[Q] Best 2d camera app from the market? - HTC EVO 3D

I've noticed that people get different (see: better) 2d quality pictures using apps from the market such as vingette.. Before I spend money choosing one of these programs, I'd like to see what people that have purchased said programs for their evo3d think of them. I know that the only current 3d solution is to use the HTC camera but I'm talking mainly about the 2d pictures. Thanks!

Camera 360 Ultimate is awesome, but I prefer the HTC one. I used 360 in my AOSP days, it was superior IMHO.

+1 for 360

Honestly I really like pudding camera. It's a Korean app so the actual menu stuff is in hangul, but the stuff youll use is picture guided as well as having English counterparts. Different camera types, as well as film choices.. if you give it a try, when your closing the app a popup ask if you want to exit, choose the box on the left that looks kinda like this [ o-ll ] it means yes.

[Q] 3d screen

Will the 3d screen only be used for movies and pictures or can it also be used in the launcher? A real 3d HTC sense launcher I mean. Or will the launcher just look like normal phones?
currently launcher is set to be 2D. only 3D right now are movies, Pictures, and upcoming games, and apps I believe. outside of that in 2D you have one kick arse phone.
That's a pity then.
I was hoping once developers start making ROM's they can develop 3D launchers or 3D keyboards, but now thanks to HTC that will never be possible.

what? your dead wrong on that front. Since when does the bootloader have anything to do with installing apps such as launchers and keyboards? Moreover HTC is responsible for releasing the sdk that makes such apps possible

If they can't rip the api's and all the proprietary 3d stuff it would be a helluva lot more difficult to do. Specially if the app needs something locked down by the bootloader.
At least that's what I believe / understand

3D screen hardware
Anyone know if the EVO 3D screen hardware is different from a regular, (non-3D) qHD S-LCD?

Lol yes it has a parralex barrier. Basically the screen is a bunch of vertical lines where one half is seen by each eye creating the illusion of depth.
How could the screen not be different and be 3d.

I will be interested to see what happens with the 3D. Right now I am sure it is more gimmicky and will lose it's luster but I do think it can bring some creative things down the road. Like a 3D launcher or 3D gmail experience or who knows what else. I don't think 3D is going to go away anytime real soon and would think HTC will try and get a good amount of dev support for it.

I think if other companies start to release 3d phone's it might stick around for a little bit but if we do not see other 3d phones come out in the near future, I am thinking it will just die a quick death.
Although, if the iPhone 5 goes 3d then you can be assured it will be sticking around regardless of what other Android devices do. lol

LG has also a 3d phone released soon.
Think about it. If the phone was completely 3D, the battery would blow more than you think. I think having select apps that have dedicated 3D capability it better.

That is true, but if you can only use 3d for movies and pictures it's worthless on a phone. That is why there are 3d tv's.

Okay I see what your saying. But gaming, picture, videos, movie and future dedicated apps will most likely suit the buyers.

The new google maps version would be pretty sweet in 3D. Imagine if the tilting of the plane had an actual 3D effect. Or the pop-up buildings being in 3D.

The apps is the most intriguing but I will say that if you had told me that live wallpapers wouldn't wear a battery out a year ago, I wouldn't have believed you. So i think there is a possibility that you could make a 3D launcher with minimal effect on the battery.

Good point. I guess time will tell when we actually get our hands on one along with app developers.

I don't see why 3D output would be that much more costly battery wise than 2D output. The content is still static. LCD pixels are either on or off. The parallax barrier pixels will be on, which is where all of the excess drain would come from. But it's hard to theorize how much extra drain that would cause. But it's not like you're playing a video or something the whole time.
And someone earlier asked if the 3D qHD screen would be the same as a 2D qHD screen. My understanding is that the qHD LCD layer of the screen would be identical; it just has the parallax barrier layer as well. But when that's off, it should be just a typical qHD LCD screen for all intents and purposes.

Thanks for your response. I had the same question about the E3D screen being the same as the sensation because I was concerned that the addition of the p. barrier on the 3D would compromise the optimal quality or clarity of the QHD screen. This is paramount to me since I could care less about 3D but am really excited about the QHD and the prospect of near Iphone4-like sharpness and clarity. I tend to used my phone for videos, ebooks, and web surfing and have been wishing for higher/better resolutin for years.

Just moved from s2 to evo 3d help / advice & movie conversion

Well I've been looking at the evo 3d for a while and I've just ordered one off Amazon UK to use on my three UK account.
It is due to arrive on Tuesday can't wait.
I have a couple of questions if you can help
The 3d cameras is it easy just to point and click or do you need to take it at a certain angle ?
If I want to use 3d films which I own which is the best way to convert for the ego ?
I use to have the sensation (I change my phones like my socks as I've not found the perfect phone yet but have high hopes about the 3d) the sensation had battery problems and awful lag has this been sorted with the 3d ? You tube videos show the evo being very smooth but is it ?
How good is the camera the s2 has a perfect camera but there are also loads of negatives
Lastly and this IM sure wont be clear cut will I regret moving from s2 to there evo 3d ?
Thanks in advance

3D is easy to use, must shoot landscape.
Handbrake works quite well for conversion, if you want to see a movie I did with handbrake, hit me up on IRC.
Most of the ROMs have been through several revisions, I would say lag and battery are not issues at this point.
Well no camera is perfect, there have been quite a few MODs done to the E3D camera by myself and several others. The front facing camera can do 2MP now.
And switching phones... Well if you don't like regular updates, Samsung is your best best...

