From My LG Optimus P509 CM7
get root explorer navigate to system/sounds/lgesounds/
and paste your boot sound as PowerOn.mp3
make sure you press r/w before pasting

open the downloaded zip and extract bootanimation.zip. place that file using root explorer.

i was trying to ask you guys to make a boot animation out of the android eats apple for droid incredible for the motorola atrix and then i posted the link and it only posted the words not the link. it said because I'm new i can't post links so thats why this happened but anyway can you make a boot animation out of this go on youtube and after the dash paste this /watch?v=sMgbpL1MiIM&feature=related

All you should have to do is download the Droid_Destroys_Apple_Atrix_Boot zip file, unzip, open folder you unzipped to, navigate to system/media in the folder, copy bootanimation.zip to your sdcard, rename your original boot animation in your phone at system/media to something like bootanimation_bak.zip, move the new bootanimation into system/media on your phone, reboot.

Building on the topic,
I recently bought an AT & T Atrix in DX and came up with a modified ROM, as some had progras in Chinese, I chose to switch to the 2.3.6 rom from AT & T.
He loved the boot animation that came, but upgraded to the AT% T rom and there was the boot animation. I wonder if anyone knows this boot is animator? If possible, can put the link?

Not unless you root . After rooting you can download apps such as rom toolbox lite which can change boot animation and even play sound.

just put bootanim.mp3 inside the zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
it work for me, i use stock gb but the sound volume very low

You need to go and read the very basic faqs and guides .
I have been doing so but they are plenty and long. I really would appreciate if you could help me just with this specific. Thank you. I have read people calling "stock " both Samsung android and the kernels included in the mod android packages. Thanks again.

I have tried system/media/ui on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3
And I also have tried system/etc
None of them worked.
I even copied the .ogg file to the ringtone folder and the file does appear as a ringtone option in the phone settings, it is just that I have not found the right folder for the bootanimation.
I used Root Explorer.

Was anyone with the sound glitch able to finally make it work? I am using Cyangenomod and baffled by the lack of documentation on bootanimation sound with that rom.
My L9 is stock rooted ,was looking fir New optimus g type lockscreen effects ,did a nasty paste into system app, now I don't know what I did ,only thing is my beautiful stock lockscreen of l9 has gone and I have now only stock jellybean lockscreen ,which looks pathetic
please help me what apps to push again in system app and in which way to change permissions, see the pics below

You are missing the Lockscreen3.apk
Pull it from the kdz or from a cwm backup.
