[Q] Latest software version? - HTC EVO 3D

OK, so installed the initial OTA, and my software version is 1.13.651.7. However, anytime I go into HTC Watch to try and watch The Green Hornet, I get a "Update needed" message that kicks me to the screen to check for software updates. I click check now, and get the "no updates available..." message. Am I missing an OTA that my phone just can't seem to find, or is HTC Watch just broken?
Anyway, can someone who has taken all the OTAs check their software version number and let me know if it's different than mine?
Thanks.

i have the same software version and htc watch widget works for me.maybe try rebooting your phone.

Tried that, over and over. Just doesn't want to work, I guess. Maybe I'll just take the phone in and get it replaced...

Youtube and Spiderman work fine. The only issue I'm having is with Watch constantly asking me to update, and there not being an update available.

I've tried both the original SD and copying everything in the HTC Watch folder to my 16GB card, and both give me the "A software update is needed" error.

[Q] TB Software Update question

I was checking for a software update today on my Thunderbolt. Instead of coming back with "No update found" when I initiate the check, the "checking for new software" window just disappears without telling me if new software is there or not. Anyone else seeing this?

I just tried it on my wife's phone and it came back with the "No Updates Found" screen.
I noticed that this morning as well. I have checked it multiple times since and it's still doing it. Yesterday I was getting the "no new update" screen, todays the "checking for update" screen just disappears and nothing happens.
Weird.
Yea an OTA push could be incoming. Yesterday, it was saying no new software available. Today when I check, the windows closes and disappears without any notice.
Good to know my phone is not the only one acting wierd. I'm trying not to get too excited over an incoming OTA update.
Ditto for me as well

my thunderbolt (unrooted MR2) is doing the same thing as well. When i checked for updates last week, it did not do this.
Question: will an OTA update remove root with new firmware or will it just update the OS?
sent from my rooted Thunderbolt using XDA app
i'm not rooted, but it is my understanding that you should not accept updates if you are rooted. Perhaps someone else can comment on this to verify.
Correct, dont accept.

I updated last week. No issues so far. Green Hornet 3D works as well as other updates from HTC like watch app, widgets, etc. Idk if those who haven't updated get those notifications.
Can someone tell me what does the update fix
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
not sure, but it probably is something to make the rooting process more difficult
I have the latest software and i had 0 bugs or problems with the phone, no dead pixels, all my stock apps and widgets work, Green Hornet works, the phone icon stays put. And I'm planning to Root it once a helpful developer makes it possible on my MAC.
I have it and so far i've been able to do everything that people don't have it can Temp Root and Overclock.
Thanks guys people where having issues using the lock screen after the software update also somethin with the phone icon . I have been lovin the phone no issues for me. On the good and EVO site they were sayin the new software update came with bugs . Wanted to get a list going of issues. Thanks again

What was defective ? HTC is working on another update and that bootloader .
Also update will not **** rooting up since most of us are waiting for the bootloader to get unlocked.
I'm on the most updated software, yet Green Hornet isn't working for me. It says "No Videos". Someone know a solution?

New update available?

My phone finds a software update. I'm afraid to do it because it will break root or lock the bootloader or something.
Is there any resources that shows me what all the official updates do?

Lmao you think I don't know the different between clicking market and clicking settings, scrolling all the way to the bottom, clicking software update, and clicking the confirm ok button?
I do not have down syndrome.
Also, I can't check for updates now because I am debloated and zip aligned so it wont find any, just tried.
My question still stands. Is there a resource that will show us what the official updates do?

AT&T will put out a update announcement with change logs. Since there isn't any official announcement, we don't know what it is until someone applied it. And if you're rooted and made some changes, I'd be very careful about accepting any OTA updates. First OTA update for Captivate bricked a lot of rooted phones (and some stock, non-rooted phone as well).
I can confirm with the OP that yes indeed this morning I hit the Check for software updates and it gave me that an update is available but servers are busy now try again.
Weird. No update available on my end. Yet.