I had Samesung S2 as well but had to return it to CPW as it has blue/yellow tint on the screen and red spot when taking pictures.
As for E3D's 3D camera you just point and shoot and prepare to be amazed. 2D is ok as long as you don't use the auto setting.
I use 4videosoft blueray ripper to convert 3d films. It is easy to use.
Never had a sensation so don#t know about its performance. On E3D everything is working as it should be- Fast and furious.
Be warned, there isn't a lot of preloaded 3D contents on UK's E3D. Only few pictures and that's it. No movie, no video clips, no games, no nothing. But there are tones of 3D stuff on youtube - just search yt3d. Or just go out and start shooting yourself. I still can't believe how good the 3D photos look on the phone( not too brilliant on big screen TV tho as it is only 2megapixel). 3D gaming is fun also.

I use my phone pretty heavy and get a full day out of it. I use ViperRom but don't have it overclocked.
In the accessories forum there's some links to some decent aftermarket batteries to buy for backup.

That's correct. But you still have to take the battery cover out, it is a bit silly really. I miss how it was designed on the Windows mobile 6 where sd card is easily accessible by place it on the side of the phone.

No Green Hornet I am afraid, at least not on my phone. Battery consumption is really heavy on this phone, especially when taking 3D pictures roughly 800 -900mA because it uses both cameras. I usually only get 4-5 hours of heavy ussage. I can't not understand when people say their phone lase whole day when taking 3d photos videos and play games all the time. It is just not possible.
I went out having lunch with friends yesterday. Playing music 50 minutes , videos 5 mins and taking 25 3d photos, let m8s play with the phone for like 15 minutes. 5 hours later I have 7% battery left. If I play 3d games constantly, the battery will not last longer than 3 hours, about the same I got with Desire HD. In standby 8-15% drop over 6-8 hours period. There is not a lot of custom roms for GSM 3D to play about atm. Hopefully it will catches on.
As for 2d photo setting, sharpness + 1 helps a lot in general, under low light up the exposure rather than iso, other setting you just have to play it a bit and see what suit your taste the best. My conclusion about photo is doesn't matter how good a 2D photo is, it is never going to be as realistic as a 3D one.
Excellent thanks mine is out with royal mail this morning can't wait ... Tee the battery thats not bad for all that use s2 would last half that !

I was using the LG Camera Pro for shooting video and it is really good with many camcorder features including locked focus.
Swish! Nicely done. Would love one of those. H'much to mock another up and send it to Ireland?
Also, thats something that strikes me, there are hundreds if not thousands of camera apps, but like no video ones.

Yeah, mostly camera apps for still pictures and almost nothing for video recording. As I have tested, lgcamerapro is really good and that is only the only one worth using. The rest of them are either camera shortcuts or worse than the built in camera app.
Will pm you regarding the camcorder kit. Don't want to get banned.

[Q] Evo 4g Lte apps

Does anyone know what the apps are called in this commercial or if they even really do exist, seems to good to be true.

The camera app.
Sent from my EVO using XDA
I tried to find them as best I could from Market images. Used the assumption that most of them would be paid apps...I think I was right.
The first app (the Metronome) looks like Musical Pro
The piano could be the same app.
The guitar .. looked at a ton of them on market but couldnt find any that had a similar image. On the plus side, there are a lot of good apps that allow you to "play" a guitar on them.
The mixer looking one is Electrum Drum Machine
Using finger to make a sound was Plasma Sound HD
And of course, the built in camera app using smile detection, the continuous shot and video recorder.
I'm not sure what the others were...couldn't get a solid look to determine if they were actually different apps or not.

Is there a solution for 2d 1080p video recording on the EVO 3D?

I was wondering if there is any solution (like rom or cam app) that allows for 2D 1080p video recording on the EVO 3D?
Thanks in advance.
Nobody helps anyone here, that's the point.

THERE IS An evo3d 1080P CAMERA APK APP I SAW OUT THERE. I MAY HAVE A COPY SOMEWHERE. I (oops caps) am waiting for a battery to see if my Evo3D Will come back to life. So I can use it as a Dedicated Telescope EYepiece Cam.. I will try to remember to update here if it works..
No one here will help you, there are ACTUAL LISTS Of Reasons People WIll BE IGNORED for asking Questions and the list is always Extensive.. They insist that if it took THEM a YEAR to come up with a SOLUTION it must a take a YEAR (OR MORE) for you to find it here in this NIGHTMARE LABYRYNTH OR GET ANY HELP! I only found the APK by random deep searching.. There is another APK too that is for the Still Camera. Looks to be 3D and 2D Maybe??
I have money, I don't care abut this place any more now I'm just trying to help the people they ABUSE .... I'll just buy a 4K Ultra HD Camera for my Eyepiece (or use my NOTE 5 when I upgrade from my Note 4, it has RAW IMAGE SUPPORT!) that has exquisite abilities..
I just thought since a place like this exists maybe they can help me (LOLOL LOLOL LOL LOL LOLOLOL LOL) get more use out of my old Evo 3D,. They are JERKS here though. SOME OF THE MOST TIME WASTING AND RUDEST ANSWERRS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ANY FORUM AND THATS SAYING SOMETHING! It makes their WEANING EGOS feel less SUFFOCATING when they make other people wait for simple info. I have been a Hollywood Animator for 25 Years and we FX creators and CGI developers SHARE INFO Confidently, we do not HORDE it to make ourselves FEEL BETTER...
I am new to the Evo 3D, I am wating for mine to be delivered so i am learning as much as possible, I found the thread below, it might help.
