating. (that is not the disable automatic updates and manually update)
Some applications are frequently updated, and eventually you can reach a point where you have many programs wanting to update, and then 1 or 2 programs which you never want to update because the developer decided to remove a feature for no reason, or made a change that breaks compatibility with some devices.
Overall, I would like to be able to use the "Update All" button without having to worry about it updating the 1 or 2 applications that I never want updated.
When you press the update all button, it opens a popup saying that you disabled updated for certain app. It then asks if you still want to update it or skip it. Not automatic, but does the job

Regardless of why anyone would want to do this or not, can someone please tell me how to disable the auto updates for my Moto 360 Gen2? I have all updates in the play store disabled but the phone or my watch automatically downloaded the new software update, however, I do not wish to install it (no need to discuss this please). There is a constant notification on my watch to install the update and there doesn't appear to be any way to remove or dismiss the notification.
Also - I'm not talking about the android wear app, I'm talking about the actual software for the watch.
If it helps, my phone (droid turbo) is rooted and bootloader is unlocked. It appears that the phone downloaded the watch update so maybe there's a way to find and delete the file through root explorer but where would I look and how can I prevent recurring downloads?
It appears others are asking the same question: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/android-wear/zqyesmGXkHw
Thanks!!
Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me how I can disable OTA notifications? Also, how to delete the already downloaded update and prevent it from being downloaded again. The notification is pretty agressive, it always jumps to the update app at least twice a day.

First, why don't you want to update?
Second, to disable notifications from update, go to settings, apps, updater, notifications and turn all off. Try to delete the app's data also.

First, I spent two months to find out how to go back from Android 6 to 5, and I'm happy I could.
Second, the notifications are turned off,but it always jumps to the update page and wants me to press the update button. Turning off notifications doesn't help. Deleting app's data did not delete the update package.
Delete HWOUC app in /system/app

Freeze the update app using titanium backup. I do this to stop the pop up and can be easily reverted if I want to update
Hello Guys. I want to keep using a specific version of an app and dont want it to update. I do have auto updates turned off, but I use update all button to update my apps and dont want to cancel update for that app every time.
Thanks
The Nord N100 was found to have a history with the T-Mobile and Metro versions of software to force updates even if "Automatic system updates" is togged off in Developer Options.
Does the XT2093 ever do that? Anyone ever heard of it doing that?
I haven't had any problems with forced system updates per se. While devops option to disable automatic updates COUPLED with the moto system update app set to disallow automatic installation, I find when there is an update it tells me so and I can then perform a manual download and installation. So it works.
Thank you very much for this tip. I need to go in and find that moto system update app and disallow it.
I am having a hard time finding this moto system update app. I see the "Moto" app on my phone but don't see anything in there about system update.
I think I figured it out. You mean this screen, right?

Yep that's the screen. I should had mentioned it's a menu option within the Android Settings menu screen and not a launchable app.
Keep in mind as is noted as a footnote in the Smart Update screen, security updates will download and install automatically even if the option is turned off. You might end up seeing a notification saying there's an update ready to be installed and suggesting you reboot the device. Outside of disabling the moto software update app altogether I've found no explicit method of blocking these security updates from auto installing.
