Coming from an iphone, the screen capture was simple, with this the message that pops up is a pain .. Any way of removing it?
Thanks

what is so painful? without the message how would you know you have successfully pressed both buttons and snapped a screenshot?
You could always install a third party app to take screenshots, even if your device is not rooted. I don't use Samsung's screenshot option. It' silly to press on 2 hardware buttons at once when i can install an app that can take screenshots when i launch it from the notification bar.

easy, it does a little animation like the iphone, The problem is when you are trying to take multiple consecutive screen captures the message is really annoying

I really want an app to lock proximity sensor on (so screen off during a call) until home button pressed, or something like that. Lately I have been having a lot of calls disconnected or accidentally placed on hold, and I think an app like this would be fantastic.
Anyone know of any?
You dont need an app this is easy to do, while in a call just press home so your on the "desktop" then just press the lock button. The screen now wont turn on regardless of the sensor

cool thanks for the info.. I still think an app that did it automatically would be awesome though!
Anyone found this application? It would be very useful..
Pretty certain mine is the ability to swipe the notification bar left to right to adjust the brightness (assuming the auto-brightness is off).
So, whats your fav lost feature?
I know I have posted a lot of these in the tips/tricks, but its been a year.. some are old and forgotten. Could be new to people. Maybe there are new Tricks since I made that guide.
Holding the menu button on the xda app to get the search feature lol

The thing with numbers I think its called dial pad but you put in a sequence of numbers and you can actually talk to your friends. That's pretty cool.

Hold upper-right corner (around clock, battery, signal icons) - the screen brightness goes to 100%
Swiping the letters to get specific artist names in songs to the music player. Swipe it while swiping it and you'll get and even more in depth search..

Long press of back button to quickly back out of several pages. Handy on XDA app as well as browser.

Is there a fix to this if you use the stock message app?
Potential Workaround
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747794
I have posted a potential workaround for those that dont mind installing SMS Popup from the play store. It works in conjunction with the stock messaging app.
This is the 10th one of these threads. Where are the mods?
There's no fix for this. We all hate it...
My phone must be broken as a text does not "wake-up" the screen. However I would like to know if its possible to wake up the phone with S-voice even if the screen is off ? I can't seem to make it work -
If you're running a ROM which doesn't wake the screen for a text, and that annoys you, try SMSawake. Its simple and works flawlessly. No pop ups. Nothing. Just screen on for the length of time you set...
Sorry if posted before. On phone and can't search very easily.

or you can simply use any number or messaging apps that give you way more control over the system than the stock messaging app (handcent, for example, lets you set the screen wake with or without popup, and change notification tones for different users, among others. i'm sure gosms and other messaging apps give similar advanced customization as well).
We all know that. For those that don't want a spaceship for a messaging app, there's this tiny simple solution.
Works very well...

There is probably an option in the messaging app that allows the screen to turn on (depending on the rom).
Most disable it for BLN support.

Not in any messaging app I've seen. I've only seen it in 3rd party apps. And you can have the screen wake and BLN. It just activates when the screen turns off.

I have it in my messaging app. Also Bln on ics with stock messaging app does not work of the screen is activated when receiving a message, so screen wake needs to be disabled for it to function properly.

Hi guys
Looked for an answer to this and couldn't find one - if you are on the phone and you navigate away to your normal screen by pressing the menu button, the top of the screen goes green (presumably to let you know you are still on the phone).
Is there a simple way to return to the phone screen? At the moment I am choosing phone icon -> return to call but i am wondering whether there is a simple swipe or something to return?
regards
Rob
Scroll down notification tray and click the call button. Is that simple enough for you?
