Can i use my songs stored in my SGS2 to be played in my car stereo using the USB cable?
Yes if your car has a usb connection. The phone will show up as an MP3 player. On the car system you choose usb connection.Play your music on the phone & it should be heard on the car stereo system.

i ve been searching everywhere and everything trying to get to play my flac collection in the car.
currently the car stereo manufacturers are beeing retarded and not developing any flac support( or at least not saying anything about it)
i checked rockbox, some off brand car stereos, even considered car PC)
but none of those options except car pc (EXPENSIVE) give me a digital signal option.
i know i can use it through AUX
and I KNOW ABOUT IPOD ALAC!!!! DAMN HOPE IT BURNS IN FLAMES !!!
everybody keeps suggesting it like its a piece of cake to convert a 200-300gb of CDs backed up in flac format.
so i come here to see if its possible to create an interface for the android phone so when plugged into a USB in car stereo it will act similar to ipod.
but so it would convert and send out a PCM WAV or other uncompressed format instead of flac or MP3

When you plug into a car's USB jack, all control is transfered to the car's system. The android just acts like a USB flash drive at that point. There's nothing you can do to the android to override this behavior. You'd have to hack the car's systems to do what you want. I've got the same problem. My car only supports mp3, wma and wav from the USB jack. It has an ipod jack too, but I've never owned one so I don't know what that may or may not do. I just use wav audio on a portable USB drive in my car to get lossless music. A year or two later model of my car has A2DP bluetooth, but I'll have to wait awhile before I can upgrade my car.
My friend tried his Iphone 4G in my car (pioneer DEH-P5100UB) by usb, he played spotify so not a file that actually was on his phone.
so if that works there must be some streaming from his phone to my receiver, so streaming from an android phone should work aswell...
sry for digging up an old thread but this might be the way to a nice solution to this problem.
androidphone with flac files --> flacplayer in phone --> send pcm(or whatever it is the iphone is doing) to the car stereo via usb
any thoughts?
Or Bluetooth?

my receiver don't have bluetooth.
i am still interested in the usb audio idea, if it is a digital connection that the car receiver plays or if the phone does the DAC job?
theres no direct interface for anything besides iphone.
i would be nice to plug in any flac capable phone and have control over it through your stereo but use the phone as a decoder and send WAV file to the stereo.
but i have no fn idea why car audio companies would not do it.
i mean its a damn usb interface, its already universal. and doesnt take much effort to get together and create a universal control interface so we can use something besides the damn iphone in the car. that sht is getting old.
thers one i phone
but theres hundreds of other phones and they all share 3 things in common:
android OS
USB
and fast processor that can handle decoding of flac files or any other media files.
yet theres not even a hint of support for these devices for some unknown reason.
Google music and power amp can play flac. I have flac in my phone too.
Accidentally sent from my Google Nexus S using XDA Premium
this is like beating a dead horse.
lol i dont care about AUX everyone has figured that out by now that you can hook up yor phone through aux
or use it as a media storage...
Ok, I am looking for a DIGITAL car-kit integration. I don't want NO Bluetooth or Analog Line-Out from the headphone jack.
IS there any kit out there that will route audio directly from the USB OR mount the phone as a USB Mass Storage?
Sample of what I mean.... Plug your ATT SGS2 to an USB port that will route all audio in to the car's audio system. Allow sound output in to the car's speaker via digital path (no DAC exchange). Also allow you to play any MP3 store in the SGS2 or listen to stream music via Pandora, Grooveshark...etc...etc. Also can double back as a handsfree in-car unit
Seems like iPhone has MANY of these options, but I can't seem to locate one for my SGS2
My buddy that works for a car audio place said that pioneer will have an android based head unit soon called app radio.

The app radio from Pioneer works with the iPhone and iPod, not Android.

This is impossible unfortunately. Trying to keep it completely digital isn't necessary either, since the head unit needs to convert those digital signals into analog output into your speakers. To the best of my knowledge there is no USB audio bridge available for phones, and your head unit wouldn't know what to do with that kind of input if it was even possible. Just use the Aux out for best audio quality, and make sure you either use a heavily shielded cable, or get a Ground Loop Isolator, or you may hear alternator whine.
First off I have this mount. My Rezound is Stock. I can stream music through a cable but not voice calls. I cannot get the Bluetooth to work while it is in the dock. I can tell it to send it to BT but no sound comes through. I would really like to get Voice to come through my car speakers but I can't find any settings.
You said you've tried headphone jack plugged into car stereo via cable? Works fine for me using the same dock , stock and rommed, both before and after i uninstalled the dock program that was annoying. Has on all 3 of my android phones, usually with no dock. Have music or podcasts going, call comes in, shoots right through stereo. Bluetooth may be funky depending on how its setup with the car, stereo, or other device.
If a cable is not working, i'm baffled. Your stereo would need to be set to the "aux" input of coarse, and the cable plugged into to stereo/phone.
But how about the BT setup, what are you using for that?
That dock should have no impact on your BT connection. When you connect to your BT device, go into Settings, Wireless & Networks, Bluetooth Settings, find your device down at the bottom you're connecting to, hard press on it and select Options..., make sure both phone and media are checked under Profiles.
Yeah, for Bluetooth music streaming in my car I also had to tell my car to connect portable music player. Then I got the music working through my stereo in addition to the phone calls.

I have a car dock and my car has bluetooth. Right now I can only choose one device to stream music to. The phone can stream music to both the bluetooth and headphone jack at the same time. Why can't it stream though both the bluetooth and the car dock. This is a work around to the horrible bluetooth audio quality. I can use my bluetooth to skip and reverse and nice crisp audio comes out of the cable. Have anyone solve this problem.
Hi,
I have a BlueAnt bluetooth set in my car but it keeps dropping out and sounds crap.
I have a proper Samsung Car mount with a 3.5mm Audio jack that connects to my Audio in on the Car stereo.
Using this, I can play music from the SGS2 and hear things like GPS software instructions on the car speakers.
The question is, how do I get the phone side of things to play via the 3.5mm jack and use the built in phone MIC for the pickup?
Ie same as speaker phone but coming through the car speakers instead of the phone speaker.
Surely this is just a setting / registry change etc?
Neil.
