While charging: screen never turns off after incoming call - HTC EVO 3D

Searched but couldn't find this specifically. When my phone is charging and charging is complete but it is still plugged in and it receives an incoming call that is not answered, the screen goes dim after a little while but it NEVER turns off. It doesn't do that off the charger: screen does turn off on its own. Is there a tip/trick to getting the screen to turn off after a missed call when it is on the charger? If not, that's incredibly stupid. Don't want to run my screen constantly.

Never mind. Found it: Menu, settings, applications, development, stay awake

Turn off display while in call?

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the display while in a call? On my HTC Touch Pro I was able to just press the power button to achieve this - but on the Hero the power button is also the hang up button.
Any ideas?
Actually it's supposed to turn off automatically.
IMO the problem isn't turning the screen off during a call, it's turning it back on when needed.

I agree completely... Is an annoying issue that display go away on call because if you need something, ie keyboard or see call duration you need to do something for have it back.
Why not try this app, which you shake to wake the screen - not tired it myself but worth a go
Shake Awake
If the screen goes blank during a call you can simply press the menu button to wake up the screen again. Just tested that and it works fine.
Still, it would be nice to be able to turn it off when I want and not have to wait for it to time out to switch the display off.
You can also press the answer button to wake screen while in a call.
As to shake-it-to-wake-it, with the non-stick coating on the device I would probably be likely to launch it out of my hand !!! haha
Sprint Hero
I just picked up a Spring HTC Hero this weekend and am finding the same problem. When I place the phone up to my ear the screen does not shut off. However since the end button is also the same button used to turn off the screen, I'm in a catch 22.
For now I have to wait for the screen to time out. Turning the screen back on is not an issue as many have mentioned.

In call screen behaviur - can it be changed?

During a call, if I keep my HTC Hero close to my ear the touchscreen becomes none responsive, meaning I can't touch stuff by mistake. If I take my phone away from my ear, I can touch the screen again.
Which is fine. This is how it's supposed to work but there's a problem:
If a call lasts longer than 1 minute (or however long you set your phone to automatically go on stand by) the screen goes dark, which is fine in most cases but sometimes you need to look through your phonebook during a call or put the person you're talking to on hold so you can answer another incoming call, etc.
Of course you can just press a key and the screen lits up again and you can do all the above mentioned, but pressing a key like the "Reject button" (which normally unlocks your screen) will not only lit up the screen but also cancel your ongoing call.
Similar to that pressing any key might also have an undesired action, which can make any during call operations frustrating.
Can the screen be configured to behave like the iPhone's (or Nokia's touchscreen phones for that matter)? Meaning when the sensor detects the phone is close to something (like your ear) the screen goes dark to save power and it becomes non responsive, but when you take it away from your ear the screen lits up and becomes responsive again?
The change isn't that dramatic, go dark instead of just becoming unresponsive (waiting 1 min to go dark) and lit up again when the phone is no longer close to something, instead of remaining dark.

Take a look at the app "proximity sensor" as the hero doesn't have such a sensor. The app uses the light sensor to emulate it

I took a look at the app online, I'll try it out.
I didn't know the Hero didn't have a proximity sensor but whatever 2.1 does it does it well, I don't accidentally press anything, the touchscreen gets disabled.
I'm upset about the fact that the screen stays on and goes to standby after a while instead of being dark when the phone is near my ear and lit up when it's not.
The phone knows when it's close to something, it deactivates touch input, I just wanted it to also turn off the screen and turn it back on when it's not close to anything.

Random vibrate?

I turned off all vibrate settings but I get random vibrate incoming calls. I tried phone right side up, face down, no ideas.
I've noticed this too but it seems to happen at certain battery level intervals. Not sure if it's just meant to warn me and I'm missing a message on the screen at the time or what.
My battery is full. I had my wife test call me multiple times and it did it once.i dint know what changed to make it do it but its an annoyance to me

[Q] CM7 Screen Temporarily (5-6 seconds) Black When Placing Call

Intermittently, when initiating a call, the screen goes blank/ black for 5-6 seconds, or longer, and does not wake up. During this time, the phone does not respond to any tactile or soft input, but ringing and other audio continues to emit from the earphone.
I do not have any sort of screen cover/ protection, or any other obtrusion to the proximity sensor.
This is extremely annoying, as sometimes, I would like to immediately hang up, or place the call on speaker, but cannot do either as no input registers.
Is this an isolated issue to me, or CM7 on the AT&T SGS2? I am not running any special apps or background services.
It 'feels' as if this is mostly caused by some sort of lag, as it does happen intermittently. i can't pin down a particular pattern during which this persists. Anyone else experience any similar symptoms?

this same issue is what made me drop cm7 and go to UnNamed
I had it and would just hit the power button to turn it back on.
Dropped this on their forums:

[Q] How to awake screen from sleep during call?

This is a strange one. When placing a call, the screen immediately goes to sleep. If I want to access the keypad or end the call, I can't seem to awaken the screen either by moving the phone away from or toward my ear or by pressing any of the buttons on the phone itself. The only thing that seems to work is plugging in headphones as it triggers an event that wakes the phone.
I've been through the motion settings and can't see anything related to this that would be disabling my screen from waking. Any ideas?
Thanks
