How to bypass Phone activation of Thunderbolt? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There are ways to bypass the phone activation? Please help me! Thank you
Phone activation for a long time did not respond, because I use China Telecom SIM.
I found HTCSetupWizard.apk contains the phone activation.
HTCSetupWizard.apk there are ways to modify it?

If you can gain root access through ADB then you might be able to go in there and delete the apk itself... But thats a bit beyond my knowledge so I'm hesitant to give you that as an option...

On the droid you could bypass the activation by pressing all for corners of the screen in the correct order. Not sure if it's the same on the thunderbolt.

I deleted the HTCSetupWizard.apk. But the manual setting is not perfect. If this is the only other way now. Droid can bypass! Thunderbolt is no way?

If the Droid method did not work then no, not to my knowledge, but someone else may know of a way!

Thank you! Look forward to the emergence of the master!

Haha! You'll know when he's emerged when the smell of Gingerbread floats through the air and into your Thunderbolt

The tbolt uses sense for initial setup as opposed to the stock android setup, if you can find a bypass method for another htc phone, chances are that it will work on the tbolt.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk

The bypass method I think you are referring to goes like this.
When you first boot and see the android saying touch me to begin, tap all 4 corners of the screen, starting at the top left and going clockwise. It usually takes me a couple tries to hit all the right spots.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

People there is NO ANDROID saying click me on a factory fresh THUNDERBOLT.... So that TAP 4 corners thing will not work!!!
It takes you right to CHOOSE LANGUAGE LIST and then after you choose it HANGS on activation screen FOREVER...
I make these work on Pageplus but I reset one and now cannot get past the stupid activation screen! God I hate Verizon and all these other carriers making life miserable if you dont pay their high prices..haha
There HAS TO BE a way to bypass this thing, theres not a phone yet that you cannot bypass activation...
ANYONE???
If I find out I will post here IF I DONT THROW THIS STUPID PHONE FIRST!!..lol

Its probably not the solution you are looking for, but if you root / load an AOSP rom (cm7, omgb, etc), you have the default android setup and should be able to bypass screen. If you have to have sense, then I'm not sure. Then again, i'm assuming you already have USB debugging activated, which might not be the case. Just some thoughts that might help.

if your phone is already rooted w/ enabled with debugging (example:custom rom) or hold the search button and say application settings and enable debugging
then use android commander and rename that apk to .bak
that's what worked for me

how to BYPASS htc 6400
the only way is that you bypass is by press the next after the language selected it goes to activating screen than you press search button that will take you back to emergency option now press emergency and dail ##7764726 that should take you to input SPC codes which is 6 ZERO's as you know this lol . go toNAM-general and program like you always do . done and dont get mad be glad and eveything comes together ok bro hahahahah enjoy[/RIGHT]

Verizon lte galaxy tab 10.1 help

Im trying to root my tablet WITHOUT activating it through the simcard and i cannot figure out how to do it I was wondering if anyone else found a way to bypass the stupid SIM activation. I followed the steps on GALAXYTABHACKS.COM and i CANNOT go into recovery to install the zip file the screen just gives me the green android guy for software downloading and the other icon with the android logo and the white box. the tab conects to wifi fine through the settings and im able to download apps though the market and open them only through the market since i cant see the home screen at all. I managed to download the ZIP file into the sd card via dropbox but im just stuck now.
I wanna either bypass the stupid activation or root it then activate it later.
anyone? I'd appreciate the help. Any time of help lol
Did you select the Android + box? That's what you have to do. Follow the instructions here: http://www.fun47.com/verizon-4g-lte-samsung-galaxy-tab-rooted/
yea it keeps saying error 401 on the link when i go to the site. and when i click on the android + icon nothing happens just a blank screen
Hmmm, strange, the site works. Did you try to access it from your Tab or from a computer?

When the tablet ask the activation, just tape on the screen on each corner (up-left, up-right, down-left, down-right) and volume down (the right button in volume) and you're tablet will pass the activation.
I've done it on my own tablet and it works perfectly. If you need more help, I remain at your disposal.
Sincerely,
Avalon

tape on the screen on each corner together or just one by one ?
can u record a video for proof
i tried same u say many time but cant ( today 4G galaxy tap 10.1 verizon
bypassing 4g
Tap on the corner of the tablet in this order when it boots up
top left
top right
bottom left
bottom right
I am recalling from memory
for the final step
after above procedure
hit power or
hit vol up or
hit vol down
This means you will have to do this at least 2 more times that usual but, one of these sequences will work.
This will then bypass the 4g setup and go into wifi setup for the initial setup of the tab....
Hello, I’m having this same issue. I factory reset the tablet, and I keep getting an error message. It says “SIM Initialization error” a SIM card is needed to operate this tablet. Please turn off your tablet and insert your SIM card.” I do not have a SIM card, and would like to use the device with wifi instead. I have been unable to get the trick with touching the corners of the screen to work. Is there another way to bypass this screen? Or can someone post a video showing me how to do it right?

Found a phone. Any way to bypass lock (without wiping) to find owner?

