[Q] key combinations in the browser - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

I've noticed that in the stock browser, you can actually use ctrl+t and ctrl+w to open and close tabs. However, it seems that every time I press ctrl+w it closes two tabs instead of just one. does anyone else have this problem?

Nope, but to add to the topic I did just notice that Ctrl -C and Ctrl -V work for Copy and Paste functionality.

Also holding the soft key back button will bring up your history tab in the browser. My 2 cents.

Scrolling in browser fields

I am afraid I already know the answer to this but hopefully there is a way. I was doing some stuff on the web and one of the pages was a registration form. The field for state was a dropdown box. The list item I needed was at the bottom so I needed to scroll down the list but there was no way to do so. Is there a way to do this?
Have u tried the dpad on the keyboard? Just a thought idk if that works just haven't run into that issue yet
I can't get the keyboard to come up. Once I leave the field for City, the keyboard goes away.

Long press on the menu button always brings the keyboard back...
.
On all Android devices, there are long press shortcuts and key-combination shortcuts.
There are the actual Android shortcuts, and some vendors such as Archos install their own.
I have never found any vendor that gives a full description of their devices shortcuts so I always either search Google (in the case of key-combination shortcuts) for any, other users have found, and long press every button on my device (front and keyboard in all applications...) to find out whats there.
Still working on this new device but seems to be limited to basic Android at mo.
I tried the long press. Maybe it is that web page's design. I have found that long pressing only lets you get to the keyboard in apps that require some kind of typing input. When I long press on that field, the keyboard never comes up.

Yeah, there are plenty of places where long press does not work.

Stock ICS browser - where is the home button?

Using the stock ICS browser. Simple layout and all, but where is the home button? Everytime it loads it tries to load the last page it was on and all I want to do is go to my home page...but I can't find a home button to press anywhere. I have the Dolphin HD browser also...and those are the only two I have ever used.
I'd also like to know this, been bugging me for a while now.
Best bet is to use ICS Broswer+ since stock browser leaves out the home button.
In the Top Right Corner there 4 icons one of them is a House Icon that is Home

IE Back Button within forums

Anyone else notice that when using IE that the back button doesn't work. When looking at the expanded "Back" I see the attached.
Any idea how to fix this?
Try this: click anywhere (away from links and text boxes) on the page to make sure nothing is selected/highlighted, then use the backspace key on your keyboard. It should take you to the previous page. I don't use IE, but this should be common to multiple browsers.

I would definitely recommend using another browser such as firefox or chrome. Especially once we get ICS, I know I'll be using chrome on my phone and am contemplating switching from firefox to chrome on my pc.
Or use FireFox.

How to copy and paste in Chrome?

Really dumb question, but I can't seem to figure out how to copy and paste in Chrome (downloaded from Google Play).
For example, i see a URL displayed within a website, I can highlight that URL by long pressing, but I don't know which button to press to "copy" and then "Paste" the URL to the address bar on top.
Thanks!
I just struggled with that for about 15 minutes. I tried every option on the top of the screen. I eventually hit the share option and tested myself the link.

After you highlight the url, long press it again and the menu will pop up, click the one with the scissors....get to where you want to paste it, long press and press "paste"
Flaky as he'll for me even hitting the right icons after the long touch to enter cut 'n paste mode. Often use the share workaround or a different browser.

Trying everything right now and nothing seems to be working. In chrome, pushing the button that looks like copy/cut crashes the browser. In the original Internet browser from Samsung, it doesn't actually copy anything to the clipboard.
I'm on Verizon if that makes a difference.

Chrome not visible in recent opened apps?

I have had my xtz for 3 days and love it, just trying to get to the bottom of a minor issue.
With chrome open if I press the recent apps button chrome will minimise and appear, however if I press the home button then click the recent apps button chrome is not visible, I have to re open the app to get back to it.
Just wondering if there is a simple fix for this? I'm using 4.2.2 .136
I'm guessing the simple solution may be to switch browsers? On my Xperia t I actually use the stock browser and love it, but this first seen available for the tablet z?
Thanks