I just checked the software update and it gave the message along the following lines
"Communication Failed:
There is an update available for your phone but the software servers are busy. The phone will try to contact the server again"
if you try again it says "Current software is up to date. You may check again in 23hrs 59mins"
I wonder if this is a small update that fixes the password lockscreen issue?

I forgot about the password lock bug. This may be the update for it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
Probably is the fix for lock screen bug. The update does not always show up for all phones. It is rolling out in batches. You can try cleanup the cache data for the update app and try again. At least, that's how we did it in the past with Captivate.

might have bricked some stock phones but never installed on my captivate after rooting it. It would get to 50% and fail. That is why I refuse to do ota updates, safer either Odin or CWM or Kies but ota I dont ever trust lol

[Q] A new software update is available

So this morning the Easter bunny left me a present... My AT&T LGOG says software update available. Does anyone know if the bunny dropped off Jellybeans or just another egg?
I was trying to get a screenshot of the useless message, but the update tried to install and the phone rebooted. Then the firmware update screen reported a failure. After reboot my phone still works on ICS. I'm going to take a backup now and be safe as long as the update doesn't update recovery/bootloader...
Turns out my screenshot worked after all.

What are the changes?
Got the same update notification but when I tried to install it, gave me a error message because I'm rooted. Was hoping it will be jellybean.

It isn't I woke up and installed it hoping it would be JB, turns out it is a minor update to 11c that was handed out to a lot of people in December.

Darn, I was thinking it would have been quite funny if AT&T released a candy named update on a holiday associated with said candy...
Yep, I am still on 10o so this is just the step to 11c.

Yes. Can you re-root it?
I'm on stock & rooted. Not unlocked.
Update notification went off this morning; read some of this thread; told it to let me know again in 8hrs.
Just went off again, I said ok, whatever, told it to update. It rebooted, & now it's just sitting there at the white, "rethink possible" screen.
Key combo reboot actually got it into the "software update" screen, but that then error'd at 1% complete. Error was something like, "01X03fed." It disappeared too quickly while I was typing this. Rebooted again, fully this time, and a, "Installation interrupted" warning is showing.
Hopefully the update notification will be gone, too...

Not able top update phone?

I have had the AT&T HTC One for about 4 months now and it has never found a system update. I now know that the Kit Kat update is available, but again my phone tells me there is no update available and that it is up to date when I know it is not. I live in the US and I know others have gotten the update so I am not sure if something is wrong with the device or what...I am still on Android version 4.1.2 and HTC Sense version 5.0.
I have checked for the update while on Wi-Fi and still noting it says it is up to date. Is it possible I have just yet to receive it or is there something else I should try. or a way to get the upgrade manually?
Thanks
PS: sorry if I posted in the wrong section

Try setting your clock a few months ahead. That has worked for some.
Gave that as hot and still nothing. My phone will occasionally start searching for an update but it will do it for hours and never find anything...not sure if its the phone or the update. I have read there were glitches. And I have read that some people have had it available one day and it was gone the next.could it have been removed to work out bugs? Or do I need a new SIM maybe? Seems like no update works.

No not really
It may be easier to get s-off with your current 4.1.2 setup but if your not interested in being unlocked and rooted you can just take the Signed RUU followed by the OTA.
The signed RUU is a windows app ..you can get it here
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2.exe
Or you could just go to the store and get a new SIM.
My One (got it from Best Buy in the fall) wasn't updating, no matter what I tried (factory reset, changing the date, re-locking my bootloader). I read on another forum about someone getting a new SIM. When I went to the AT&T store this morning, I told them that I called Tech Support and they told me to come in and get a new SIM. They switched it out, no problem. The funny thing was, the guy remarked that my SIM (from Best Buy) looked a little different. Sure enough, I could tell it was colored a little different.
I get home and the OTA started downloading the second I connected to my WiFi (battery has to be over 50% - mine was around 90% due to just coming off car charger).
I'd go the new SIM route first, just to save yourself the hassle of reloading/reinstalling everything on your phone.