By setting a lock pattern/pin, you protect your personal information. But it seems if the phone is lost, you've made it impossible for the person who found it, to find you.
I have here a lost Android phone. Now I'm trying to find out who the owner is, however I can't get it unlocked.
My questions is, is there any way to bypass this lock screen without resetting the whole phone?
The official recovery method is to log in to the phones Google account, which I obviously can't do. I'm aware of methods such as booting into recovery, wiping/reflashing etc. but that would wipe out any means of finding the owner.
There's no SD card on this particular model to pop out and look for clues on.
If there's no way around the lock without wiping, then I guess I have to keep the phone .
Take it into one of the retail stores for the carrier and they can return it to the owner. There is a MEID label on most phones (my DX has one under the battery) which identifies the device and can be traced back to the owner by the carrier.
which model is this u are talking about and its a bad bad thing
tell me the model number ... or else check it always pops up the email u can always send email to the owner ...
try posting ur screen by making a screen shot from android sdk method
Nexus S.
Phone has no branding on it, but the sim inside is from 3 mobile. So I assume the phone is from there as well. If it's not, can they still track it.

yes i think they might can track if its kept on... they track it bt nearest phone tower location
they can't trace exact gps location i think bt tracks the local area... u might can get into trouble if u don't reply it to the owner ...
the best option i consider is rush to the nearest 3 mobile outlet if there any in ur area ... don't show them phone jst say u found a sim with this this number (numbers are on top of sim ) and also certain goods of the owner and u want to contact him personally as the artifacts are quite costly
this is the best option
and if there is no number over sim then took the sim itself to the store
good thing to know u wanna return back thanku from my side
i think this is the link for u
http://www.three.com.au/cs/ContentServer?c=Page&pagename=3CA%2FPage%2F3CAStatic&cid=1236150762310
or call 3 Care on 133 320
I can't use the SDK, since debugging mode isn't turned on.
But a screenshot isn't really going to help anyway, since all you can see is the pattern lock screen.
I'm not sure what you mean. How do I make their email popup?
i meant that when i forgot my lock pattern once .. i clicked on forgot pattern.. then i send a link to my email id automatcly with few clicks... and at last it poped up a menu saying
"email has been sent to - (My email id) "
can you not connect the phone by usb and access its memory with correct driver?! and if you enter the pattern many times wrong like 17 times i think it will ask you to log into the google Account, maybe there u see the account login and can just send an email from your comp to that address/name.
edit: i just notice kshitij_bhatt said about the same thing

Only thing I can suggest is to unlock the bootloader then install a custom rom that doesn't have crapblur
Try the following:
Need a MotoCast ID?
Go to Settings > Accounts on your Motorola Android phone and select MotoCast ID, or visit mymotocast.com and download and install the MotoCast desktop software.
Grabbed that from their Website. Should be able to create an account once you download the software it appears.
I had similar grief when I had my sim card replaced even though its the same service number, motoblur actually pairs the SIM ID + Service Number to your Motoblur accuont... which I find is ridiculous but it is what it is.
Power off phone. Hold down power and volume down. Release power when you see words across the top and scroll down to recovery mode. Then select wipe data / factory reset. Reboot and create yourself a motoblur account. As soon as you pull your sim card though it will ask you to log in again

ya but like i said that is another problem, when trying to unlock the bootloaders, when it says to hold vol. up and power....it just boots up...it wont do none of that, and that motocast has nothing to do with this problem, i cant even go 2 settings anyway
that does not work eather...it wont do that eather
Do the volume buttons actually work?

When motoblur setup comes up, can you hit menu and add an APN to get 3G data?
Try holding up/down Vol while inserting the battery, keep holding till you get into rsd or fastboot - depending which button you press.

How can i reset the lock screen pin i forgot what i put?

I changed the lock screen code on my phone and need help to recover or reset it any help would be appreciated its the samsung galaxy 3 sph-l710 thanks in advance!
I think after several failed attempts it will prompt you to input your Gmail account. Let me test for you and see if it does.
Edit: And that was a resounding failure on my part. I'm not sure what you can do besides maybe doing a factory reset through Odin? This is my first Samsung phone so I'm not familiar with Odin yet.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I don't think a pin code security will ask for gmail after a few failures like the pattern security will, if you have a nandroid, then maybe restore. I don't think security settings will stick across nandroids yet.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
thanks you your input. i've tried over 50 x's lol and it has yet to prompt me for my e-mail. and the phone is still new to me and i have not rooted yet. so no nandroid for me. im on the phone with sprint as i type this. I will report back my results for others to learn from my mistake
Can't you still access your recovery to perform a factory reset? Turn the phone off, then hold vol up, home, and power until the Samsung screen flickers, and when your stock recovery opens there should be an option for factory reset. If not just choose reboot to system. You'll have to set everything back up but at least you'll be able to access your phone again.

yes! hard reset was the final answer! sucks but what can you do is there anyway to make it prompt you to send pin/password to e-mail? ive looked in the settings and haven't found anything am i missing something?

Assuming you are using one of the old Venusaur/Ivysaur ROMs, then not unless you have USB Storage and/or USB Debugging Mode already turned on and can connect with a USB and copy out the files you want. You might be able to mount the storage volumes from recovery and mount them and access them via PC
Don't know pattern lock, don't know email/password, and if USB debugging is disabled and none of the above work, you might be out of luck and will just have to factory default from recovery.
Thanks for reply I just found another way to solve this problem. Thanks anyways.

Well, how did you solve the problem?
This rom has the option to open the setting in the upper left corner. When I saw that option I went to security and then clean all credentials and that's it. Phone screen unlocked. In this times it was good but i think this is bug and very insecure cuz anyone could see all my info.
